I think Stu was fruity if anything. But he does say “I always had a thing for you Sid!” Maybe Stu is bi? Maybe he’s straight? Maybe he’s just crazy?! Actually he’s sane because he knows what he’s doing is wrong he just doesn’t care.
I feel like they made it soooo obvious Billy was the killer but Stu was the shocking factor. Every time there was a murder Billy pops up. There is only so many coincidences before you begin to suspect someone.
i think it might have been referenced in bee and puppycat at the temp agency. "you took too long, now yo candy's gone. that's what happens *BOO-GAH!* i hope it's a scream reference
I think that’s why this movie unnerved me so much. Like Billy had his own reasonings for it, Stu did it because he thought it was fun. He was likable, funny, and a good friend and so when you found out that he killed purely for entertainment, it was like “Jesus Christ.”
it kinda reminds of the columbine shooting. i can’t remember which is which but one of them hated everyone and everything and was just angry at the world and the other one just wanted to die. i wonder if they watched this movie and agreed with billy and stu
It’s kinda like difference between a psychopath and a sociopath, billy is killing for revenge and because he’s not right in the head and Stu is killing because he fins the thrill entertaining, both mirroring real world narcissist but Stu comes off as more friendly throughout the movie whilst billy comes off as deranged and a little off the whole time
He didn’t do it for fun, did you even watch? He did it out of peer pressure and was afraid yet wanted to please billy. Even being more concerned with his parents opinion over the police shows how deeply influenced he was by being liked.
Stu was that dude we all grew up with who had an obsession with a cool guy like Billy. After knowing the ending and rewatching it, he does whatever Billy says and wants throughout the movie. Billy shows little to no emotion, constantly planning his next move. But even cause himself stupid in the hallway when he made a mistake. Stu makes a mistake, and Billy corrects him every time. He always tries to justify his actions too. "It's a joke," trying to get approval from Billy lol. Stu didn't even know why Billy wanted to kill Syndey or her mother. Look at the shocked look he has when Billy reveals the affair. Stu even praises Syndey, saying he had a thang for her before she kills him lmao.
Wes Craven actually told Matthew Lillard he would win an Academy Award one day and then called his parents and told his mom that. It’s a shame he hasn’t been nominated for an Oscar yet.
Ikr? I did not guess Stu of all characters would be a killer. The fact that Scream had two killers is probably one of the biggest plot twists in movies, I never saw that coming at all
My fav line from Stu that gets me all the time is “peer pressure” 😂 like the way he delivers that line is so funny, I didn’t realize he roasted gal until I seen this vid “still does”
Also imagine that it took five days to film the kitchen scene alone, with that exhausting level of energy in the entire scene. But wearing themselves out is probably also what brought out the best material.
Yes in the live action theatrical films of Scooby Doo and then voice him in other Scooby Doo shows since 2010 and in Direct to Video films replacing Casey Kasem
I still find it hard to believe that this dude was one of the killer in the first Scream then became live action Shaggy Rogers and now is our favorite springlock victim William Afton
Best part which most people I think don't hear is when the phone rings while they are looking for Sid and he says "Should I let the machine get it"? LMAO
The best part about Stu is how much Matthew Lillard is clearly enjoying himself, bro was born for this role and embraced it completely. Even in modern interviews you can tell he's still a massive fan
You are correct! I’m reading the script for “Scary Movie” and it’s not in the script. Also some minor changes. It’s cool to read what was originally planned and how different it turned out. Sidney actually watches her dad drive off to the airport the morning after (changed in movie because Stu totally broke in and kidnapped the dad while Billy was hooking up with Stu. We can tell because the dad’s outfit never changes) Also there’s a great scene when Casey basically faints after Steve’s death and she turns off the patio lights to pretend as if he’s not there. It’s dark but very realistic.

My two favorite lines
"Peer pressure. I'm far too sensitive"
"My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me."
"Should I let the machine get it?"
That peer pressure shit gets said on the daily around here. 25 years and counting.
"peer pressure" that shit had me dyinggggg
Don’t forget about “I’m feeling a little woozy here!”
“You hit me with the PHONE! You DICK!”
The fact that Stu was more scared of his parents then the police is just too funny for me

Honestly me too
Relatable king
In all honesty, that’s good parenting. But they must have fucked up enough to create him 😂

Stu is the funniest character in the movie which makes it way more disturbing once you find out he’s the killer
Exactly
Ikr
The whole time I knew it's him and billy, lol
frr 💀
@elizabeth chess same but in one scene for me i think i thought stu was acting odd- i never expected two killers though
Matthew Lillard is a national treasure and Stu is his best character.
Have you seen SLC Punk. He was great in that too😍
I would argue Shaggy

"Peer pressure.. I'm far too sensitve"

That actually kinda made me sympathise with Stu for a moment
@Tazdivil don't he purely did it cause it is fun he the true evil Billy just out for blood and a whimp cause can't handle the abandonment issues

I always gathered this as well. Very impressionable and easily indoctrinated. Also some fan theories he was in love with Billy.
Matthew Lillard didn't know of the motive actually..that scene was his raw reaction.
