The chick that played Jack's wife, beside the credits you mentioned, she (Julie?) also had a large part in a top five show of mine... Boston Legal. Fantastic dramedy with William Shatner, James Spader, Candice Bergman... She's really lucked up with great shows fr.
This is not my favorite flashback but this is possibly my favorite season 1 on-island episode. Every actor is on-point, every character showcases their humanity. Sun is the perfect foil for Jack to keep his head straight, Sawyer immediately seeing Kate's not joking around and complying like a decent human without resorting to sarcasm, Charlie's compassion for both situations, Jin's calming influence on Charlie, the silent reaction when Shannon learns of Boone's death, Jack's agony when he realizes he's not a superman, it's all just *chef's kiss*. It may not be one of the mythology episodes, but this is the show firing on all cylinders, and the fallout from this one is one of the episodes that gets referenced the most in future episodes. I love it.
I will say this about the background survivors, I **do** recognize most of their faces, but maybe it's because I watched this so many times when it first aired... the show did a fantastic job of keeping the same group of background survivors the whole time. Most of them that are in that scene with the baby at the end have been there since the pilot episode and will continue for the next several seasons. Usually the only times someone completely unrecognizable appears is when they need to give one of them a line and have to hire a "real" actor for the part. Otherwise, these background folks remain the same group of people for the duration.
Sawyer gives Kate his alcohol for several possible reasons. Maybe he learned the lesson of torture when he didn't want to help Shannon and her asthma. But above all, in episode 16, where Sawyer had trouble with a wild boar, Kate helped him in exchange for unlimited access to his reserve. I don't know my blood type. But since my parents were O+, I guess that's the case for me too....or not.😁 Locke does not stay to help Jack with his diagnosis by giving him the precise reasons for Boone's accident. It’s like taking a loved one to a hospital without telling the doctor about their aspirin allergy. When I went to the hospital with my brother, the first thing I said was his allergies. Murder is not always intentional. It may be unintentional. There, Locke's omissions may have led to Boone's death, although I doubt that with Locke's help Jack could have saved him. He was still very damaged.
@@OrangeChrome When you fail to tell the doctor the patient's known allergies and when you fail to tell the doctor the real causes of patient Boone's condition, to me, those are omissions in both cases that don’t help the doctor. Even though Jack only had a one in a million chance of saving Boone, Locke's silence or lie didn't help that chance. Another Locke’s error again.🙂
@@youtpfpm6097 my point is, falling from a cliff and lethal allergies are nowhere near the same thing. Also, Boone falling from a cliff and Boone falling from a cliff in a small plane are pretty dang close.
@@OrangeChrome Here I'm talking about Locke's attitude, not Boone's pathology. Locke's attitude is the same as a person voluntarily or not hiding information from the doctor. Like a person intentionally or unintentionally hiding information about a patient's allergies from the doctor. Because a doctor will treat his patient faster and better thanks to the information he receives. And no, falling off a cliff and falling off a cliff in an airplane do not produce the same kind of injuries because the environment is not the same. An impact is not a crush.
The island giveth and the island taketh.
You got the message of this ep right off the bat. 👍👍 The circle of life.

One of my favorite Michael Giacchino themes. Life and Death.
Isn’t Shannon, also the girl from the movie Taken? She was a brat in that, too! Ha! Great reaction! Important episode, birth on the island! 🏝️
O+ as well. Most common type, but I still feel it's good to know.

Boone's situation has nothing to do with allergies.
I agree that either way Jack likely wouldn't have been able to save Boone.
Your blood type can only be O, and its most likely O+, but I think you have a small chance of being Negative as well.

I think jack says lock murdered boone because he lied about how boone got injured
