dude.its called the atmospheric sound....listen to CLIMATIZE by the prodigy...and then listen to this....total different songs but...but they have this wall of sound that give the song a total different feel...its to hard for me to put in to words...trust me..listen to these songs..and you,ll get what I mean.time for another spliff..lol

Is it just me or is this particular song.... hypnotic? There's something about the rhythm of the drums and the repetitive guitar riffs that almost puts me in a trance. Simple yet captivating.

I remember when I learnt about 'Black Metal' - My colleague who i worked with knew I was an avid Slayer and Metallica fan and suggested I give this a listen. I have to say that I was immediately turned away with the harsh vocals and strong tunes however it lingered in my mind for days to come. "What was that song I heard and why was the chorus so catchty"....

That's the first Satyricon song I've ever heard. After watching the video (only) three times in a row I couldn't get the main riff out of my head for days! Powerful stuff!

Same. But this song alone didn't catch me that much. Then I watched their "Live at the Opera"-concert. Now I love all their songs, saw them live myself in 2017 on their promo-tour for their newest album...they're just epic.

I would consider Satyricon a starter for those interested in black metal. Nothing too fast or overly extreme. Also, this was my first taste of black metal, so I can't really complain. Classic.

AlwaysOnTheMove999 Immortal is also a good starter band. But my first tastes of Black Metal were early Sodom, Venom and of course Bathory. Though I'd say Slayer despite being a thrash metal band were the true gateway for me to black metal because the riffs and lyrics were far more diabolical then any other thrash metal band.

Satyricon was also the first band that exposed me to black metal with their song king. This is much more accessible than most black metal and I suppose this is a good start. Even though starting with this wouldn't guarantee that people start listening to burzum for example.
I always loved heavy metal, but i love many other types of music as well. So after many years i discovered Satyricon, and i must say i have missed it all my life.
I have close friends who don't listen to metal music in any form...except for this song, this riff is infectious
