  • Here is a Texas survivor, a 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo classic car with just over 17,000 original miles. The paint, body, upholstery and mechanicals are just excellent. This is a pristine automobile and a sure collector car today and in the future. This car rides down the road like a Cadillac, one of GM's finest. Enjoy the video! This car was filmed by Samspace81 with FAST440.

    Bought a brand new powder blue (pastel) Monte Carlo Sport Coupe early 1979, right after my college graduation. It was such a great car, very good looking and drove so nicely. I think we paid $5200 for it, off the lot in Lincoln NE.

    My first car was a 78 monte. All original Florida car...drove that car 4 hours to my parents cabin every weekend..never failed...that was between '96-2000...always used premium gas before it was expensive...the car is still in the family but A/C needs recharging and some other minor repairs but original motor still fires up after 43 years

    I bought my 79 MC when you could actually pick your interior colors and upgrades using a glossy 8x11 book. Mine was black exterior with the oyster (lt.grey) vinyl seats and carpet. She was beautiful. Carburetor problems in '82, other than that it was a perfect car.

    It has been a pleasure watching this video... I owned a 1980 monte with a v6 and transformed it to a 350 4 bolt main monster 600 cfm edelbrock with intake manifold mid rise The last thing I did was put 373 gears on diff but I wish I would have put a posi unit on there because Even though my limited was rebuilt it was sometimes 2 tire fire. I was young and married and stupid so I sold it for $250.00 because it required electrical work due to headers burning ignition wire all the way into the fire wall. Mine was a midnight metallic blue with 15in wide wheels in the back and skinnies in the front. I wish I would have had bucket seats converted to stick shift and posi tract also maybe supercharged. I still dream of me driving that car. But seeing your video makes me feel so much better knowing I wasn’t the only one with the same vision 1980 hot rod monte

      . 65 mustang broke after leaving dealer ship for the first time. bronco shaped 2nd in 2ft of snow 89 f150 starter alt battery relay fuel waterpumps fuel 2 tanks fuel pumps and fuel pump switch
      Manifold all. Cracked up
      Every thing else was all ways fine
      4x4 was great had cheaper low and high. Had more traction in 2wd that a 4x4 toyata as my dad had to put in reverse so the toy did not hit us. We had to push him up the mountain than it got steeper
      And my dad's truck started to spin and slip my dad said get out and lock the hubs so I can put it in 4 wheel drive! Every ford I was ever in broke down exp 2002 ford focus with the a z teck motor not the Dura trash 🗑

    What Kind Of Engine? 267? 305? It Didn't Look Like The 231 And I Don't Think The 350 Was Available.

    That also isn't a lowrider, a lowrider is a car that has been lowered and has small tires on it. This has its factory wheels and ride height on it. Cars have never came from the factory a "lowrider", that is something done aftermarket.

    Love the g bodys. Makes me sick to think of how many we beat the shit out of and destroyed in the 90s. Cant find em now, 3-500 dollars then, perfect for a punk

    my grandpa had one like this, except it was black with gold pinstriping. In the early seventies, most of the Chrysler fuselage cars had those hood mounted turn signals that faced the driver, and he had taken a pair off of a 69 fury that he had had, and installed them on his 79 Monte. Kinda strange

  • @mikehevalow261
    @mikehevalow261 5 лет назад +1

    I wish I could have bought this one or one like it in the same condition with the 305 v8. I would NOT alter it in ANY WAY!!! No low riders here, no air bags, just as it was when it rolls off the line and THAT is how it should stay. It should be a crime to destroy the remaining G Bodies into low riders. Etc.... Just leave it the hell alone
