One correction - Thief Taker General did not necessarily die. When confronted, the player has an option to sneak out of the room unnoticed leaving the General behind. Good summary overall.
@@maksphoto78 I disagree...Then if hundreds of years later, a master thief with the same name as the Garrett we know from the older thief games is born, then how come a friend of his, Bassow, also happens to have the same name of the other Bassow in thief 2, AND happens to be the friend of THIS Garrett? Besides, Remember the first mission in Thief 2 where we had to rescue Bassow's girlfriend, Jennevier? In the cutscene where Garret in Thief 4 rescues Bassow, Bassow mentions that he was going crazy in that cell and he wished that Jennevier was with him ! This shows that These people are the same people since seems like the timeline is the same! A little further than the older Thief games, but still around the same characters, in which some of them such as Jennevier seems to be dead. So in conclusion, I think all these characters are the same!😁 Jesus, I wrote an essay about this, didn't I?😂
@@silentwarrior7835 well Erin was the cause of the gloom wasn't her? We don't actuly see what the gloom does to people, but I assumed that is a mild version of what happened to the other asylum inmates. So since Garrett took the primal from her the gloom must have gone.

It is underrated, it wasn’t liked due to the linear gameplay and the constant loading times as well as not having a wide variety gameplay features and having a bland setting. I personally enjoyed binging the game over summer break, that was a lot of fun
Started the game in 2014. Just replayed every Thief game in order. Just finished this 2014 game 8 years later. Poor story/plotline, undeserving of a Thief game. Don't waste your time playing. Play Thief 1-3 instead. HD graphics upgrades are available and highly recommended for 1 & 2.

Feels like a walking simulator of a game, especially coming from playing dishonored first it's hard to back track into a game like this that is much more limiting. The story seemed interesting so thanks for the vid to give me closure lol

4 years later, i would say 7, the gameplay is basic but you can make it hard by picking all items each chapter and not be seen, or you just rush like a barbarian or like erin and be done in a few hours otherwise the hard way can take 20h+

So in conclusion i think the title should be "Thief (2014) - the complete story" so that when people searching for the COMPLETE and WHOLE Thief story... they don't accidentally click here......

I liked the city however, I do concur the story was most likely A.I. generated and "undeserving" of its predecessors.

The pigeon was injured, just liked Basso was!
It was a raven. Plenty of them around in the story, and they are super cunning. All Corvids are.
I think it makes more sense now.

The 3 previous Thief titles have next to no connection with the 2014 game. The developers themselves admit that it's a reboot, not a sequel.
