First off thank you so much for sharing!!! Second thing, I'm sure you know but, just in case you don't, Canva allows you to add links to other pages. So when you export as a PDF it'll do what you're doing here. I just learned this tonight after I watched yours and had to share in case someone else didn't know this.
Ahhhh. You are such a saint. Thank you. I had a vision in my head for what I wanted to create but wasn't sure what the best tools were to create them in.
Yay!!! So happy to hear that! The best tool is indesign for sure but it is quite expensive. Canva is okay for design. The links don’t always work tho :( aaaand the biggest thing is that you can only create 200 pages. However, you can use Canva for designs and LibreOffice for hyperlinks :)
I have paid so much money for canva/etsy courses this month, and wish I could've just found this video! This is so awesome and easy to follow. Thank you !
I was trying to design a digital planner watching another YT Video/Channel. The person teaching only had portrait style. But for the life of me I could get the rulers to be perfect without first making a guide with an element. The presenter made the design an inch bigger in both directions and made faux pages to make it feel more real .. after research I noticed most online are landscape
Hi, Wendy, if you are planning to sell your digital planner I’d highly recommend to create both versions. So I’d test the horizontal version first & then if it works well & you get sales, I’d try the vertical one as well ☺️
Great video, thank you!! I learned a lot. I have a question though: Are we supposed to make an editable version of the PDF so that we can add our notes, or is it supposed to be printed? DO you have any videos on how to create editable PDFs?
Thank you so much for taking your precious time to share this great video. Because of it, I learned to do some new things on Canva and Google slides. Question: Do you happen to have any video showing how to create a planner each month that would have, for example, the month of March, separate pages (daily planner) for each day in March, and a weekly planner in one pdf?
Brilliant video. I've watched a few over the weekend, but your planner looked the best. What I cannot seem to find out is how people can use the planner if we sell it digitally. How do they write in it?
This square idea…You’re genius! i wish i could see your video before i made my planner but i can do it for my another planners 🤗 I think hyperlink is more difficult when you do the months separately. Do you have any suggestions about it?
Honestly, the best way to go around it is to buy a template with hyperlinks ready for either Indesign or Affinity publisher & then add your designs to them.
However, if there are any links you could keep the same throughout all the pages, then just copy & paste them. Otherwise, think about which hyperlinks are actually adding value to the client and add those only. Besides that, unfortunately, it is a lot of manual labor:)
Thanks for your video, excellent. One question, why you worked the hyperlinks in Google Slides, can it be done with Canva or doing hyperlinks with Canva generate problems? Greetings, thanks again
Loved this! Do you happen to have the first version (not the pink boxes, just the grey ones with coloured tabs) for sale? I'd happily buy and use it! 😃
Thank you so very much! So helpful! Do you have another video on having the tabs move as you click each page, so it would look more like using a planner? Would I have to make a separate page for each in Canva, then add hyperlinks to both sides in Slides?
Oh my gosh this was so great and I learned so much from your tutorial! Thank you so much for this!! I did have a question about hyperlinking the days of the week. At the end of the video you mentioned that but I wasn't sure how to go about it? Where can I link it to, should I create separate pages for the days of the week or something else? I’m glad someone got the joke haha and I’m super happy it’s helpful:) depends on what you want to do but I’d create one in portrait mode and see how it looks like. All three devices have different screen size so it’s difficult to create one planner that would match all of them.

So the hyperlinks are usually linked to specific objects, not the background. So basically you can change the background as much as you want as long as you have all the hyperlinked buttons on the top. I hope that answers your question:)

I've went back a few steps and retried it several times, slide number 2 is still not transferring over to the edit theme. Thanks, please help. Everything was going so perfect. 🙂🙁
Hello, Pamela, first of all, thank you so much for leaving such a lovely comment. As for your digital planner, try to copy "slide 2" and then go to themes and paste it there:)
Do you have a tutorial on how to design a digital yearly planner? I started making one but Canva won't let me add more pages because it's too long. I can't get past 160 pages. I was trying to do Monthly/Weekly/Daily style for busy business owners. Any advice?
I came across your video on the hunt to understand the legal requirements to sell a product created on Canva. I have canva pro and wanted to know if you can download it as a PDF and sell it as a PDF for Goodnotes or Notability etc? So many videos have said you can only sell items made on canva using a link which is then to be used/edited on canva. I get that you will need to use multiple elements to make it original, it is the part of can you sell it as a pdf that is so confusing 🤦♀
Hello, Kerry, you can sell the pdf but you have to make sure that you change the design elements. For example, you can’t just take a template, turn it into a pdf and then sell it. However, you can change that template and then sell it as a pdf. Make sure to change the colors, move things around, change the fonts, etc. :)
Hey I just found out about this and actually could in the future buy one as it's more clever than an agenda and fastar and fucntional than just adding tasks to the phone's calendar. So I wanted to know on canva, for example for the calendar, so you have the sample already and on the left editor you ahve the images you want to add as a background, how do I do that? Thanks! Hope I was clear enough I wanted to put here a direct link image but can't seem to find snipit.
If you download it from Google Slides, then you can just upload it to GoodNotes or Notability or any other editing app (the free one is Xodo) & use your planner on your iPad:)
Thank you for this video, it's very helpful. I have tried doing this but once I opened the final PDF and after zooming in the planner is pixelated (even after downloading high-resolution PNG from Canva) Any tips? Thank you
On the phone it is different. In that case, go to the elements and choose a rectangle shape. You can try searching for rectangle in search. You should see the elements button on the bottom.:)
Why do it like this rather than in bound documents, because they will bound it for you. Is it solely because its a digital planner and not making it to print? Would we change it if we wanted a printed version?
Hi, not silly at all ;) You can do that by reversing the US letter size. I choose the size in 1:13 of this video. Just type in 11 x 8.5 in. as a custom size and you will have a horizontal planner ❤
of course, the reason we don't do it on Canva is that sometimes the links don't work after you link them there. :) The best way I have ever found to do the hyperlinks is either in InDesign (but it's paid) or LibreOffice (it's free). I have a tutorial on that too: ruclips.net/video/fLjtSGX2ORs/видео.html But the main reason my own choice would be these programs is that they allow you to create digital planners with more than 250+ pages. Canva only allows 250 if you are lucky:)
@@LifestyleDIYW yay, I am so happy to hear that! You can make an even more realistic version but then you may need either Photoshop or at least Procreate ;)
That is a tricky one, ideally you’d want to use indesign for those cases. BUT I do have a free solution that I will post a tutorial of probably next week:)
@@yvonnegonzalez9794 Hi, yes, I did, sorry I didn't post the link here! Here it is: ruclips.net/video/Re1u9B3LlRA/видео.html this is the way to do it for free.
@RealisticPlanner I'm a bit confused with the sizing of the document...So basically you're using US letter landscape and dividing it into two so you have two pages. Did I understand correctly?
Hi! So if you have the template in Canva, you can easily do that. In case you don’t, you could still add a square image on the text and then add your own. However, its better to have the Canva template, that way you can edit everything and just upload it to Google slides
@@RealisticPlanner when I Add the square image and the new text Is the hyperlink will be still working? And how can I do that because I don't have Ipad.. I know I can do that on canva but some pdf is more than 100 MG so is there anything else?
@@ayoubjoughmane it's better to do that in Google Slides, Powerpoint or Keynote:) Canva's links are pretty unpredictable. So it's way better to do that on the other platforms. Or Indesign for that matter. However, if the link is already there and you just put a square image in Canva and export that document as PDF Standard, it should work. But as I've mentioned before, Canva's links just don't work sometimes. Really, for no reason.:)
I'm trying to create a digital planner in canva. after 26 pages. canva says the file size is too large. does adding a lot of color affect it? I'm planning to make 200 pages... hic
Hi, it’s never happened to me before but here are a couple of things that I would do:) 1. Export everything as individual PNG images. 2. Go to compresspng.com and compress all the images. 3. Make sure that the page size you are choosing on Canva isn’t to big. I’d go for the US letter size. 4. Upload all the compressed images to your Google slides and add hyperlinks there. You can create multiple pages on Canva that way and use Google slides for the final result. Google slides allows 200 slides. Powerpoint -has an unlimited number of slides. You could also use keynote if that’s your preference. I hope this helps!:)
@@nolimitkk2715 I personally would create the designs on Canva but wouldn't repeat the same pages. I'd do that part in Google Slides. Would it be useful if I made a detailed video on that?

Hi, sorry for just getting back to you! Yes, actually Canva has some
This infographic is pretty helpful: www.canva.com/learn/canva-shortcuts-infographic/
And on Canva itself you can see them next to the buttons:)
How do we create for planner more than 100 pages? And how to link the hyperlinks if need to merge the pdf?
That is a tricky one, ideally you’d want to use indesign for those cases. BUT I do have a free solution that I will post a tutorial of probably next week:)
@@RealisticPlanner I'm excited for the next week.
@@RealisticPlanner Yes please! I’ve been stuck for a week 😩
Hi! Did you ever post the solution by the way for this?
@@yvonnegonzalez9794 Hi, yes, I did, sorry I didn't post the link here! Here it is: ruclips.net/video/Re1u9B3LlRA/видео.html this is the way to do it for free.
where do i find the hold option key please?
Hi, you can find it here: images.app.goo.gl/sDz1FrBtMmVvT82t8 :)
@RealisticPlanner I'm a bit confused with the sizing of the document...So basically you're using US letter landscape and dividing it into two so you have two pages. Did I understand correctly?
I want to ask you
Is there any way to edit and change the original text of the template of digital notebooks/planners ?
Hi! So if you have the template in Canva, you can easily do that. In case you don’t, you could still add a square image on the text and then add your own. However, its better to have the Canva template, that way you can edit everything and just upload it to Google slides
@@RealisticPlanner when I Add the square image and the new text
Is the hyperlink will be still working?
And how can I do that because I don't have Ipad.. I know I can do that on canva but some pdf is more than 100 MG so is there anything else?
@@ayoubjoughmane it's better to do that in Google Slides, Powerpoint or Keynote:) Canva's links are pretty unpredictable. So it's way better to do that on the other platforms. Or Indesign for that matter. However, if the link is already there and you just put a square image in Canva and export that document as PDF Standard, it should work. But as I've mentioned before, Canva's links just don't work sometimes. Really, for no reason.:)
@@RealisticPlanner oh ok thank you very much I appreciate 🙏🏻
Very helpful! Although, I didnt quite understand how you insert the days pages and setup with the master theme?
Thank you for your comment! I am currently sick but once I am better, I will make a specific and more detailed video about that:)
@@RealisticPlanner Take your time !
@@lsxw123 Thank you! ❤❤❤
I had the same question on how to add the days? Did that video ever get posted?
Yes having the same issue as well.
@@nolimitkk2715 I personally would create the designs on Canva but wouldn't repeat the same pages. I'd do that part in Google Slides. Would it be useful if I made a detailed video on that?
@@RealisticPlanner Yes pls , because I don’t want to have to take pages out my planner.
@@nolimitkk2715 Perfect, I will try to create it either tomorrow or by latest next week:)
this might be really silly but I'm not able to deselect:") idk why:"")
You didn’t show us the most important part, how do I export it?
why not use the rulers instead of squares to align the pages
Definitely use rulers if it's more comfortable to you:)
yay 💛
you can already add hyperlinks on canva why would you also use google slides to do the same thing
Hey, many times Canva links don’t work properly:) so yes, you can add them but if you are going to add 10+ links, I’d use a different program
I couldn’t even get past the first two mins😢 us letter is giving me a vertical document can someone help
They're helping me but I don't need help. Haha. That's what I say.
Even better haha
You go entirely too fast. I could hardly follow. You are great at what you do but oh boy too fast.
If you zoom into the page... you can make the element smaller.
Thank you!
how did she get horizntal view!!!!!!
Why not just create margins?
Sorry, but I watched this till the end and no idea why you did all this steps, not clear in terms of practicing for the buyers how this planner can be used by them. Also, how do we export it into Etsy or other platforms.
Congratulations as you did monetize this video from my time.
Are you married ?
Yes, I have a partner:)
@@RealisticPlanner I have a question please . The scanner in etsy is not working
@@abderrahimaitbouch570 Hi could you specify what kind of scanner?
@@RealisticPlanner Thank you, things went well
@@RealisticPlanner Can you talk to me on WhatsApp? I need to ask you a lot of questions regarding Etsy and Planner
