  • Is aggy really a baby-snatcher ? I very much doubt so nowadays looking at her progress as a mother so far.....

    I just subscribed. I had to read all the comments and watch a few videos first. So far, I like what I see. No manipulation, no interference, no instigating fights, no abuse, no killing of monkeys in the hands of stupid humans, and human stealing babies. I can go on. Watching some of the other channels disgusts and anger me to the point, I want to take a trip to Cambodia. I'm glad someone mentioned your channel in one of the other channels. I applaud you on how you portray your videos and explain what goes on in them. Thank you, Arroz! Hat goes off to you.

    I watched your video about the photogs and their manipulations over at the Temple. I had come to the conclusion that things were hinky when a small monkey fell from a tree and landed on the concrete walk way by the water. I could not believe what I saw. There must have been 8-10 guys standing around waiting to see what would happen. Occasionally one of them would poke the dieing animal to get a response. They stood around laughing and talking and made no effort to help. That was the first time I got on line and I chewed them out for their callous behavior. Still watched but became more disgusted as their greed grew and morality shrank. I had no idea it was as huge and organized as you reported. I went to my subscription page and unsubscribed every one of them. Thank you for your concern for the animals and your attempts to rein in those idiots. Be safe. Lindsay

      This is video of a baby kidnapper. The baby clearly wants to get away and is constantly calling for it's mother. And that may be granny in the shot but the kidnapper is not about to let the baby go free. Not even to eat. The baby is desperate for a savior.

    You are right Arroz, these short tails are much better mothers than the long tail Macaques. They are so horribly abusive to their babies I can hardly stand to watch it anymore. They are also nonattentive for the most part. Thank you for your wonderful noninvasive filming style, lovely music and narrative, yellow captions. The VO's in Cambodia are so aggressive, even faking medical interventions and so on... it is all so wrong... I think they probably even contribute to the problem being so aggressive.

    Just watched this video for the first time. I'm trying to catch up with all the videos. I first noticed this channel in 2020. But didn't subscribed until the end of that year. I normally don't subscribed to channels who aren't from a professional side, like animal channel, National Geography, BBC Animal planet, but because the way this person filmed the monkeys without intruding in their space, made me drawn to it.
    As a Social Scientist, behaviour is wildlife animals is difficult to understand, because we always do it through our human nature lenses and our thinking process doesn't allow us to see their wild nature that doesn't need justification for what they do.
    I know your pointed out the different of Macaques females, Rhesus & long tail.
    However I wanted to pointed out their behaviour is going to be different depends in their ecosystem they lived. Yes competition is important as the higher rankings tried to protect their resources. But is always is going to depends in their resources, if they don't have enough resources to survive their behaviour become more aggressive in the troops to compete for their own survival.
    Maternal insticts are the same in every Macaques species. We don't have too many studies of long tailed macaques maternal behaviour, especially in their own habitats to drive into the conclusion that they are less caring than Rhesus Macaques.
    Long tailed macaques are more independent than Rhesus & more rebellious.
    If you pay attention to Rhesus Vs long tailed in captivity, long tailed are the one who mostly rebelled and take more effort to help them adapt to a captivity environment.

    • @breAnnasmama
      @breAnnasmama 4 года назад +1

      Princess Young it isn’t about the breed specifics in how they treat their babies. U can’t make that assessment ... there are too many factors involved ... the balance of
      The troop. The available food source , less or more competition ... the geography in which they roam and reside in their territory .. the experience of mothers and bonds of the troop .. the interactions happening behind the scenes ..’like sre they stressed out bc humans are there and modifying their behavior etc. u can’t simply say oh... monkeys with shorter tails treat their babies better than those with longer .. and most of the time there are way too many variables going on. There is only this that can be said ... a mama thats balanced will bond with and create balance for her baby. If she has support around her , that will ensure even more positives for her and her baby that will be carried through generations. It’s just not fair to observe a few videos and assume that these relatively similar animals would be that drastically different in line with how they parent . U may compare for example , certain aspects of parenting structure between macaque monkeys and perhaps , orangutan apes ... but even still it’s just comparing and contrasting. There’s no “ better “ or worse .. that’s subjective. They’re not humans. They don’t operate by human standards and behaviors in their parenting
      Style or behaviors etc. in general.

    @ Arroz - new subscriber here. I watch a lot of the different monkey channels and just subbed here. The production value of your videos are likely the best on RUclips out of all the monkey channels, so congratulations! I find these strange social behaviours like these kidnappings to be particularly interesting. There is still so much we have to learn about troop society and social interaction. Anyways, please continue to film these rare social activities as they are so much more interesting than watching a baby monkey asleep sucking in a mammary gland for ten minutes like some of the other videos you will find on other monkey channels.
    Territory full troop battles vs. Another invading troop confrontation, Alpha male fights and interior troop battles are all fantastic to watch if you are lucky enough to record them. Of course these kidnappers videos are also very interesting to watch, especially when they are of the less friendly type.
    Anyways keep up the good work! You have a new subscriber and fan right here!

    Wow I have learned so much about the behaviors of these wonderful primates! I 1st started watching long tailed macaque, And then I got curious about the pig tail, One thing I did notice between the 2 they are very vicious with their offspring And also with each other within their own troop. I don't know if it's because of where they live and their diet with all the sugary snacks that are given by the tourists that they flip out and act that way. It's only recently that I stumbled across one of your videos and I discovered the Rhesus macaque. I fell so in love with how they are with each other but also how loving they are with their babies and with each other's babies as well. It's because those Cambodian channels in their hundreds are only interested in staging drama ( injuries, death ) for views, which translate into ad money. Both long tailed and pig tailed aren't vicious, it is unfortunate that they are in Cambodia as everyone there is trying to cash in on RUclips. There are only 2 or 3 monkey channels out there which aren't from Cambodia, mine ( Hong Kong ) and Kiyo's ( Japan ) and our channels have been tarnished by the behaviour of these unscrupulous people.

    There is another video, with Dopey and Aggie.. and Dopey was loving the attention he was getting from Aggie and kept coming back for more. It was all like it was play to him. He was having a really good time .

    That was awesome AM!, very well put together! Thank you for creating and sharing that! I'm still curious why Agatha would nibble on Dopey. In the past it seemed like a control thing, a way to keep the baby quiet. But that would imply shes doing something she shouldn't be, and knows it. So that's a little confusing. And despite not calling for help, Dopey sure does look relieved af to be back in Reddy's embrace! His lip-smacking at 11:32 and 11:42 was pretty priceless! As was Lilly at 14:12 who appeared to be sniffing Dopey almost as if to check and see that he hadn't been pilfering from her milk bar!

    I was watching "The Golden Monkeys from China National Geographics and I have never seen such intelligent monkeys by way of the mother. She is protective and when she tells the tribe "to let go" she means business and grabs her baby back! Not allowing others to mess with her would be fruitless. I loved that very much of this mother. However, everyone is aware of their surroundings plus they are attuned to danger when it is near and they each vocalize their need to tell the mother to look out and so she grabs her baby who was out exploring but takes the baby in her arms and move out of the area of danger. Gosh, I love nature at its best. Also, these are the smartest Golden monkeys where they live by nature's splendid forest full of rich leaves full of excellent food obtainable to all the monkeys in this great forest. They even walk on their hind legs during the very extreme weather as if to help their body heat be maintained.

    Just another observation while watching this video again: After the showdown at 5:10 between Reddy and Aggy, you can actually see Aggy is displaying a fear grimace as she turns away from Reddy. That's extraordinary since Aggy is much higher ranking, and shows the extent of Reddy's devotion. What a fierce momma! Great footage!

    • @GozerTheGozerian
      @GozerTheGozerian 7 лет назад

      The fear grimace itself is at about 5:56 and we can just see the end of it as Aggy turns away!

    Really enjoyed this video. The VO tells the viewer at the beginning, if the adult monkey is the mother or a kidnapper. Sometimes you can watch a long time without really figuring out if the baby is being kidnapped or just being babysat. I like the blocks of printed info telling the names of monkeys and situations they are in. Keep up the good work. Really enjoyable IDEO.
