- In this week’s food tour we went to Cabramatta to eat some of the best Vietnamese food in Sydney, Australia. To get the full authenticity of things John from JohnMalieTv will be showing us around some of his favourite Vietnamese spots including making your own rice paper roll Banh Hoi Dac Biet
Cabramatta is around 35-40 minutes by train from Sydney central station and its one of the one of the highest concentrated Vietnamese people living in the area which sees many people flocking to cabramatta to get the best authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Pho Tau Bay
This restaurant first opened in 1980 as Cabramatta's first Pho restaurant and still going strong, they are famous for their Pho Bo or Pho Beef Combination. This is John’s favourite place to eat Pho in Cabramatta
Pho Quoc Restaurant
Just next door from Pho Tau Bay is this shop and interestingly I’ve always eaten Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls premade, but today we have one of the best experience a DIY - do it yourself Vietnamese Rice Paper Roll experience with all the toppings otherwise known as Banh Hoi Dac Biet.
Tan Viet Noodle House
We absolutely love this place for its crispy chicken with egg noodle (mi ga da don) its an absolute treat - with garlic oil for the noodle, tender and succulent juicy chicken meat and the as the name says it’s the skin is extra crispy that almost instantly gives it the biggest crunchy texture.

Hey Nick and Helmi!!! So great to see you guys and love that you're doing Viet food!! It was awesome your friend John came along with you and showed you these cool spots in Cabramatta!! The first place the food looked so awesome.. the Beef Pho was full of meat and onions, and awesome they have been in business for so long!! Sriracha and Hoisin is a must for us as well! 24 hour broth sounds heavenly!!! The second place love the rice paper wraps, with all that delicious ingredients inside, and the last place was funny.. but cool they gave you umbrellas while waiting outside for the fried chicken and noodles!! So thoughtful!! Everything looked amazing!! Thank for taking us with you and much love!!

i think the second place, phu quoc, got the pancake but we try what they're famous for which is the DIY rice paper roll 😊 the pho tau bay & tan viet don't have hahaa.. these places just sell their core dishes 😜

Heyyyyy it's John! Great collab guys. You can't have a vietnamese episode without pho. The rice paper wrap place is so interesting! Never had that before. Know what to do if we're ever in Vietnam. They look and sound delicious 😍🌿

We’ve heard a lot about Cabramatta! So many great places to eat. Also love when the meat is still cooking in the broth. Need to try the dipping sauce for the meat. Rice paper rolls is one of Maria’s favorite. Looking good. Prawn in sugar cane. Nice! That crispy chicken looks bomb too!
Cabramatta is definitely foodie heaven in sydney :) DIY rice paper roll is really good way to experience and sharpen your skill to roll it haha.. We love the crispy chicken too, always get it all the time :D

One of the things we loved about Vietnamese food was all the fresh herbs! Looks like you have loads of great places that sell authentic Vietnamese food in Sydney. Did they have much veggie stuff, like in Vietnam?

I always gets the special combination and with extra beef ball soup on the side. This is my little hidden gem in cabra that not much people know about.
I have never had pho in Hoi Sin/Sriracha broth. 😭
Sacrilege. 😂 The chef can't take credit for that creation.
why would you have it without the soup?! far too dry for me, ALWAYS noodles with the soup haha.
Mysterious Laptop haha 😂 we do use the soup but not much hehe, just sprinkle a little to mix the sauce underneath hehe 😉
