it would have been cool if they actually made "sword art online" not with kirito but Aincrad.. with the whole boss system, items, guilds, 100 floors, and actually ONLINE!
+josh lerio Wait, you mean there are NONE of those above? Not even the rpg grinding and leveling up element?Well good job man,you killed my hopes of this game (comment made before watching the video)
Krontok I don't think an MMO based on the actual SAO would be all that great unless it was VR like in the anime. Maybe when the create a working Full-Dive? Otherwise we'd just have the same thing as hundreds of other MMOs, minus the magic.
Krontok Um Hollow Fragment had Aincrad but only up to floor 70-100 after they beat the creator. Every floor has a certain amount of requirements and when you get to the boss, you have your whole clan attack it like in the anime. Hollow Fragment is pretty much the closest thing you will get to the anime. Also the reason why they aren't going into a big party raid here is because its ALO and not SAO. ALO doesn't have dungeons like SAO.
***** I think Perma-Death is a tad too extreme. Maybe just a reset but you maintain your stats, so I guess just losing your equipment and map exploration etc.
Thiscenturygames Seeing as Infinity Moment was a big what-if story in the actual Sword Art Online game and Hollow Fragment was basically a big expansion on that, it makes sense for the next part to be about the second MMO in the franchise, ALO. Maybe the next SAO game will be about GGO or (if we're lucky) the Alicization Arc. I'd love to see that tbh.
EnzerPyro I was saying if another SAO game was made, probably 2 or so years from now, having the Alicization arc would be cool. Hopefully it'd have been adapted by then.
TheDevilDeVille How about going back again, doing the same anime 1st season story with original elements, not chaging the story, but adding new characters and making decisions and such, that could affect later on, with anime cutscenes and songs. Even tho, ALO have the best fight in the entire series and GGO a NICE action, the best part of SAO is Aincrad, period. It gave the feel of real danger and nostalgic, while giving you fantasy in its entire nature. I'm playing SAO Re:HF and tbh, I'm loving every part of it.
gamingdevil800 A game similar was made about 10 years ago, but it quickly became Pay-To-Win and it was called a scam by many people who tried to play it due to how you earn rl money and gain rl money in game. I think it's still around today, but how big the player base is I cannot say.
Nikolas Wilhelms NO! ESO is a WMMORPG (Western Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), SAO would be a EMMORPG (Eastern Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). The western part of the genre is still stuck in the whole WOW mindset, while the actual progress is in the eastern segment.
Thank you. So much better than some other videos that dont show the HP and real in-game play that should be there but isnt. I now want this game. Thanks for the video.
Really liking the look of this new game, everything looks updated and improved from Hollow Fragment! Faster attacking, more teammates to fight alongside, you seem to start at a lower level (Thank god), FLIGHT, AIR COMBAT, MAGIC!!, and extremely improved graphics! Everything is so smooth and nice looking and the enemies are just as cool as always! Maybe even more-so now! I wonder how many different ones there are, I remember there being at least 50 different enemies in the first few parts of Hollow Fragment. And according to the wiki, being able to play as characters other than Kirito or playing as your own character entirely (though he'll be ignored storywise) makes this 10x better!! I can't wait for it's release I'll be picking it up ASAP!
Kind of upset with the description. I'm not one to complain for type errors...but that's a horrific error. That's definitely Sinon...not Leafa. Which would mean this game takes place after GGO. Which would mean that...HOPEFULLY, Aincrad is in the game..
+DarksoulistX hollow fragment and lost song are set in a "What If?" scenario. Lost song doesnt follow the ALO arc as the main villain was in hollow fragment and the story is a different continuity. There could be a GGO-like game in the future though. Also there has been discussions going around of them adding in "New Aincrad" at some point. Its only a rumor but who knows
This isn't what I was looking for in an SAO game. I was looking for one of two games. First of all, something both would encompass, is customized characters. You don't just play as Kirito or some other main character. Moving on. The first game I was hoping for, was a hardcore mmo with no magic, much like the SAO game inside the anime. Teamwork would be required, and each floor would have a boss up to floor 100. Rather than have one group beat a boss and have it beaten for everyone like in the anime. all players would have to beat the boss with their own group. I would hope for basic attacks, and I think that having a training area to set up custom fast pace combos would be cool. Like say you want to chain 5 basic attacks, but you could never press the buttons fast enough. In the training area, you do the attacks in that order, and then the game links all of the attacks to a certain button. If you press that button, then the combo is performed, so you don't have to constantly mash the buttons (said combos would have a limited a amount of attacks and a cool down, etc. etc.) That's the basic concept at least. Then, this is the second idea, but could easily be made as a part of the first one (so like, once you beat the 100th floor you get to move on to Alfheim), maybe an expansion pack as well. Have Alfheim. There are 8 races and each are constantly trying to beat the other. Rather than having something like the world tree quest in the anime, have some sort of monthly battle, and have weekly tournaments (in order for players to have something to work towards). The race that wins the battle gets some prize, maybe extra money, or an extended flight duration. (Oh, also, the combo system applies here as well, but with even more possibilities, like chaining air to air attacks, to air to ground attacks, to ground to ground attacks, etc. etc.) Also, have some way to balance it so that one race isn't just picked over the others by everyone. Like if too many people are in one race compared to the others, that race gets a debuff of some sort, and races with comparatively fewer people gets a buff of some sort. Also, the attack system I saw in that clip was very choppy. It wasn't like the combat I expected in an SAO game, it was far too slow.
Ryan Johnston Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is a game based on the SAO world, where you can customize Kirito's appearance and name (Not voice but that's for story purposes) and you have no magic, only sword skills. Since its not an mmo, when you beat the boss it is beaten, that's the way the game works. There is combo creation, albeit only with sword skills, not basic attacks. They have the 100 floors system, but it starts you on floor 76, so you only fight 25 of the original 100 (which is disappointing, honestly). The combat system can be fairly quick, if you're using normal attacks, or a bit slower but far more damaging with heavy (Burst) attacks. Sword skills are just as quick as they are in the normal anime, excluding the rapier (Which is waaaaay too slow for the way Asuna fought in the anime). Not exactly everything you wanted, but it's essentially the same. I do prefer playing as Kirito, tbh, because it makes more sense and allows the character to be fully voiced with decent cell-shaded cutscenes. I don't know how much you'd like it, but if you want something like the first game you described, it may be worth a try. The game in this video is the Alfheim chapter, though I don't know much about it cause I haven't played and I'm not spoiling myself too much, so I can't say if it meets your ideas. But I'd say, based on this video it's gonna be pretty good.
TheDevilDeVille Based on this video, you fly at 10 mph, you attack with a good amount of time in between each slash, and you're useless unless flying. That's what this video showed me, so no matter how you cut it, from what I've seen, this does not meet my expectations for an SAO game.
Ryan J I can see your point, they aren't the best for the fast-paced action of the anime. But I still think they're good games. If someone you know picks it up, you could give it a try on their system before you decide whether or not to buy.
TheDevilDeVille I might give it a try, but I mean seriously. They have 2 awesome games layed out for them, all they need to do is make it. But noooooooo, let's not do the games that already look awesome in the anime, and make something totally different.
Ryan J look at Havian's channel if u want to see more gameplay for lost song. Its the vita version but he did a very extensive look on what to expect from the game
I have to say i enjoyed my time with this game on the Vita. Had a lot of fun memories with my friends. This and Freedom Wars...which i feel shouldve gotten a sequel...
I've been hitting bed at 3am nowadays all because of this game last time I remember doing this was when Xenoverse came out and that's my favourite game of all time. This game is close to perfect online is amazing rpg elements could have been better but it's decent as it is graphics look amazing on ps4 tbh I can't see a flaw in it
Nathan Bourn Scratch that, looked it up, you can create your own character, but he/she IS ignored storywise. According to the wiki, the game will play as if you are Kirito when you're using a created character.
That helps some what. But I'd definitely like something like Fairy Tail Guild 2 where you create an avatar that's the main character. Although, I can understand why they'd keep Kirito as the lead. Maybe next game they'll make two story lines: one for Kirito, then one for a custom character.
Nathan Bourn That would be grand. I'd love to see how the cast would interact with a newcomer. Alicization arc could easily pull that off too. Let's hope for the best
Strider119119 Because the beginning of season 1 was amazing, then they ruined it with HORRIBLE decisions and then season 2 came out which is just a cash grab.
Conman540 Do you mean the first 8 or so episodes were decent? And my reasoning behind the popularity is probably the premise, over-powered fuckboi protagonist, or harem of cute babes that have one purpose.
Everybody is complaining because they were expecting an actual MMORPG, but this isn't Sword Art Online, this is the game OF Sword Art Online. If you want the true SAO, you'll have to hold your hopes for at least the next ten years or so. And hell if I'm gonna give up on that, for the moment I'll still enjoy this game while I wait. After all, I hate modern MMORPGs, because I have yet to find one that is balanced correctly and fun to play.
Inspiration leads to innovation, and innovation may lead to promising results :D Love this game. 9/10 in my opinion, needs some more graphics work, but the AI's are amazing.
If they were going to make an SAO hack and slash game with RPG elements, they should've let KOEI handle it At least the musou games have some what stylish combat, and it isn't all stiff and boring....
If they make a MMORPG they should've let it Blizzard handle this could be an real awesome game. And totally awesome could it be if it were VR based. Hopefully the future brings us such an game.
This looks like a fly at your enemy and mash the attack button simulator, the environment isn't exactly interesting either, it looks like they just made some terrain and slapped some models and monsters all over it and called it a day.
As much as I love the anime, I honestly don't know how I should feel about the game. There is one thing I wish the game has, and that is your own character. And to those who are hating on the anime, to each his own.
Would like an SAO game set in Alpheim Online to where you can choose your own race, character creation, and own story. kind of like Fatal Bullet, I don't mind interacting with Kirito and others. And maybe a Game with your own character set in Aincrad as well.
If the world wasn't so repetitive and enemies as well, this could be great. RE: Hollow Fragment had repetitive areas sure, but the plot with Philia made the game worth it. I was truly interested. I really want this game because I feel its worth a shot. But its still 60 dollars.....
anyway I say support this game because the developers have been listening to input and this is a improvement from hollow fragment. Though I wouldnt have said the combat was bad since I actually liked the action switch mmo style gameplay. I think FFXIV should add switching to the game the way sword art has switching with 1 button instead of having to do a provoking combo.
you could have each floor be a map on a different server it would save a boat load of processing time and power, and also if you stick to anime graphics it will run nice without much pressure even on things like a gtx 750
They could make the game with the right Engineers. Take No Mans Sky for example, the game is so big, it dwarfs Sword Art Online by many factors... Using the same idea of randomly generated monsters, skills, places, items, quests and dungeons, with 100 floors it would still be a lot smaller than No Mans Sky. Pack it all with VR, make it subscription based, no real money action house, death penalty, and pvp. That's the game I'm waiting for...
the fist half of sword art online was amazing, just amazing, but when they got pulled out of sword art online it just took a downward spiral in my opinion, and it was like they started a story that didn't want to finish, so they tried to recreate the adventure of the first half but still had to finish the real world story they had started
imagine sword art online with monster hunter similar fighting system (+ magic etc.) in a dungeon based game? (100 floors + bonus stages or just some areas from the anime) just imagine it
I have this game on my PSVita and also SAO Hollow Fragment if i tell u this the second teleporter land is in Fafnir's Lair its a very tough dragon i beated it already though but it took 3 days anyways i was just playing SAO in my PSVita then i saw this on my tablet Like if u LOVE SAO Kirito x Asuna! Though theres a lot of characters! Leafa, Asuna, Kirito, Sinon,Klein,Agil,Lizabeth,Yuuki and more!
I think it's safe to say that nobody wanted this part of Sword Art Online. People were pissed when the anime just cut off Aincrad early because "Oh you're the developer and you are saying if we can beat you that you'll end the game early!". It was an amazing world and THAT is what we want back. Not the stupid fairy crap. WTB Aincrad Online or GTFO
Why can't they just make a sword art online a proper mmo all u need is the 100 floors, create ur own character, a refined battle system this one is alrite as it is to be honest but seriously its possible nowadays heck u dont even need to everyone on an entire server have multiple and yes im aware that shits expensive if thats the case have monthly or yearly subscriptions like sega did with phantasy star universe i think, the point im trying to make is you can't really have a good sao game with mmo elements without it being an mmo it makes it seem empty to be honest
Jack, to set up graphics like SAO's MOBA Maps and a 100 of them would take huge fundings, large amount of time and a huge group of specialists. Secondly, supporting the extremely large map, even in graphics shown in the vid, would take some serious coding, including the huge system of options and actions allowed in SAO, it's difficult. If they cut off most of the interactions and such, then just go play World of Warcraft, League or whatever you can mod into animu xD
Emm sorry didn't read your full message here.. So yea. Multiplayer servers capable of running a single server with more than 100 players would kill them and would require high-speed internet
it would have been cool if they actually made "sword art online" not with kirito but Aincrad..
with the whole boss system, items, guilds, 100 floors, and actually ONLINE!
I completely agree
I mean instance based would even be fine imo
Ur computer would be like. *We must construct additional storage*
Budder QT that's true, all the interactions with the world will lag the game
+josh lerio
Wait, you mean there are NONE of those above? Not even the rpg grinding and leveling up element?Well good job man,you killed my hopes of this game (comment made before watching the video)
Not what I want. Gimme Aincrad, 100 floors, put it online, let me make my OWN character and make it at least resemble fun.
Krontok I don't think an MMO based on the actual SAO would be all that great unless it was VR like in the anime. Maybe when the create a working Full-Dive? Otherwise we'd just have the same thing as hundreds of other MMOs, minus the magic.

***** I hope not!

Am I the only one around here who liked both seasons of SAO?
I liked it
Me top
To
No you're not alone because I like it to
+Max Talk N i like them both to
why didnt they make an actual mmorpg
Tell me about it
They did, it's available on mobile
Finally! A game about an anime thats about a videogame!!
Yo dawg

Did it have to be based on the shitty fairy part?

Hmm mmo style but non mmo. I've waited for a online SAO game for so long now.

Try elder scrolls online

Ok chill

its weird, play sword art online that is not online...
It is an online game to u know
i like how people are saying ''its not online'' actually if you look at the trailer , it says that you can play with/against friends.

ikrrrrr

what????
Ozi Avci i do and xbox 1 :p

+DarksoulistX To explain the first part of your comment:
IGN are autistic.
GGO has nothing to do with this game. They met Sinon in SAO in this storyline.
Charles Jiles What does that have to do with anything? The characters they listed in the description are still wrong regardless.
Well not your assumption, but the original commenter's assumption.
cool, a video game that's about an anime, that is a video game

there is an sao game called sao: hollow realization it has character customization and online
I disagree

The one coming ou later this year(hollow fragmenta) will it hass a dlc pack called ggo
Jorge luis Arguello Hollow fragment is already out, has been for a long time. The GGO DLC is just a costume pack for Sinon and Kirito.
TheDevilDeVille really??? * cries in corner and starts thinking about life decisions*
Jorge luis Arguello Yeah, sadly. It DOES come with a lightsaber for Kirito, but it's the wrong color =/
I feel like the only reason that this game could ever be worth playing is because it would be fun to fly around freely.
so... a shitty version of Phantasy Star.

Am I the only one to see "Sinon" Instead of "Leafa"? I'm sure in the Description it says: "Kirito, Asuna, and Leafa"
sinon is a ranger, leafa isn't, plus she's not in the video

+Orashi true but i think its still worth playing...it looks fun...i think attack on titan will be better though...well actually they are both great
If they make a MMORPG they should've let it Blizzard handle this could be an real awesome game. And totally awesome could it be if it were VR based. Hopefully the future brings us such an game.
I feel like if someone tried hard enough, we could invent nerve gear to fry our heads, this is the first step to being dead
I'm still waiting for my official SAO mmorpg ( if they ever make one :( )
Sword art online integral factor on mobile
Why all the negativity? As a non-SAO fan, this looks like a pretty sick game. Who cares if they took some artistic liberties with it
game in a game
GAMESEPTİON
This looks like a fly at your enemy and mash the attack button simulator, the environment isn't exactly interesting either, it looks like they just made some terrain and slapped some models and monsters all over it and called it a day.
If this was for Wii U or 3DS people would be talking shit about it...It is shit and nobody says anything because it is for the PS4 or vita ????
All the comments are hating on it. Do you read bro?
Is for the vita... Those graphics look outdated get some glasses
I'm really interested to play this now, it looks like tons of fun! :D
EU QUERO ESSE JOGO PRA MINHA VIDAAAAA
Somos dois
I have heard that GameSprite gonna have an alpha test of a new sword art online game.
"Not virtual reality" - 3/10 IGN
lmaoo
Looking at the comments it seems like I'm the only person who actually had fun with this game and I haven't even watched Sword Art Online..
They should make the game in which u make ur own character and do missions, quest, and boss battle with ur friends
If you guys enjoyed the series would you want to play a similar game but without the nerve gear. I found a new SAO mmorpg game coming out soon.
As much as I love the anime, I honestly don't know how I should feel about the game. There is one thing I wish the game has, and that is your own character. And to those who are hating on the anime, to each his own.
looks like something that app developers would sell on the appstore for 5 dollars
maybe if we beg we could get one based on the actual SAO part of it.
man, why didnt the make an MMO SAO game on the first part of the Manga...... 100 floor dungeon system would be awesome.
i was hoping for it to be based on the game less on the anime, i hope there is online where you make your own characters with their own skills
Would like an SAO game set in Alpheim Online to where you can choose your own race, character creation, and own story. kind of like Fatal Bullet, I don't mind interacting with Kirito and others.
And maybe a Game with your own character set in Aincrad as well.
did anyone notice that they called Sinon Leafa in the description
i was so excited to see the have a game so i looked it up and no no no this is not what i was expecting. We all want the real thing lol
so we playing games in their games...
Correction in the description: Sinon, not Leafa.
Yeah
This needs to be played with the occulus rift
If the world wasn't so repetitive and enemies as well, this could be great. RE: Hollow Fragment had repetitive areas sure, but the plot with Philia made the game worth it. I was truly interested. I really want this game because I feel its worth a shot. But its still 60 dollars.....
It feels/looks like the camera could be an issue. Dx
Gotta love how the strongest fighter in all of alo does 15 dmg.
I like how the description says Leafa lmao..
this is amazing
anyway I say support this game because the developers have been listening to input and this is a improvement from hollow fragment. Though I wouldnt have said the combat was bad since I actually liked the action switch mmo style gameplay. I think FFXIV should add switching to the game the way sword art has switching with 1 button instead of having to do a provoking combo.
At least we can fly. That's a plus.
ur girl wakes up n sees u playing this
this shall come out at pc
Iu Kirito lắm 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
❤❤❤Kirito
This looks fun, but I can see that the camera is gonna cause a lot of problems :(
Where did you get this game, plz reply it looks so cool
you could have each floor be a map on a different server it would save a boat load of processing time and power, and also if you stick to anime graphics it will run nice without much pressure even on things like a gtx 750
If the creators make the next SAO game GGO (Gun Gale Online), a lot of COD players/RUclipsrs might consider playing it
They could make the game with the right Engineers.
I like the Fairy Dance history. I like Alfs and flying characters. and i like dinamic fights.
Well, one thing you should do is be careful with those types of monsters. Also, DASH AWAY you can do that u know.
did the creators of this forget that SAO is an online game?
This seems boring enough to lead you to an emergency room.
Everyone has their opinions on games and anime I think the game and the anime are cool im dedinatly gonna post this on my channel when it comes out.
Will it be on xb1?
imagine sword art online with monster hunter similar fighting system (+ magic etc.) in a dungeon based game? (100 floors + bonus stages or just some areas from the anime)
just imagine it
I have this game on my PSVita and also SAO Hollow Fragment if i tell u this the second teleporter land is in Fafnir's Lair its a very tough dragon i beated it already though but it took 3 days anyways i was just playing SAO in my PSVita then i saw this on my tablet Like if u LOVE SAO Kirito x Asuna! Though theres a lot of characters! Leafa, Asuna, Kirito, Sinon,Klein,Agil,Lizabeth,Yuuki and more!
this videos name is 7 minutes of sao but video is 8 minute 16 second
nice, you got skills.
It looks pretty good, flow looks solid, but i wish it had xbox one release as well
Don't hate. To each his own
If anyone is just looking for an SAO game, search *Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment*
This is a game based on the ANIME not a game based on the game.
if only thay make a PC version of this and be a mmorpg wood made my life a heaven.
FINNALY SWORD ART ONLINE
Not to mention the people who likes the anime.
awwwww...I was really looking forward to the SAO aspect of it! Not the Alfheim Online....and isn't that Sinon? Not Leafa?
Yeah it's Sinon but IGN are dipshits who never watch anime except Naruto.
the fanmade game is legit all the time :v
the landscape reminds me of Spyro the dragon
I'll play AQW in the meantime, till the real deal with VR stuff comes out.
