Like, you now, netherforming the terrain around them to make it habitable? Piglins don't zombify the second they go through portal, it takes some time, so with a technology to make terrain around the portal be habitable for them they could do such thing. But, in the trailer, we see no such thing, they are walking on terrains with nether portals nowhere to be seen and with no signs of "netherforming".

I like this style and I think the movie is about expressing creativity just like the game it self and not just focusing on replicating how the game looks. Just like the Mario movie it didn’t try to replicate the games but focused on a story with still references to the games and a similar style.

Minecraft movie should’ve been defeating 2 bosses and a villain, the ended dragon and the wither skeleton.
The villain wants to destroy the overworks for their world to take over and it realised the wither, an old myth and legendary disaster assembled by scientists recreating the dead from hell, is perfect for this.
So steve and the others are forced to follow him defeat the wither and prevent the army’s invasion through learning to survive and use magic to fight the mobs.
they find some passive ones that are able to help fight, like the endermen and zombie.
The wither becomes a disaster similar to the wither storm as it will hunt and destroy every in its path.
Upon realising the wither is originally created by Steve’s ancestors the team are separated and forced to live in the nether. Until in the next movie which may introduce us to the nether. This second movie is similar to in Minecraft story mode when they abandoned Petra or that order of the stone guy.

There are tons of animated minecraft movies (like songs of wars). And they are also kinda awesome but making another minecraft movie similar to them after 10 YEARS of waiting would be boring...

I like this style and I think the movie is about expressing creativity just like the game it self and not just focusing on replicating how the game looks.
Just like the Mario movie it didn’t try to replicate the games but focused on a story with still references to the games and a similar style.
