"Barnabas still said "lit" like 15 years after it was a thing, but... ya know... we love him. 😒" hahahaha loved this one, and thank God for your calling, brother.
That was Awesome Brother Francisco. When we are ready to hear Jesus speak, watch out, right ?? I met God, incarnate, once. He walked with me for a while. In my darkest hours of life. I know what His voice sounds like.
“Sometimes it takes a mountain; sometimes a troubled sea; sometimes it takes a desert; to get a hold of me. Your love is so much stronger, then whatever troubles me; sometimes it takes a mountain, to touch me and believe…”

Thank you for this great video and explanation. I LOVE St Vincents Archabbey. I am an oblate there. I subscribed to this channel because i enjoy listening to you. Thank you for your honesty. Ill continue to,pray for you as you travel onward. You are a wonderful monk and will be an awesome priest. God bless you. PAX!🙏
I've often dreamed about entering a monastery. Here in secular life I've had internal conflicts, doubts, interpersonal issues, sexuality issues and stresses. If it ever becomes possible for me to enter a monastery I bet there will be joy and service, as well as internal conflicts, doubts, interpersonal issues, sexuality issues and stresses.
If my life is any indication, living in a dedicated Catholic family took away my commonsense and replaced it with exaggerated piety i.e. sitting in a pew and watching ceremony for 20 years. I ended up in a seminary (for 8 months) and soon found that this exaggeration was not for me!!! After an 18 year marriage, four children, I soon learned that I should have listened to myself and not an ancient church that focuses on sin and ceremony. I was gay and nothing I could do would change that! I know that this will be erased, but I have a voice too!
I enjoyed watching this video and I really love this channel Brother Francisco, I'm discerning joining the Franciscans so thank you for sharing your story! I also have a question, did you have to pick another name after entering the monastery or is that something optional for your community?
We have to pick a patron saint, but that can be our baptismal saint if we choose. I chose to take a new name and selected St. Francisco Marto of Fatima as my patron.
Br Francisco i stumbled across your channel and found it very interesting. I loved your open honesty and especially what you said about discernment. We are on very different paths, but it is always a joy to recognise others who are on the same journey. Im in England and was a priest in the Church of England. I at times felt called to the monastic life and which is why i dip into RUclips channels like yours. In obedience to Gods call, i found myself becoming a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have grown so much in the nearly 20 years I've been a member. As i say, very different routes, but i still enjoy your videos and pray that you will continue to share your experiences of Gods love. The world certainly needs it now more than ever. You mentioned you were going to a conference in SLC. I'm not sure when, but I hope it is a good conference and you feel welcomed there by the latter day saints
Tony, I so relate to your story. I was brought up as a Catholic and was very active in my church's music and high school ministry. I considered becoming a monk and eventually felt called to a music ministry which brought me to every denomination under the sun. I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints back in 2015 and now am an ordinance worker at the Wash. DC temple. I feel like I'm in a monastery when I'm with my other temple brothers and we're all wearing white suits. God works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. I still enjoy going to other denominations and listening to podcasts including this one. I'm 72 and have totally devoted and consecrated my life as a single man to Jesus Christ.
@paulheffron4836 thank you Paul. I have no regrets about the decision i made but still love and respect my brothers and sisters of other faiths. @@TonyAHorbury That's really a powerful testimony, Tony. Your willingness to get out of your comfort zone says a lot about your willingness to be a true disciple. It greatly blessed me to find someone like you who has a similar story. Psalm 37:4-5 are my compass verses. May the also become yours. One of the things I share with people is an acronym that I came up with . GOLD......it stands for Gospel Of Latter Days. You now have the GOLD.
Amazing discernment and prayers for you as you continue towards the priesthood!
I love this guy.
You can tell he is living the life he was called to and living it with joy.
I totally agree with you
It amazes me how heartfelt this presentation is; definitely a witness to God’s love. Thank you!
