- I have to leave lake Kivu to head to the North of Rwanda as soon as possible, and to keep on going safe with the solo overland expedition across Africa. I drive my Toyota Hilux Rafiki to the border with DRC, trying to escape the riots. On my way to Uganda, I make a quick stop at a powerful place into the Volcanoes National Park: the Dian Fossey Mountain Gorilla Fund, where I get to see Dian Fossey's famous American anthropologist and conservationist work and dedication to the mountain gorillas until she got killed. My time at the center definitely touched me deep inside, and I hope it will resonate in you too.

Very impressive road network. People don't realize that Rwanda is poorer than Haiti. Good governance is everything. There will be a lot less people on bicycles in 10 years.

Yes take care of rafiki, because rafiki is your travel partner. If you have a plan of gorilla safari, then I think Uganda is good for it, because rawanda is expensive. One more thing, in open hairs you look so cute. 🌹 for you and best wishes

Uganda owns half of gorrila world population compared to Rwanda, you will notice when you visit Mgahinga and Bwindi impenetrable Gorrila national parks, but problem with Uganda Tourism Board is corruption in Gorrila tracking permits and lack of innovation in tourism management.

Rwanda is better managed and have enough precious minerals to keep it going but ethnic strife is a future possibility. Haiti has potential untapped and like most countries in Africa which was a colony of some western country or other its natural resources were reaped by the rich west not benefiting the local economy or its people. Haiti and former African colonial countries face the same problem of covert and overt influence of its politics and policies by the super power and former colonists.
