"RUclips is suffering" is the perfect shower thought, because the platforms are becoming the literal algorithms of desire, with ads that make profit when they influence our desire. 🤯
That's a fact, content being created to satisfy the algorithm that's being catered towards children while most growing teens stay on this platform. It is literal brain rot unless you actually find the channels that falls astray towards the algorithms desire which more often than not gets shadowbanned. Short form content becoming widespread all throughout social media platforms to keep us focus with our ever decreasing attention. The movie "idiocracy" is becoming more real than just a mere work of fiction. Even students doesn't even need to learn anymore with ai being prominent during our time and age. Actual research and literary writing is slowly being replaced with ai. What a time to be alive, ain't it?

The young in Kenya have tasted so much oppression and despair, yet during the last months it looks like a great shift in their collective sentiment has reached a critical mass towards a persistent state of unrest, which could very well slowly change the local conditions without allowing for much compromise. The Karma troubles all the living beings. If you want something good, you can't stop wanting on it and if you don't want the bad things, you feel too bad when you have them. So the buddhists need to understand the truth of troubles like the body's just a burden to control and vanish their karma which creates temper, eagerness and unwillingness making the people conduct good or bad. The practice makes perfect. You gotta practice your mind by restricting your willingness and unwillingness all the time by your unconsciousness on your consciousness and then emphasize on your appearing and disappearing thoughts until you see the appearance and disappearance of your thoughts leading to action through feelings by your neglecting. Zen helped me overcome my depression by changing the way I view depression and sadness. They're a natural part of life. They come and go like the wind.
I interviewed a Lama at a local Buddhist temple. Got his doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Florida and he referred to Buddhism as “a science of the mind.”

Around 15:20 you point out that Buddhists can escape Samsara by accumulating merit (good karma). I’d like to point out that this is not actually true. One can achieve a more favorable rebirth with good karma, but will still be within the cycle of rebirth.
As a sort of hedonistic person for most of my life, I’ve had moments of discipline and I know that my life would be “better” if I let go of my addictions and slept right. But during my meditations and my dip into the “Gateway process” (still learning it and studying the declassified files and tapes) I’ve constantly come back to the question of “if I’m here for a short time regardless and tomorrow isn’t promised to have me in it, then why not enjoy as much as I want without hurting others?” And I know that’s just the addiction talking but also why not indulge my body while I’m here? I smoke weed and drink soda, I want to look a certain way and act a certain way, why deny my human form these pleasures? Edit: also I’ve developed my world view to a point where I believe we are just shells, like we are a “VR experience” for our souls, we put on the suit and come into this game we call life, and there’s many many many infinite amounts of possibilities and scenarios that may take place but it’s all just a game, and my only conflict with that view currently is that suffering and pain exist and the people not enjoying their lives would probably say they did not choose to be in pain and or suffering. But I also look at it like this: if you were an infinite cosmic being and you had nothing to do for eternity, at least for me, I’d be doing exactly what Near Death Experience-ers describe the afterlife as, which is that we are all one and we are each just individual souls who recognize they are part of the one but also are their own beings who can make separate free will choices. Part of living forever means you’d eventually be sick and tired of pleasures, you’d want some pain to spice things up and or you’d want to be the bad guy. So idk. It makes sense to me? But also I feel like sometimes I can’t just say that because then people would assume I think ‘it’s fair for those suffering right now to continue doing so’ and I do not think that. Even though it’s a game, we shouldn’t be actively sabotaging or hurting others. I think a goal of the game would be to achieve a good ending. And I believe their may also be universes where we get the bad ending and shit really goes bad, there’s probably realities where I don’t exist or the human race never evolved the way we did to have larger brains and so we died off. I’m just saying I would like to get the good ending, I don’t think anyone should be suffering if we can help them and currently we have a small group of people hoarding the wealth of the planet, we need to make the world a better place and tax the rich more, pay workers fair wages, abolish the police system and start a new system from the ground up, same with our governments, make modern rules that aren’t allowing the same old fucks to continue fucking over the world because they can’t be bothered or they might lose money if they change certain laws
I don't find any kind of argument with your assertion. However, I would mention that there is a satisfaction that I get when I exercise some self-discipline. By prioritizing the comfort of your future self over that of your current self, you can become your own primary source of dopamine. When I wake up in the morning and my dishes are all already clean from the night before, I'm grateful that I don't have to wash one. A free little dopamine spike. By living this way we are constantly remembering the past with gratitude, and looking forward with consideration.
From the Buddhist perspective you acknowledge that these "pleasures" are what's leading you to suffer throughout your lifetimes. Smoking weed for too long can lead to cancer and drinking soda excessively can lead to diabetes; every carnal pleasure we can experience leads back to suffering either physically or psychologically.
@@Prokoptonic_starlight I like to think I’m aligned to this way of thinking, I recognize the risks my choices bring in the form of cancer and diabetes and heart failure in my family is common so not great for me to stress my heart constantly, but i also wanna say that in my meditations I often have the thought of “is it really me who wants to indulge in xyz?” And then I recognize it’s my ego who wants these worldly experiences, I recognize I’m trying to convince myself to allow myself to indulge and I often try to consciously think about why I’m making my choices I make. I often land at the conclusion that wether I do or don’t indulge I will continue to suffer in other aspects, one of which is simply living with the fact that I sometimes don’t indulge in my wants and cravings for something like sugary food or junk food in general, or I don’t smoke for a couple days because I simply don’t want my body to do so for a while and I suffer in the form of cravings and being agitated. Which is kinda why I accept the bad things happening in the world with this view. If I have my arm blown off in a hospital that got bombed while I was there visiting my family, and then I get bandaged up and talk to those around me about how horrible our life is, of course I won’t enjoy that specific moment but, I will enjoy anything positive that much more because I know what it’s like to live in (by human standards) insufferable pain. Imagine just sitting down after 9 months of being in hell and not having an arm, and you get to drink a cold soda, or smoke a joint with a loved one, or even just see a loved one. I think those who suffer their entire life and feel as though nothing will ever go right, are younger souls. They don’t realize how much they will experience that’s good and happy, and are so focused on the suffering because they lack the knowledge of living through many lifes of suffering and also positive life’s On the other hand if all of this is wrong and we are just a spec of dust on a spec of dust in a giant ocean of dust, then it doesn’t matter anyway and none of this will be significant in 10,000 years
How would you be able to define happiness, beauty, pleasure, good, harmony, peace, bliss, and love without its counterparts. The World is not all 100% only suffering. We suffer more in our minds than in reality. The world has aspects of suffering and aspects of bliss. It is for the most part our reaction to life that can cause suffering. Unless you are seriously physically or mentally injured to the point of not being able to heal, you're not really suffering. Disease, injury, financial hardships, etc...are momentary suffering, not permanent suffering. And, what doesn't kill you, does make you stronger, so in the future, you won't suffer as much or even at all from the same type of hardship. Life is neutral for the most part, it is our choices and actions that can bring in suffering or happiness along the journey.
Budhdhisum doesnt neccessarily mean everything is sufferring... it says "Aniccawata sankara" meaning everything is temporary so at the end we lose them. Everything at the end turns into sufferring so does life. It turns into death

Nirvana is a state with an overwhelming feeling of being free from suffering, everything else is suffering. Since a person cannot live their life in nirvana, life is suffering. The meaning of life is to live. There will never be another today.

@@JoshTheWhale Because I've known tens of thousands of people over my lifetime and I haven't found one that likes hearing the hard-hitting truths. Everybody's living in a state of blissful ignorance and while I understand why they do it, it's still kind of sad that nobody truly realizes what's going on around, as well as inside them. It feels like living in a simulated reality where everyone else is programmed to think and act a certain way and you're the only one who can zoom out, see the bigger picture and actually handle it.

So long 😮
@@honor9lite1337 I have a hard time condensing it all
From the Buddhist perspective you acknowledge that these "pleasures" are what's leading you to suffer throughout your lifetimes.
They don’t realize how much they will experience that’s good and happy, and are so focused on the suffering because they lack the knowledge of living through many lifes of suffering and also positive life’s
On the other hand if all of this is wrong and we are just a spec of dust on a spec of dust in a giant ocean of dust, then it doesn’t matter anyway and none of this will be significant in 10,000 years

Brick, do you really love lamp or are you just saying that because you see it?

A few very important corrections here: Buddha did not teach lessons on dharma Buddha taught only and only a technique of meditation called “vipassna” and that’s it. Buddha did not care about philosophy, he was more interested in getting to the awareness than the intellectual entertainment.

Let the pink elephant fade away... Guys he's talking about Bing Bong!
My dad used to go to a Buddhist center on Saturday mornings. I can relate to it because I grew up in a wealthy suburban home and experienced suffering because of the wants that I can't have.
"We ought to speak truthfully and kindly" . That's a tough one. Believe me. Nobody can handle the truth and nobody likes it. Nobody but me, that is.
I love it! But WHY be so sure You are alone? Surely that can't be the absolute truth 😊😁 gotta find them and go deep together ❤
@@nvmffs Well, maybe you should try and see an even bigger picture by considering that you haven't seen or got to known everyone on earth. Try to consider that there may be others just like you, who like knowing the hard-hitting truths of the world. You're not alone in this belief, and you probably aren't alone in many other beliefs either. Before judging the entirety of the population based off just a fraction of the people in this world, take the steps to think about it or prove that you're alone in this. We're all elephant hunters in a forest, and we shouldn't judge whether or not it's an Indian Elephant just by seeing the footprints. You must see the elephant yourself, only then should you know for sure it's an Indian Elephant.
@@cerealisme There's an old saying: 'You don’t need to drink the whole sea to realize that it is salty..'
It's the same with people. Once you’ve met enough of them, you start to see patterns. You realize they all share a common human nature. You only need to know a certain number of people to get a good sense of what people are really like. Even Freud figured out a lot about the human psyche by working with a fraction of the population. That's what's called a statistical sample. For perspective, If you're conducting a study 1000 people make up a statistical sample for a city of 1 million people.
@@nvmffs Fair, still don't judge the whole population off a fraction of the people. Look for others like you. Through real life, the internet, any means necessary, cause others like you exist and you'd most likely be happier around them.
