I have no idea how old he is now, but Graham Coxon still looks every bit the 23 year old shy guitar genius he was back in the day.
and Dave looks like a grandpa
@Logan Stroganoff right :-( i saw a photo of him yesterday... looks so different. I hope he lives and eats healthy....
He's a wicked artist..
I like what he did for Duran Duran's latest album playing lead guitar and helping to arrange bits and pieces of songs.
How old is Damon...
54-ish...
His B/day is/was this month..
A March Aries.
I am a HongKonger and I feel so proud that Blur made their new album in my city! ^^
Blur are so timeless. I have a huge magic whip poster framed, and this record was the first time i got myself a blur record, so its special to me
You HAVE to release the instrumentals from The Magic Whip they sound incredible especially Pyongyang
Hi I am Chinese here, Ong in Chinese means luck or prosperity and is typically use as a word to wish others for luck or say that something has luck or "ong" so Ong Ong means more luck or many "luck"
***** 中文字是"旺旺"嗎? 哈

Their album captures the atmosphere of Hong Kong. We lived in Central and Sheung Wan, HK from 2009 to 2020. The air pollution, skyrocketting rents, bad drinking water...but it's an enchanting place! Everything you need is squashed onto the small island; you can enjoy not just city life but you could go out trail running, hiking and sunbathe on the beach. Now we're living in Tokyo but I really miss those narrow alleys, 街市(wet markets) and 茶餐廳(cha chaan teng)!!☕🐣🍰🐟🍖
No one in all of human history has ever been as cool as Alex James.
***** Unbelievably good taste in bass guitars. The Gibson he's playing throughout this vid is beautiful.
It's true. No one else could mis-manage a large cheese festival and retain my respect.
YEP
Suppose he's ok for a massive tory.....
woah that escalated quickly
I just bloody adore them. there's no other way of saying it. (pun intended)
Oh you really really really just did that
yeah it really really really did happen
Magic Whip is so special for me, because this was the first LP that I've ever listen of Blur.
They should release a special edition with all the jams or something. I would totally listen to all of those jams or even demos if they have actual demos. blur demos are always my favorite.
agreed.
by listening to the demos, would learn how the songs being evolved and crafted to the current state..
reveal the secret of creative as well as the journey has to go through to give birth to great songs
I never really pictured blur as a jam band and since I am a member of one it would put things into perspective. blur demos are fantastic and feeling the transition from demo to final product would be amazing.
At least a special edition like the think tank special edition
@@biponacci I'd even settle for the raw recordings like when Radiohead released all the OK Computer session recordings
Not many bands can say they made their best album after the reunion. Blur is one of the few.
1 3
@@sendersnivy6698 13 is still my personal favorite, but The Magic Whip is definitely still up there as one of their best.
@@gz4wbz I wholeheartedly agree!
Alex James attempting Damon Albarn's cigarette trick @ 5:13.
I feel happy just seeing these four playing together! Blur is always a nostalgia trip.
Thank you Blur. I mean, really.
Right? No greater gift than a new blur album, hopefully we get some more gifts soon
Absolutely.
Deciding to watch this 4 o'clock in the morning because it's my birthday and I can't sleep and i'm about to listen to this album on vinyl because i'm getting a record player!
Micha〈3 Nice, happy birthday. I know what it's like to be too excited to sleep too - had a couple of all-nighters this week in the run up to my team's appearance at Wembley next Monday. I also know how great albums sound on vinyl - this is a great album too (though I've only got it on cd). Enjoy your audio future building up your collection of classic and new LPs. Head down a second hand record shop/charity shop/thrift store to pick up a few more nice and cheap... :)
It doesn't get any better. Beautiful as usual.
i'm so happy i discovered blur through this record, though i know their famous singles, but this record sort of is a continuation of the past which has already been established. So to witness the growth and the difference of the band through the years, and then now is a such a wonderful experience that no other band has ever given me and i'm thankful for that!
Thanks for making the album in Hong Kong. There are lot of things for you to discover in this tiny place, let's come here again and again!
I'm so happy Graham was passionate about the material enough to push for it. Hearing his thoughts and feelings about it and his approach to management etc are inspirational, and relatable. And seeing the creative process afterwards too. I want to be able to push for something creative that I believe in even against large or complex odds.
This album is full of love. Thank you Blur!
3:23 lmao Damon with his talking Carl.
27:08 the two middle-aged local blokes who cramped into the same set of seats with Blur in the tube - that could be the coolest album cover!
I live in Hong Kong and i'm so happy that blur came
I'm hoping the unexpected brilliance of this album inspires them to create another. Ranks amongst their best work.
🎉🎉🎉
see you in 3 days
The soundtrack of this video sounds great. I think they could release an instrumental edition of this album, and it would be equally a pleasure to listen to.
I need a new album from these guys...
That shivering sensation when we arrived at the west end of nanking street and realizing that our blur-pilgrimage about to reach its climax, was pricelessly magical. thank you for the good tunes! thank you for the night!
Memories restored. For good tunes, for Blur, and for friendship made valid on Nanking Road. Cheers to the magic whip!
Damon Albarn is an inspiration man.
Thank you from HK for made in Hong Kong, from Kong girl!
I love Blur and this is a great documentary!
sure a good record
and the good thing abt it is that even if it's a reinvention of who they are, you could still hear "blur"
Guys, you are the best! magical new album:)
bought my tickets for the show on 22 Jul. yay!
I miss you guys :(
best record i have heard from blur. since 13 anyway.
I swear there's a new piece of fruit in every shot of the studio.
new blur album plsssss thank you! ❤️
Dave looks like a cute teddy bear
The Smiths, blur, Radiohead, and oasis.
Best bands to come out of England.
Best relationship ever!
perfect album. it's exactly what I hoped for from these musicians.
thanks for reuniting Blur!
next I'll just take a new
Good The Bad & The Queen,
then another new Blur album,
then another Gorillaz.. thanks : )
Just need another blur album then you’re all good. All in 5 years
Greetings from Perú .
very amazing documentary
LMAOOOO damon at 22:00
Swag 27:56
just beautiful 🖤
damon is turning into murdoc
Wdym?
Thanks x 1,000,000

time for another blur album!
I AM STILL SO IN LOVE WITH THEM OMG
thanks for coming back ♥
Nothing in this album that I dont like
¡¿Porque estás en todas partes?!
its so *flipping* good
It's a great album
I love it
Wow the magic whip is a great album from blur and the documentary really explains what happened on the making of the magic whip.
Ong Ong Ice Cream Man Lone Some Street Go Out are the some of the songs that I really enjoy and very experimental
A really nice comeback album from a really nice band
17:06 i thought they were covering slow country :P
Highly inventive as always, they're one band I would have loved to have been involved with, part of the creative process. Always impressed me going way back to when they used to play club's like the legendary JB's Dudley West Midlands England.
16:08 - Damon mentioned Malaysia while googling about Ong Ong! Ahhh cool stuff over here, do come here already!!!
I've seen about it and the company is more related to Singapore if I'm not mistaken.
Some of the concerts scenes are from Lima, Perú in 2013. Amazing show.
si lo queréis subtitulado en español en La 1 (televisión española) está.
Ya falta poquito para que vengan a México!!
Back to the game with most better than before. But I still love the past Blur.......
Fantastic!
Brill video, hopefully tour it now!
Are there any other B-Sides than Y'all Doomed? Would be interesting to know if there's more source material to create more songs and if others were attempted. Also eventually releasing the original jams in some form online would be awesome. You could have people online do their own remixes.
Make more albums it's 2020 cmon pls we nned a good band again
Can't believe that,it's amazing
This makes an interesting album even moreso. Great modern rock record Blur, thx
Tour Magic Whip Philadelphia PA
I know all the places in this video. =D
Please someone upload the New World Towers film.
So over to you Hong Kong, what do you think of ‘The magic whip’ of Chinese rule? #interested :)
Comedic Gold at 22:00! The Monty Python group would definitely be pleased. BTW, did Graham know that Damon was behind him going bonkers?
+Tasha Johnson-Lemjidi probably not lol
And please mind the platform gap!
Please make the subtitles
20:10
I love you Damon! XD
Azfar Yusof Tengok dah ni?
Particularly sad seeing how it all turned out in Hong Kong. It was good while it lasted, it seems!
7:06 打小广告吗。。
Blur, when are you gonna come back as gorillaz? THEY WERE AWESOME! This is too but I first heard of gorillaz
+Bonemas Nightcore you mean "damon albarn, when are you gonna come back as gorillaz?"
yeah sorry
+Bonemas Nightcore early 2017
Cassette y list er h n .y erreurs
15 Liam fanboys so far
I want to be buried with the magic whip !
no surprise, they do not understand Asia that much, just like other random european guys. Good music though.
nnokki They don't live there. Obviously they won't understand it much.
So many fruits in the studio
***** I noticed the same thing. Damon must eat an inordinate amount of fruit
+Joseph Reising he might be doing an all fruit diet? that or fruits inspire them all xD

Ooooh sí era de su concierto aquí. 😭❤️
Es lindo saber que les gustó mucho, tanto como para ponerlo en su documental. :')
I literally choked on my tea at 22:00 ! Lol love you Blur!
***** Why thank you! :3
Was it peppermint tea?
@@plasticbleach4004 underrated comment
I'm really proud to be a Blur fan, this new album is amazing!!
someone please lock these guys again in a basement studio for a week so we have a new album
Pleaaaseeeee!
I agree with you
Wow. Got a bit emotional watching this. Beautiful documentary. :)
This album, to me, is pure perfection! No doubt 😊
Someone tried damon's cigarette flip ;)
22:00-22:06 LMAO!!! This is hilarious gotta love them. I bought this record, and really like it so much, every song. And terracotta heart, what a tune!
At 22 min. Seriously Damon
Grahaaaam
I've waited so long to watch this and after whinging my mum is finally letting me I'm crying I'm only a minute in
The cramped tube, Jordon, Nanking Street, the tiny lift, the fruits, the local bottled water, the alley - something I'm utterly familiar with turn
into inspirations for my favourite band for a serendipitous comeback. Gosh, how incredible! The studio sholdn't have been sweaty though. There's air-con everywhere in Hong Kong that could freeze an Eskimo!
That was a thoroughly enjoyable watch, gives this album context and depth. How to rank it in Blur’s discography is difficult but given its remarkable emergence and importance to where they stand it’s given remarkable buoyancy.
I hope they gave back to poor of Hong Kong while they were there. God knows those people living in coffin hells needs it. The corrupt government does nothing to help them.
As a Hong Konger i am so thankful that was mae in Hong Kong 😌 It sounds so Hong Kong
Love the magic whip❤
Can't wait to see them live
