The back on that frame u said the wire and backing showed it was old…no, it shows that it was framed in a studio frame shop or art gallery. I worked in a gallery for several years in the early 2000’s , that’s the way professional art/frames are done by hand. We cut the glass, frames, mats and backed them. It’s still done this way today.
Just started buying storage lockers. 64 years young retired mechanic,business owner landlord etc... so sold everything and retired. Now what to do. Been following you guys along with several others and decided what the heck so I've bought about 25 of them in the past year and so far been in the profit range so far. Thanks for the education on a few things and if you ever need a older guys experience in stuff I bought at your age I might be able to guide you thru some of the 60s and 70s stuff in what's money and not money and heck I might buy stuff from you!!! The lighthouse with the waves and the psalm underneath is a pretty well-known picture of La Jument lighthouse in France. The picture was taking in 1989 by photographer Jean Guichard, from a helicopter, during a storm. The guy in the picture is the keeper of the lighthouse, who came out when he heard the helicopter passing. If you search on yt for Storm and La Jument, you get to see some pretty crazy footage.
My wife is a lighthouse fanatic. We've seen most of the lighthouses on the East coast as well as the Great Lakes. That is La Jument Lighthouse in Britany France. The photographer was in a helicopter taking pictures of the storm. The lighthouse keeper heard the helicopter and went out to see what was going on. Just as the wave hit, the photographer took the photo. BTW, the lighthouse keeper was fine.
