Beautiful! Gorgeous healthy plant! It looks quite happy ! I am a huge gongora fan . I had a gorgeous plant and it flowered constantly. Unfortunately I didn’t quarantine a gifted orchid and infected my entire collection. I lost 50 plants. It destroyed me. So I found a replacement like yours. I was told to expect one burst of flowers around July. Is this what you’ve found? My formal plant was a flesh toned flower that smelled of cocoa and bloomed constantly. All year round! I’m still searching for my original gongora.... Thanks for posting.
That's a terrible loss you suffered there. It can happen so easily with dire consequences. My gongora usually flowers in September. This year it has had a staggered flowering, with one spike or two in bloom at a time but it has gone on for weeks. You will see in the next orchid update video. Thanks for watching and happy growing.
I have a dendrobium nobile who suffered from drought but still has many healthy roots, he has leaf tip die back, and his new growth has stopped growing, but hasn't put out a typical last leaf for dendrobium nobiles, any tips on saving him.
If the plant has suffered stress I would suggest not giving it a winter rest this year. Continue watering as normal and hopefully by next autumn it will have recovered enough to take the normal winter treatment. Hope this helps.
White (mold?) on these pots makes me twitchy! Is there a more effective way to discourage it other than just wiping down the outside at watering time? Did you do anything before returning it to the house?
@@GardeningatDouentza Okay, but when your headline is "how I care for mine", I expect also the fertilizing. Otherwise your care instructions are uncomplete. ;-)
BBQNBLUES I like stanhopeas...they smell wonderfully delicious! 🥰✨ I do find the the pendant blooms attractive...I also find the various shapes of the gongora blooms interesting. Orchie Dee has one that has triangular blooms.
Gorgeous! Seems happy!
Thanks for watching.
Absolutely gorgeous! How lucky you are to see it bloom in person!
Those pendulous curly blooms are everything, they look so beautiful hanging . Happy growing.
Thank you 😊
Amazing blooms

She's just beautiful and amazing. I've never seen this species before. Thanks for sharing.😍
A nice one to have 😊
Lucky You!!!
Also I have managed to get my hands on those terracotta orchid pots so I’m over the moon!
Happy for you 😊
Please do a video of your repot with us please. Beautiful orchid. Thank you for sharing.
I hope to. Thanks for watching.
Lovely plant, love the oendent spikes. Did you arrange the spikes evenly or was it the plant doing?
I arranged them evenly. Nature is seldom that obliging 😉
Thanks for watching and happy growing
Lovely!I thought I missed this video, happy I didn't as the picture on fb was a few days ago.Greetings from Poland🍀
The photos usually go up a few days before the videos but you can always find old videos again anyway. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
I got one yesterday in a big box 'o' orchids (could be, need the orchid council for confirmation 😁
Saw that video this morning. That is some windfall you got there!
@@GardeningatDouentza Happy with them, all healthy, few mealy bugs, going for a table hunt tomorrow

Yes, this plant has suffered from mould on the outsider of the pot, which i clean of. We will se what lurks within when i report it.
How did you get the spikes so evenly spaced all around the pot?
Michael McCarthy I was going to ask the same! I'm hoping for a better show on mine this summer ... But I'm terrible with displays..
I spaced the spikes evenly, Michael. Nature is seldom that obliging. But don't tell anyone 😉
Rachel is not only Queen of Ireland she's also a skilled snake charmer (true story)
@@YnseSchaap Haha. If only :D

You didn´t say anything about fertilizing. How often and how strong or do you not fertilize?
I think I wasn't fertilising at this stage.
@@GardeningatDouentza Okay, but when your headline is "how I care for mine", I expect also the fertilizing. Otherwise your care instructions are uncomplete. ;-)
@@matthiaskayser6159 Well, not really if I don't fertilise it ;-)
@@GardeningatDouentza You don´t fertilize it at al? And which water do you use? Rain water or tap water?
@@matthiaskayser6159 Tap water. I have taken to fertilising again this year but the display wasn't as good.
With that awful name "Gongora" I would have expected it to smell of cheese. ha
