      @@Nailcou it just proved to me, doesn’t matter how bad they look after curing, it’s always fixable with a nail file. So many just show the perfect application with no spilled edges. Now I know what they aren’t showing 😂

    • @Saitaina

      @@JadeLeaf1980 you should have seen my poly nails this week. Whoo boy was that a right blunder. Pretty sure I wore out my arm trying to whip it into shape.

      @@Saitaina I know the feeling. Thank god for e files now at least. I mean they’re no good if you’ve managed to get the edges all wonky but they’re fantastic for getting the bulk of the nail looking like it belongs to a human and not a creature from a horror movie. 😂
      With me it’s the gel I use mainly and it ALWAYS seems to run, maybe because is hot out right now (in Scotland, that’s a rarity too). Can’t seem to find a gel that holds its shape and doesn’t just run lol.

    You have NO IDEA how much your videos help people. As a 18 year old who’s going to take a nail course to become a certified nail technician, your videos teaches me little tricks and techniques that other creators don’t talk about. Even just little things like the uncured hard gel bubbles that you point out and give tips on how to prevent is very useful. Thank you for your videos ❤️

    I also dislike doing my own nails, but at the same time I don't trust anyone else to do it for me. However, I seem to always do a better job with my non dominant hand, so the nails on my right hand end up looking amazing.

      Same here. I don't trust anyone else doing my nails. They were chop shops to say the least. So I learned how to do mine when we were quarantined. I'm still not perfect but they look a lot better than when I first started lol.

      @@RaggieGirl8542 I thought the same, but last time I measured how long it takes me and it's the same, sometimes even faster. I will admit to over-thickening my nails on purpose (I get skin ulcers and have an issue with scabs, making my nails thick means I can't pick at them and they actually heal), but I still least do them properly cured and in layers!
    Also with dip or acrylic as it's easier to add bulk with those and know they will cure vs gels or poly.

    • @lisathomson3057

    I am an amateur doing my own nails but never, on my worst day, would I produce something like that! I always cure each layer for 60 seconds to be sure it’s good and hard. If she modeled for a beauty school I hope the person who did the work was corrected before they could turn bad mistakes into even worse habits. Peace, AM

    The explanation about why the thumbs didn't cure as well was perfect for me!

  • @kellynaz9256
    @kellynaz9256 3 года назад +45

    Also white gel or polygel have a lot of pigment so it is harder to cure since the uv can't penetrate it past the pigment particles as well. Another reason is that white is hard to get dully white, so people pile it on a little more than usual so its opaque but THICK so it also won't cure as well.

    • @Saitaina
      @Saitaina 3 года назад +6

      I just did black poly and remembered this so went super thin for a few layers, worked well.

    Maybe as an idea for the next time when you spot liquid gel, maybe slightly clean it with alcohol like you did and then cure for 30 seconds. Afterwards you can proceed to file without ruining your handfile… ☺️

Now I’m just doing my own gel nails and trying to get as much education as I can. Is that bad for the nail? The uncured gel. Would that cause infection or anything if left for the normal 2-3 wks

    I think white or black accent lines around the petals and following some of the veining is all this set needed.

    I have this drill and I love it. The only issue I have with mine is the power button sometimes jams.

    I’m one of those freaky ambidextrous people! But instead of things being easy, like BOTH hands are your dominant hand…it’s actually the opposite. Both hands are clunky & awkward, like non-dominant hands!😆

    Daaamn, I never saw brick nails like that before. I started to do my own nails about 7 years ago and I started with gel, alway managed to make my nails thin because I like them to look as natural as possible and never had issues with lifting or breaking them. Now I have moved on to acrylic and polygel because I can make them even more natural looking without having to use any tips. I would literally go crazy after wearing these bricks aka nails for even one hour! 😂🧱💅

    For some reason this drill always dies after a few months . I’ve gotten it twice and they both just stopped working after awhile. It worked great though
