2:07 pretty sure they said this isn’t what the final product will look like and its only for the demo. I think in the actual game it will be more akin to bt3 where you select a character then it comes up with a second tab to choose which form.

It’s already been confirmed the selection screen was not the final product, and put together that way for the demo.
Other CCs who also played the demo said not think on the character screen since it's an early demo build where it could differ from the final version

All 11 of them Gokus gone have the exact same moveset too. I just see Tenkaichi 3 with better graphics bet money it's gonna be the same button mash combos as the storm games. I want this to be good so bad but I'm not buying it
If you actually played Tenkaichi 3 then you would know that character variations exist because they cover the different story arcs of the anime by giving them attacks and transformations they had at that point to make each one play differently
There usually are a few differences between some of them

That's what I've been saying it's ridiculous they're doing this but would you like to know why they're doing this I'll tell you why because they want to cut s*** to put on DLC so they can have 17 to 20 DLC packs of three or four characters and rip you off
The tenkaichi games always had the option of base or starting in a mode they just did it more discreet so I wouldn’t say they money hungry plus it’s still a demo they can change stuff
They have to know it’s a total mess
