All of my down jackets and sleeping bags all get dried in the dryer with 10 tennis balls. I’ve been doing it this way for over 30 years with my gear without one issue.

Not sure how these spays would not clog those holes that are designed to let the water vapor out

    Question
Just got the incinerator aerolite bibs and jacket.
Why does it say on the instructions do not tumble dry? How are you supposed to get the loft back? How do I treat and bring back the DWR finish on the Gore-Tex face ?
    Very confused

Get a fanatic and layer a puffy insulation piece under it. You get the warmth, insulation and windproof but cuts out the outer noise

We have you tried washing it?

Fanatic is deadly silent and warm

I had a crispy and rustly Goretex jacket. I quietened it down by using a small bottle of the boot-weight (fabric and leather) proofer instead a of regular Nikwax wash-in.

Do the same concepts apply to the aerolite lines?

What about wool? Do you need to treat it in any way to prevent moth?

I just got the jacket and the bibs same as yours washed them for the first time then I realize you cannot dry them in the dryer. That sucks for the money I spent on them I should be able to clean them easily and dry them.

What brand is it? Most aren't waterproof, but the have a DWR treatment to the outer fabric. It most likely just needs to be retreated.
Here's what we would recommend: www.blackovis.com/brands/nikwax/nikwax-tx-direct-wash-in

Nothing like spraying your hunting gear with a smelly dwr spray.
