I like to place my parts on a ceramic tiles that way the burn marks from the base surface do not happen, the tile stays cold yet supports the wood or plastic. I have the NEJE 30W and love it so far. I wanted the 40W but since it cost 3 times more than the 30W I could not go for it. So glad to see the test you are able to do . Thank you.
Recently did cutting tests on 3mm acrylic, and going slow, the cut edges are razor sharp and very smooth. Personally I had no issues cutting orange, red, brown, maroon, blue, green, pink, and a handful of other colors. Basically, the only colors that didnt cut without trickery, was flourecents and clears.
I see ONE Problem from the start. You should not peal off the protection cover from the Acrylic because it will help the laser to focus and burn the first pass and maybe the second pass will manage to cut. And did you set the Z step / pass in the light burn? so it will make the laser drop 0.30mm for example on the second pass? so it will have a better focus on the second pass.
Thanks, all valid points, the blue and green came without the protective covering, so I took off the red's as well, I probably should have tried with it on first. I might stick some masking tape on it to see if that works. As for the Z step setting this laser does not have a Z axis so cant move up and down to change the focus, wonder if its something I can add.
@@makerz4247 Ooo, my bad... I have an Rotrics robot and that why it can move on Z. But on neje site and other youtubers I have read that the laser should not be focused on the top of the material but better in the middle, for thicker materials. Yes that tape should help.
If the protection cover is pvc you should definitely get rid of before cutting I managed to fck up my chrome rails due to chlorine released burning pvc Hope my lungs were not affected..
Nice demonstration, just a word of caution. either vacate the music or lower the volume. To all RUclipsrs, your content should be primary and music if you add it should be secondary. 1) We did not come here to listen to music and 2) it makes it difficult to hear what we came to see, it's distracting, if you do use music, it should be background level only. Otherwise, thank you for the DEMO of this little 40W laser,
Yep its the A40640 model, with dual laser and 15W output, but looks like some places advertise this as 40W and others as 80W, not sure what the difference is though.
Hello and thanks for the video. I have the 30w module and I use NEJE software. Could any speed equivalency be made between m/s (NEJE software) and mm/min (other softwares)?
Hi, thanks glad you liked it. There are some online conversion tools like this one: www.unitconverters.net/speed/meter-second-to-millimeter-minute.htm that will give you an idea, or at least a starting point, but from there its a bit of trail and error to get the correct settings
I did try but it does not work well at all. In fact I tried white acrylic as a waste board in another video. To cut light colors and transparent I would need a CO2 laser
I am convinced that the (black charred) waste board caused the melting. It's pretty hard for me to watch you make the same "mistake" over and over again in the same place. my Tip: I have purchased a grid (340 x 490 x 20 mm;
@@makerz4247 no, it's just a normal grating. I have a cheaper lasercutter than you and so I add only cheap things - but it works great :) www.amazon.de/gp/product/B06XRXZ9S5
the melting asnd burning on the back isnt because of the plastic its the wood behind it catching fire. set the plastic on blocks and it will cut perfectly
The same goes for cutting transparant. 100% 200mm/s Clear /transparant White :nope Transparant blue : engraving Transparant red :good Transparant green : mediocre

Good idea thanks, I will try that.
When cutting acrylic you are going to want to raise the acrylic above the surface so the laser doesn't heat the backside up from the surface under it.
Cool, thanks, I suspected that, I might try a few different options and see what works
I just came to say same thing, but Dennis said this before :)
a trick : watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Emilio Reign Yup, I've been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself =)

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I will take that into account next time.
I agree wholeheartedly!! Dump the music completely.
Is this the 40640 dual laser? I see the lasers with different power ratings and descriptions.

nice but, I was looking forward to you trying to cut the lighter colors with a diod laser!

I would love to see a comparison of this laser against the Endurance laser!
My neje 20w laser died after 7 days of experimenting with it. It cannot cut anymore. It can only mark as 1.5watt laser now.
Oh no. Sorry to hear. Were you able to replace under warranty?
The seller was not responding after I reported the issue, thank you

can cut acrylic gold????
hi it does not cut reflective material unfortunately
how about cutt white acrylic ?
In another video I tried to use white acrylic as a laser bed because it does not cut on this laser, ruclips.net/video/Rxgd1z0K6eA/видео.html
