I practically grew up on my grandfather's farm. Rex E Good was a well respected farmer, rancher and cotton gin manager in Carrollton. His grandfather, Noah Good, settled there from Virginia in the mid 1840's. For a boy especially, it was paradise riding around in my granddad's pickup "old blue" doing chores on the farm with him, taking occasional breaks for sodas at the ice house or drug store on the square or often finding time to stop by one of his lakes or creeks on his property to throw a fishing line in the water. It was farm country in those days. Carrollton has a great history. It baffles me why the city of Carrollton has not yet allocated any resources to establish a Museum, even a small one, to preserve its early history.
Im surprised this doesnt have more views. Ive lived here all my life. Kinda makes me wish I could go back to the earlier years to see what life was really like then.
I would like more info on the Morgans. They had that big house on crider rd.off 121 by the colony. Very interesting family, but hard to find a lot of info. I loved that old house it burned in 1999 and it was so sad.
