      @johndelabretonne2373 6 месяцев назад

      @@roki977It's not really a "refresh." nVidia is starting to wind down production of 40 Series chips, so they will be substituting some of the chips in cards like the 4060, 4060 ti, and 4070 with lower binned chips from the next tier of chips that didn't make the cut. For instance, the 4060 ti currently uses AD106, but some of the newer cards will be coming with an AD104 at its core, but with the exact same performance characteristics of the AD106 chip. These chips would basically be e-waste otherwise, so this is essential free money for nVidia.

And even the Low-/ Mid-range cards will probably be slightly under/over $1K maybe even much more seeing the performance increase on these cards Nvidia might want way way way more money than ever before I wouldn't be surprised if the 5090 was somewhere between $5K-$8K or even $10K we're talking about Nvidia here that wants $200 more for just 4GB of VRAM and like 5% performance increase and the new Blackwell chips cost them billions so they probably want that money back soon.

    @AnonymousUser-ww6ns 6 месяцев назад

    I’ll be honest, if I were buying a brand new Nvidia GPU right now. I would go for the 4070TI SUPER. The reason is because it has 16GB VRAM on a 256 bit memory bus which should be fine for 4-5 years, performs similar to the normal 4080, and performs well in 1440p. If there were to be a price drop on it because of the 5070 I believe it will only lose $100-200. But honestly I can’t predict the market anymore with Nigreedia overcharging and putting China and AI first over the consumer.
    Honestly unless you need the Nvidia Features such as DLSS, AI, AutoCAD, and Blender. I would just go for AMD and pick up either the 7800XT or 7800GRE depending on the price. Also if I feel like the value is there I might even consider the 7900XT or 7900XTX.

    While I see this sentiment constantly amplified in discussions here on RUclips, I simply couldn't disagree more with the entire premise of this video. I would say that the 4070 ti Super is just as bad (if not worse) of a purchase vs a 4090 "at MSRP." First off, I don't expect that anyone will actually be able to buy a 5090 this year, but when it does launch, it'll probably be around $2400 mainly because of low supply/shortages. And the 5080 will be about the performance of the 4090, but with less VRAM for about $1300-1400. However, AMD will be launching the 8800 XT with better than 4070 ti Super performance at $500. So, in this hypothetical, you're losing about the same amount of money both ways, but with the 4070 ti Super, that's nearly half of the value that you have in the card lost... The 8800 XT will push pricing down for pretty much everything from the 4080 Super on down, but maybe less so with the 7900 GRE at $525-550 - because the 8800 XT will be around the performance of a 7900 XT, and an overclocked 7900 GRE can get pretty close to that! The only reason the 3090 lost so much value was because you had a 3080 that was nearly half the price with 90% of the performance. And then the 4090 launched at the same price, and the 4080 was also significantly faster than the 3090 for less than the MSRP, even though the 4080 was one of the worst value GPUs in history with a $1200 launch price. And then the 4070 ti launched, and it was also basically faster than the 3090 as well, even with half the VRAM.
    I'm the current market, I'd say the only thing really worth buying right now is either a 6700 XT / 6750 XT for $300-330, or a 7900 GRE at $525-550, and if you're in the market for a $1600 graphics card, the 4090 at MSRP will hold enough of it's value to be worth a year of use, and with 24GB of VRAM, it'll have a lot more staying power than any other card on the market!

    Taiwan just had a serious earthquake. Anyone know if TSMC was impacted. If they were prices may go up soon. It not, then wait if you want next gen and can wait. If you need something in the next couple of weeks then don't wait. If you're likely fine for at least year but just want to upgrade then waiting makes a lot of good sense. I'm suspecting a 5060 may be better than the 3060TI I currently have. So might a 8700xt. Not in a hurry though. I have few push the limits games. Another problem a lot of people have is using last gen (or later) CPU's where we find the 4090 is often bottlenecked at *EVERY* resolution by CPU's like the 5600X and 13600K. Heck, even the 4080 is running into this issue at 1440P and below, using raytracing with Ultra settings in AAA games. With DLSS off! Let's say the 5090 is $2200, and the 5080 is 15% faster than the 4090 but comes in at $1200. You very well may get better overall performance spending $400 on a high-end CPU, $200 on a motherboard and $150 on new RAM. You'd basically end up with a new system (albeit importing your old storage and PSU) for $250 less than a 5090, or the same price if the 5090 is $2K and not $2200. I have a very hard time believing it will be under $2,000, and even if it is, it's availability is probably going to be horse trash for quite some time.
    We also have to think about displays. If you are using a 1440P display your performance may top out at a 4080/5060Ti level regardless of the CPU unless devs start making games like Frontiers of Pandora and Alan Wake the _low_ end of the technical totem pole. With more and more 27" 1440P OLED's and 32" 4K Oled's coming in at $700 or less, with more on the horizon from companies like AOC and Sceptre, your best experience might be a used 4080 Super and a new 4K display paired with wtv CPU you currently have (well Zen 3/Intel 12th gen or better). Of course if you have $5K set aside for a full system revamp then none of that matters, but if you are in the $2K max on your PC this year, holding off definitely seems like the way to go in my opinion. 4080 Supers are starting to pile up at one of the semi-local Best Buys in my area (lol, one of them has only gotten 6 since launch, the other has about 30 including 10 at MSRP in stock as of yesterday) so it looks like now that Nvidia has had to ship a few more of them, they aren't selling at quite the rate it initially appeared. The other cards are simply nowhere near worth the prices in my opinion. Even the discounted 4070's look silly when put side by side with 7800XT's, 7900GRE's and absolutely ridiculous next to 7900XT's.
    The only thing that really irks me about this generation, especially since it looks like I am going to have to upgrade my 5800X and display when I switch off this hugely VRAM bottlenecked 3080 FE is AMD not touching the high end. I'll be thrilled if they have a 7900 GRE performing card for $350 bucks, but I'd much rather see a 8900XT to save myself a few hundred bucks as I upgrade 90% of my setup at once. Bad timing I tell ya. Better for the masses, but worse for me :^( .

Have been encoding 1080p shows at ~290FPS in handbrake with a file size reduction of ~70% and no obvious quality loss compared to the original file. Now i'm out of the GPU market for at least the next 3 years. Hopefully in 3 years time, Intel can get its 18A process node sorted out and deliver proper competition to AMD without needing a nuclear reactor to power it since AMD has basically became full Anakin Skywalker, becoming the thing they sworn to destroy (look at the launch price of Ryzen 5000 and 7000 series).
