In the late 90’s I worked at a country bar that had line dancing and couples dance contests. It was great!! The dancers would wear those special undergarments like cheerleaders wear under their skirts so they could fling their skirts around during the dance. We even had some acts come in and perform live and we would be absolutely packed. This was a big thing back then 🙌🏼😄
My parents and three brothers all went to auctioneers school in Kansas. My parents owned Willowvale Antiques and Auctions in Biloxi, MS. My dad was so funny. It was like standup comedy. He would put up a cut glass bowl up and if the bid started to low, he would throw it in a bucket with a brick in it and say I would rather break it all than sell it that cheap. The audience didn't know it was always a chipped piece. They all loved to do this song (at home). Thanks for the memories BillyYSC. RIP Daddy!

Clothes, nick nacks, cars, home decor...you name it, it was there. My nanny ran the concession stand in the back and sold peach cobbler with homemade ice cream, and hamburgers. 😁

Used to go to the sale barn with my grandfather in the late 70's. They put all us boys to work running cattle through the chute to keep us busy and out of everyone's way...and because somebody thought it was a good idea to give a bunch of preteen boys electric cattle prods :-) Good times

Real Estate auctions (houses. land, the furniture usually foreclosed houses), Art auctions, Horse Auctions (they auction off horses, they primarily do this in Thoroughbred race horses), Livestock Auctions (where they auction off Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs,etc), and Dog Auctions (where they auction off Dogs & puppies for Puppymills).
I'm so glad you mentioned about her dancing because I remember years ago watching him in an interview and this music video came up and how the woman was a world champion clog dancer at the time so they just had to have her do a little fancy foot work.

Went to cattle auctions with my grandfather as a kid bought my first heifer when I was 6 years old she gave our nieces calf out of the herd for about 5 years. It's been a long time since I have been to an auction.
We were auction kids. My family would go to Thursday and Friday night "Junk" auctions. They sold anything from antiques to Tupperware to toys to cars. You never knew what people would bring to sell. Even live animals like chickens and ducks. Anyone could sell - just load up your truck with junk, be there at the beginning to register, then draw a number. Lowest number went first, second lowest next, etc. You could buy or sell or both. Then we'd go to the Flea market on Saturdays and Sundays, and sell what we bought at the auction. At the end of the Flea market, we would go around and offer $25-50 for whatever was left of other people's flea market tables (people that were just there to get rid of stuff from their homes). Then we'd go through that stuff, and take it to the auction the following Thursday to sell. It went around and around, and we kids had a blast.
I love this video. My dad passed when I was 9 but before he died I have many memories of going to cattle auctions. Some of my best times were from life as a farm girl in the Oklahoma Panhandle.💖💖💖

Auctions are pretty common in agricultural areas. My daddy grew up doing farming and made sure we knew what it was to go to farm auctions.
