Your reaction to the amount of gold was gold in itself. We love every part of you Chris, your channel is the best gold prospecting channel on RUclips, thanks, Chris, for entertaining us every time you come out the gate. ❤😊
The golden rule is, "When everything is the same size, gold rules." I use the Golden Rule classification system with 16 screens from 4 mesh all the way down to 400 mesh. Every batch is so easy to get all the gold out, gold will absolutely be the heaviest in ever batch size.
If it's to fine for a Miller table then I'd like to see you try a teaspoon of concentrate mixed with Borax and apply a flame just to see if you could get a minute button rather than resort to HG or Aqua Regina. Just thinking out aloud.....
4:04, tee hee, I had a feeling your dream mat was too small for this clean up. The floating gold, I have seen that as a child while camping off-grid with my parents. My dad said it was mica! Even then I thought it was gold. I wish my dad was still around so I could tell him I was right. Can you believe he told me, "there's nothing precious in Canada", when I was a kid? He told me that when he threw away the two diamonds I found when I was 8 or 9 years old. We were camping off-grid and I found them while sifting river sand while my parents fished. He said they were broken glass. I never forgot what they looked like, and decades later I found pictures on-line of raw diamonds that looked EXACTLY like the two I had found.
I had a similar experience as a child. Folks are so accustomed to mediocrity, they can't even admit that something rare and beautiful is possible. They're out there. You can find more. Don't get jaded. (no pun intended 😄)
@@MadDogTor_ At the time, late 1960s, there weren't any diamond mines in Canada, so the fact I found two "could be" the first ever found. Now there are diamond mines in the Northwest Territories, Canada. I have since used Google Earth to observe the area I found the diamonds and the lake source looks very much like a flooded Kimberlite tube.
Incredible thank you Chris for sharing and the mine owners what a privilege for us to watch that! You did an awesome job, I can’t get over how fine it is, you did an amazing job I think that would take me 7 days to clean up 😂
It is wonderful seeing you have so much fun. Those nice gold owners know just how trustworthy you are. Its is funny I always felt that way about you and your videos from the very beginning. Way to go Chris. Cheers from America bro TYVM. . . . . . .
Thanks for the vid Chris not sure what got me more excited cartoons when I was young or the weekend or watching you and the buckshot in my senior years✌️❣️😁
Love that you're using dream mat products from my home state of Montana, so awesome! Thanks for all that you do, brotha. You've opened my eyes to all kinds of gear, tips about said gear, and prospecting theory and practices (even over here in the Rocky mountains - Gold still acts the same haha) Cheers 🍻
Fine Gold is the Reason I Recently Purchased a New Dream Mat Sluice. I went with a 6X42 Double Long Micro - Mini Dream Mat Setup. The Finest Gold Needs a Lot of Time to Settle Out and be Captured. So far the Sluice has been Working Absolutely Great. Now I just need to find Some Gold. XD
Such an awesome experience Chris, small gold is such a bastard though! I dabble with a little heavy sand from West Coast NZ and have ended up building a "Gold Webb" that flows into a blue bowl that flows into a carpet sluice. It works ok, mostly it was fun building it all up.
I was just in the Klondike and panned upstream at a gold mine from Dawson City... got gold! Claims are 500' on the stream and 2000' deep, $10 CDN to purchase
Im in southern Alberta, Canada. We have glacier ground gold here too. Not huge quantities of it so we mostly see who can capture the finest gold. Some of it is ground so fine it just shows up as a brown-ish/yellow paste in the bottom of the pan
Well it will certainly make cleaning up Reedy Creek cons seem easier after this. What size mesh will these cons get through Chris? Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
How about take a funnel and put a cap on the bottom then throw the concentrates in and shake/vibrate it to stratify it by density then just release the gold out of the bottom. A small valve (slide would be best, ball valve might not close easily) between the cap on the bottom and somewhere part way up would reduce the amount of sand/etc that fall out the bottom with the gold when opened. Bonus points for using a glass funnel so you could watch the statification process.
seeing that amount of fine gold in the pan reminded me of my first photo (yes film) of the Milky Way through my telescope... just a field of gold dust (wish I could insert the image here, but can't). Freakin' incredible!! Well done.
Hi Chris, that gold is super tiny, as is the black and white sands, fascinating to think of the eroded mountain ranges once way over there, leaving occasional massive boulders scattered around the rolling countryside, but have you noticed which are the waterways these bigger boulders scatter along? We're guessing certain ones were fed by such glaciers, I ought read up on where they were, how extensive, and which ones (now remaining waterways) crossed them motherlode hillsides, scraping the gold ore or past alluvium, along with the ice and house-sized boulders. I'm sure the miners knew it'd pose a great challenge as paydirt, what a bucket of concentrates! You'd estimate it as fiddy red hammer buckets concentrated into one regular-size laundry powder bucket? If so, I'd guess you'd go over an ounce for the 100, we're showing our card in assuming it hasn't had it's conclusion! Onya, and heavy rubber clean-up sluice mats to you, of your own concentates! Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.
well done Chris , this shows there is still payable gold to be found in this area of N/east victoria . the old timers really only scratched the surface so to speak!.
What a sight. The old timers mustve been absolutely cheerin back in the day when working certain areas eh. Top vid as usual mate. Itd certainly change ya world with sluice that full after a days diggin... Onya 👍
We recently had a similar case of big eyes. It seems a large pile of flour gold weighs considerably less than a similar size pile of slightly coarser gold. By almost 50%. That fine flour just does not add up like coarser gold does. Weird. But science.
The claim owners were extremely kind to lend you some pay dirt to run! That shows you are a man to be trusted at highest regards. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Was a great opportunity
Hell ya, that's some rich stuff!
Great video, lots of respect to keep the claim private and your friends gold safe , I'm 1:47 into the video and already excited to see the collection

What an awesome opportunity to be offered!. Thank you for sharing.
Very interesting to see the difference in the gold from what you normally work with and the challenge it presented. Good stuff

SO MUCH FUN!!! And it looked to be mostly flour. Any chance you have a Miller table?
I do. The gold is round and travels on the miller table unfortunately

Hi from the UK, I really appreciate your work and channel, educational and entertaining….
At the point of 3 runs, wouldn't it make sense to put it in a furnace ( after drying)?
Cannons, Mortars are hella fun....
What about the Miller Table? 🤔 hmmm Must be anticipation.
Hey Chris, I know that it's glacial sediment but in my area of ancient floods I Always need a 5 or 6 screening process of graduated meshes
Now that was fun! Till next time!

We all wish we could have a sluice looking like that nice 👏👍
Would be so cool if they allowed you to keep the Au.,👍👍

Holy crap balls! That’s a lot of gold Chris! You have good friends lol!

How many m3 did they work to get that one bucket?
