Radiation & Nuclear Reactions // Preliminary HSC Chemistry

In Stage 5 we may have learnt what the different types of radiation are, but often what radiation is in the chemical context is misunderstood. In this video we will be discussing what radiation is, what the different types of radiation are, how we can express radioactive decay using nuclear reaction equations, and also explore the band of stability.
📚Syllabus
● Model the atom's discrete energy levels including electron configuration
● Investigate energy levels in atoms and ions through:
- Collecting primary data from a flame test using different ionic solutions of metals
- Examining spectral evidence for the Bohr Model
