One time I was at a sleepover and a girl that I kind of knew was there she was 12 I was 13 : and I remember her sneaking out in the middle of the night cuz she said she was going to hook up with this guy she randomly hooks up with sometimes name Sean. People ask how this kind of thing happens. Number 1 reason is parent negligence. So many parents just don't care, or are battling addiction, poverty, personal issues. Have a relationship where they can trust and talk to you.... this is possible if you're honest about some of (if not all) your mistakes and the consequences that occured. I can tell my parents anything because they never spared my age to teach me certain things as I grew. They thought me stranger danger. Later in my teens when a teacher tried to groom me, I didn't know what grooming was, but I told my parents and showed them gifts from him cause he "liked me". I wish they would stop saying rape when the minor was not actually raped but willingly had sex. Why? Because one thing is kidnapping and forcibly rape and another thing is statutory rape where the minor was a willful party. The first case is a monster, the second is a pervert.
My god, people like him should be given the death sentence. Poor kids, having something so horrible done to them at such a young age. Hope that they receive the help that they need in order to cope with and understand these traumatic experiences. Please parents, be more involved in you children's lives, and be aware of their social media usage. But I admit, kids will be kids and won't show everything to their parents, which is why it is also important to educate children about safe social media usage and red flags to watch out for.
For now I take solace in the fact that he was arrested and will be punished for his crimes. Also have to admit that, even though its a bit wrong, it makes me a little happy knowing what happens to child m*lesters in jail.

Easier said than done. A long time ago households used to be able to operate on a single income. How can a parent be involved when both have to work jobs just to provide the basics? This was pointed out by a dad who gave a speech at one of the more high-profile mass shootings. Either the one in Michigan or that one in Buffalo. He said he parents his son but he also said that he recognizes it as a privilege. Because he knows a lot of parents who can't parent because they're already struggling to provide a roof by working two jobs.

From 11 to 19, guys like this used to hit on me all the time. I took great joy in pointing out their bald heads to make them angry. Made them even more mad when I called them "sir." Fun times. Luckily, I had a mother that explained everything to me before men could try to groom me. Stop being scared of having the talk with your kids & do it LONG BEFORE they hit puberty. I hit puberty early at 8 years old, so I had the ability to get pregnant then. That's a scary thought, having a kid & only being 8 years older than them. I'm not blaming the kids, I'm just saying nobody was able to convince me to do anything because of my mom's constant transparency.

Christ my girlfriends kids are 9 and 10. The girl still plays like a kid. I couldn't imagine. Thankfully they got him off the street and definately saved more future victims from him. He has to go away forever.

Where are the parents? Why aren't they charged for negligence.
People ask how this kind of thing happens. Number 1 reason is parent negligence. So many parents just don't care, or are battling addiction, poverty, personal issues. Number 2 reason is the child seeking care, comfort and validation. If it happens to come from a groomer like this guy, they will not say no. Especially when he offers to drive around their other neglected friends and supply them with alcohol and/or drugs.
Blaming the victim is absolutely unfair. I was a victim of grooming as a child and teen, and I had negligent parents. My family blamed me, a girl groomed from the age of 8-14 by an adult, for getting caught up in a "relationship" with my step uncle who convinced me he loved me and that we were getting married. He was a decade older than me and obviously knew better, as well as had a more developed brain than a child like me.
So happy I am married to a guy my own age, who hates twisted sickos like that. It has taken a lot of healing, and it enrages me to see grown adults on this platform commenting that the girl is guilty too. No. That is the reasoning of groomers, if you think that way, I'm questioning whether you're attracted to kids.

Stop this culture before it's too late, and have a talk with your child about these things and really explain the goods and the bads and that this is unacceptable thinking, even if you think you're child surely wouldn't check this box, TALK, there's always a good chance since most parent's don't know their children thoroughly even if they think they do. @@tinawindham6958 it's not possible, but tell them things, stories, tell them the reasons why and not say "because I said so", make them aware of predators and danger so they can say no, run, tell you or get immediate help where they find themselves. Have a relationship where they can trust and talk to you.... this is possible if you're honest about some of (if not all) your mistakes and the consequences that occured. I can tell my parents anything because they never spared my age to teach me certain things as I grew. They thought me stranger danger. Later in my teens when a teacher tried to groom me, I didn't know what grooming was, but I told my parents and showed them gifts from him cause he "liked me". They shut that shit down and explained to me what was happening. They never spared my age. Parents can't protect their kids 24/7, but they can teach their kids how to protect themselves on their own or by getting help, and your kids must be able to discern when to DIY and when to seek help. It will shock and surprise many parents what something as simple as a conversation, or just talking to your kids can do to inform and save the kids life, and spare them from emotional and psychological damage because they were able to avoid as much messed up shit as possible in their lives. Wisdom and Knowledge is everything where strength fails. They are even more important than strength. It's just good to be aware and have sense. That's all I can say.
