Bought shoes because of this review. Very happy with them, for anyone wondering: Sizing: spot on, wear size 9 in normal shoes and 9 in these. Fit is good, toe box has a little width to spare. They are slightly narrower mid foot. Previously wore size 9.5 powerlift 4. Price: paid £105, much cheaper than romaleo 4s which made the decision easy Heel height: Really good, was worried they would be too high but not the case. Low bar squats are easier than in powerlift 4, snatch mobility is improved. Was able to carry on my program with no adjustment time. (First session 5x5 squats at 152.5kg) General thoughts: look much better in real life than online. Lacing system is actually really good and tightens up all over with one pull. Overall a really nice shoe, looking forward to hitting some PRs in them!
Just got a pair of these in the mail, they are really great shoes. I was worried when you talked about having less stability in the squat than other shoes... but they felt more sturdy than my Adidas powerlift 4's I bought last year. So I guess YMMV
Got these for a great price a couple of weeks ago. Was between these and the Antas for me, but getting Antas here in the UK is nigh on impossible and v expensive so opted for the legacy 2s. Been very pleased with them so far although I would say the arch is a little aggressive for me.
Great content guys. Could you please make a video what to look for in a good barbell? Especially stuff that is available in EU - ATX, strength shop etc. Is Eleiko worth the price? What about Eleiko XF? Weightlfting House barbell etc. Thanks
I got a pair in us 7.5 and also one in us 8. in the smaller ones my big toe pinches the front of the tow box, but it’s not hurting. The rest feels super snug and no heels slip. The US 8, although is only a half number bigger has plenty more of toe box space, but I find that I have a bit of heel slip in them. So better for my toes, but I can force to slip out of the shoe when holding the heel to the ground. Do you maybe have an advice; does your big toe hit the front also? Thanks for any help! BR
Excellent review of a shoe I would never have dreamed of considering. I'm going to replace a number of ancient pairs of Adidas Ironworks (I usually buy lots of stuff I like) and I'm really just looking for a decent shoe for lots of squatting and pressing. Having not owned the first Legacys would the Legacy IIs be a good option? I very nearly pulled the trigger on a pair of the Romaleo 4s until I saw your review of them. Their issues aside they're really overkill for what I need in a shoe.
I honestly don't know why these shoes are so underrated. I got a pair 6 months ago and have been training in them 3-4 time a week strictly oly stuff and the shoes are phenomenal. We got a Christmas bonus from work and I was considering getting the Romaleos 4 and have tried several pairs from guys at my gym and they cant compare to the LL2. However, the Rom 4 still keeps a much higher pricetag and with quantities getting low you can find the LL2 for as cheap as 120 euros now and people still are choosing the Rom 4 which I dont understand.
I've done one session in mine so far and I haven't found anything I don't like yet, other than being concerned about the longevity of the soft toe area material. I wear size 11 US in everything and they fit right. They are a fair bit higher in the heel than Rom2s, because I put on one of each and could really feel it. Wearing one Leistung 2 and a Legacy 2 feel almost the same, Legacy's maybe a tiny bit lower. Definitely a bit wider than Adidas but Goblin footed people still won't be happy. A shoe they will like is the Reebok Nano 9 which have a crazy wide toe box, I've never worn a shoe that lets me spread my toes out that much. Absurdly high quality shoe overall too. Not a weightlifting shoe, but as a flat shoe for generally lifting weights and being athletic with stability they're perfect.
Being somebody cursed with goblin feet (EEE) I'm really lost in which ones to go for. I get mixed reviews, I had read that the Legacy 2 are made for wide feet, coming here only to read the exact opposite..
@@franciscohestnes Hi, I went for the Legacy Lifters 2. My feet are extremely wide AND thick. I went for my normal trainer size even though Reebok recommends to downsize. They fit perfectly with thick socks on. If I use thin socks I get heel slip. At the toes area, I feel my bigtoe touching the upper side of the shoe, but given the fact that the material is really soft it doesn't cause any discomfort. Overall I am really happy with them. Best of luck!
in your opinion, is it worth to upgrade from Legacy 1? the one thing I dont like about legacy 1 is they are not as grippy as I'd like (my OG adipower is very grippy) I heard Legacy 2 is brutally narrow in the midfoot...is it true?
I heard you speaking about the shoes not being ideal for squats. Saying that, you don't recommend them for powerlifters? My squat is around 240kg (530lbs). Something like the Romaleos 4 would be more beneficial?
@@sikastrength love the ASICS way more than R2 simply for the best toe-box that fit actual human feet. Would love to hear your review especially given how much you hate modern toe-boxes lol
Hi ☺just wondweing is there a difference between mens and womens sizing ? Like would it be ok for me to wear mens in these got a cheeper black friday discount 😂
go half size down, but better to measure your feet and look at the size chart and add 1cm to that. I wear size 10 in trail runners and had to go 9 in the legacy lifter 2. Nike Romaleos 4 in 10 is the same length as the legacy lifter 2 in 9.5
I wear Reebok shoes now every day. White with gum sole. Gonna get the cookies and cream ones like yours once I get to 184 kg on squats. I’ve decided! Edit: got them on sale. Too small. Returning tomorrow :(
flatter, less boot like and stiff, more comfortable to me. 9.5 in Rebook legacy 2 vs 10 in Romaleos 4. Same length when put side by side Yet the Nike has some heel slip. The Rom 4s also curve at the front and are so stiff that you can rock forward onto your toes when walking out a squat, but they do have better lateral stability due to being wider with the sole angled edges. Legacy 2 feel more athletic with a more flexible front end
Guys I'm size 10uk and i have wide feet. What lifting shoes to buy? Romaleos 2 are not selling any more...tried adidas leistung and they are way too narrow. It's almost impossible to buy any wide feet shoes these days. I need them for squatting only. Would Legacy Lifter 2 be ok? edit: Just found Romaleos 2 on ebay. Next time you're passing by just let me know and you can take them...
What is your opinion on the OG adipowers? I have them in this hideous trace cargo color and I'm thinking about buying new tekkers for aesthetic purposes only. It is worth the switch?
The red Adipowers were my favourite weightlifting shoe. Now I think the Legacy 2s are. The Reeboks feel quite similar in fit to Adidas but a bit roomier. If you've worn Romaleos, these feel a lot closer to Adipowers than Romaleos. They have a higher heel than Adipowers though, a very significant difference.
@@AfferbeckBeats wanna have the all black aesthetic but very little point in getting shoes that are quite similar and I think my heel height is good right now. I'll use them until they're worn out I guess. Thanks for the info tho!
@@AfferbeckBeats Do you find the Romaleos 2 to be a bit stuffy or hot? I've been training with a new pair of Romaleos 2 over the last two weeks after 5 years of using Adipowers. I like that the R2's have more lateral stability but my feet are so hot in them. The Adipowers were much more breathable. Wondering if I'm the only one with this issue.

This was the first media produced within sikastan that I ever watched and it caused me to buy these half off in canada.
Got a pair of these a few months ago for around $129 CAD. Super rigid and stable in the squat, and comfortable too. 10/10 would recommend.

The lacing situation on the legacy ones was pretty unique, but I'm a fan of the classic eyelet design on the legacy two's
The lace + strap system works well together on these, the big strap pulls well and keeps it snug I must say
Bulbous high little knobs are my favourite.

Nice review. What was your reasoning for why you wouldn't buy these for squats particularly? Is it just the forefoot area being less rigid?
