I can’t tell you how delighted I was to see the gel nails were a right mess before filing. Made me feel not so bad about how mine look before I file mine😂.
@@Nailcou it just proved to me, doesn’t matter how bad they look after curing, it’s always fixable with a nail file. So many just show the perfect application with no spilled edges. Now I know what they aren’t showing 😂

I mean they’re no good if you’ve managed to get the edges all wonky but they’re fantastic for getting the bulk of the nail looking like it belongs to a human and not a creature from a horror movie. 😂 With me it’s the gel I use mainly and it ALWAYS seems to run, maybe because is hot out right now (in Scotland, that’s a rarity too). Can’t seem to find a gel that holds its shape and doesn’t just run lol.
@@Nailcou Although, I like the fact that Gel or Acrylic can make your nails stronger, depending on the product....putting layer after layer of the product can essentially damage the natural nail
You have NO IDEA how much your videos help people. As a 18 year old who’s going to take a nail course to become a certified nail technician, your videos teaches me little tricks and techniques that other creators don’t talk about. Even just little things like the uncured hard gel bubbles that you point out and give tips on how to prevent is very useful. Thank you for your videos ❤️

Same here. I don't trust anyone else doing my nails. They were chop shops to say the least. So I learned how to do mine when we were quarantined. I'm still not perfect but they look a lot better than when I first started lol.

Just that I think, that because I'm using my non-dominant hand, I am paying more attention and am more gentle (my poor nails on the left hand always end a little bit beaten up 🤭🤭).
WOW!!! Those nails were like a brick, they were soo thick! I have the Melody Susie Scarlet efile also and i love it... it cuts through hard gel soo easy and is very smooth. Beautiful nails as always.
I will admit to over-thickening my nails on purpose (I get skin ulcers and have an issue with scabs, making my nails thick means I can't pick at them and they actually heal), but I still least do them properly cured and in layers! Also with dip or acrylic as it's easier to add bulk with those and know they will cure vs gels or poly.
@@lisathomson3057 Yup. But I fon’t your scratching causes bleeding. 😏. Right now mine are pretty thin, VERY thin poly to make a tip and just a light dip. It's working so far.

I am an amateur doing my own nails but never, on my worst day, would I produce something like that! I always cure each layer for 60 seconds to be sure it’s good and hard. If she modeled for a beauty school I hope the person who did the work was corrected before they could turn bad mistakes into even worse habits. Peace, AM
Also white gel or polygel have a lot of pigment so it is harder to cure since the uv can't penetrate it past the pigment particles as well. Another reason is that white is hard to get dully white, so people pile it on a little more than usual so its opaque but THICK so it also won't cure as well.
Maybe as an idea for the next time when you spot liquid gel, maybe slightly clean it with alcohol like you did and then cure for 30 seconds. Afterwards you can proceed to file without ruining your handfile… ☺️ I love your videos by the way and learned how to do my own nails through them! Keep going! 🥰❤️
The nails at the beginning look like the first sets that i done. The nails i do still dont look perfect but im learning and i think they're getting better with each set

Now I’m just doing my own gel nails and trying to get as much education as I can. Sometimes you have to go thicc. 😁. I do it to stop my dkinulcer scratching, it's annoying, but I know if I don't it's a bigger medical issue for me. When not, I try to go thin.

Well they are at school for a reason, this may have been their first time doing hard gel, and they may have not been supervised. I remember my first acrylic set was so thick I spent so much time filing the nails down, sometimes we just use too much product as beginners

I had my melody susie scarlet efile recalled a few months ago ! there was some issue with electrocution ! i sent it back as requested and was refunded in full but i am now reluctant to buy the scarlet model again ,
I have two melody susie selene drills and they both have a loose contact where the cable connects to the hand piece. I decided to get a much better one now, the saeshin brillian B170.
Serious question i an not trying to be rude, I am just a novice that does my own nails. Why wouldn't you cure that old product instead of wiping it? Thank you! Loved the nails you did on your self! So pretty!
Curing the gel is an option too, of course ! I can’t really explain why I decided to go with wiping + using hand file and through it away , cause probably it would’ve been faster 🤔😄

So it can get the "bottom" of the thumb & cure it properly? Thank you for any insight.
The layer is too thick, the uncured layer is bound to occur. This is a lot of product. It's so uncomfortable to do your nails this way, this set is beautiful.

I tried at 7 000 and 15 000 rpm and sometimes the nail drill bit is slipping on the end of my free hedge which damages my natural nail. Do you have any advice that could help me to remove my gel polish safely? Many thanks ☺️
I’m one of those freaky ambidextrous people! But instead of things being easy, like BOTH hands are your dominant hand…it’s actually the opposite. Both hands are clunky & awkward, like non-dominant hands!😆
Daaamn, I never saw brick nails like that before. I started to do my own nails about 7 years ago and I started with gel, alway managed to make my nails thin because I like them to look as natural as possible and never had issues with lifting or breaking them. Now I have moved on to acrylic and polygel because I can make them even more natural looking without having to use any tips. I would literally go crazy after wearing these bricks aka nails for even one hour! 😂🧱💅
For some reason this drill always dies after a few months . I’ve gotten it twice and they both just stopped working after awhile. It worked great though

Ooh I have eczema and need to scratch. Even with dip powder nails they’re too thick to satisfactorily scratch! Diff people need different things huh?

The explanation about why the thumbs didn't cure as well was perfect for me!

I just did black poly and remembered this so went super thin for a few layers, worked well.
This! I did a set of white polygel and it didn't cure fully in the middle. I could squeeze my nail and polygel would come out the top.

I’m always sure to rotate my fingers in the lamp and do 2 or 3 cures. ESP with just the thumb.

I think white or black accent lines around the petals and following some of the veining is all this set needed.
I have this drill and I love it. The only issue I have with mine is the power button sometimes jams.
