always felt Gardemister was underrated in this era, besides the Ford year he always seemed to be in bad factory teams like Seat or Skoda

@@grabacoffee1204 yeah that cordoba looked good when gardimiester took 3rd in 99 new Zealand rally and then they employed Didier auriol in 2000 but they couldn't get the car on the pace. Shame coz the car looked promising. I miss the cars from early 90s right through to 2010. When they started using smaller cars like fiesta & ds3...... I lost interest in the wrc although I still keep my finger on the pulse

Gardemeister was better than the results shown. Another one of the WRC's biggest "what ifs."

I never understood why the lower private teams were considered manufacturers in the manufacturers championship. There were only 3 teams that were manufacturers (Ford , Citroen and Subaru). Stobart , Kronos etc were customer teams. Perhaps the naming of it could have been better eg team championship rather than manufacturers

It felt a bit light in terms of cars/constructors in '07, given the embarrassment of riches we had previously, but I'd love it if these sorts of cars were racing today.
Or, just abandon all the rules, and let drivers have whatever they like.... a Nissan GT-R going at full chat on spikes in Scandinavian rallies would be something to behold!!!
(What a great set of drivers '07 had!!! If Toni Gardemeister has to run as a "privateer", the works guys are at a high level!)

Sure, the lost points from the crashes cost Gronholm the title, but so did the windows not being half a mm thicker in Portugal 🤏

Y'know what makes me angry abt this season??
It's when they don't mourn the death of the legendary Colin McRae,
They just left in the dust, when did they find out that Colin died?? Repent you, people!! 😡
Same case with Richard Burns, they mourned Micheal Park's passing, but not Richard??
I'm glad that DirtFish made a tribute for him, just like how Top Gear made one for Burns.

Why is the Citroen better on tarmac rallying
Yet again the French drivers and teams cheating the rules
It all looks like the cheating French again in motorsport It's utterly appalling and utterly unacceptable that this happened in this era of rallying
The British teams are always the underdogs in this era
Also it seems that since the loss of both British drivers
The simple fact is that despite rallying is a British invention they have just not good enough
The French drivers and teams always have twisted the rules to suit their needs
Also remember that the FIA is French as well so that it does seem like that the French drivers and teams get help from the French organisation of the FIA

Sorry but where’s the evidence that Citroen were cheating? Don’t get me wrong I hated the fact that loeb won most of the time but they weren’t cheating

They have most of their local rallys on tarmac. In the 70s and 80s, French were considered tarmac specialists. There was a little bit of bias toward Loeb, but he was truly the most talented driver to ever grace the sport.
