I think it could well drop again now my weight as evened out at 12 stone 2 lbs. Though I'm 68 I'm extremely fit, don't drink and exercise every day. What to do. But at least I have more information on which to make a judgement thanks to your excellent video. Thanks.
Why would you eat saturated fats?? It gets into your tissue and causes diabetes through insulin sensitivity, even if the direct effect on LDL would be less. Eat plant foods for 1 month with healthy whole foods and have your blood tests done, I bet you will feel much better and have drastic improvement in your numbers. I have seen carnivores drup their LDL from over 150mg/dl to 80 - 90 in just 4 weeks of plant foods, and vegans can often achieve numbers a low as 50mg/dl which makes the practically bulletproof for athrescelerosis progression.
@@walterski8377 LDL is obviously the driver of heart disease, proven by genetic studies that already prove it 100% + studies on large populations of hundreds of thousands followed for decades. Claiming LDL isn't the cause of heart disease is the same as claiming smoking is good for you, absolute science denial.
@Cyberfunk did you watch the video and get any knowledge from it?. Carbs cause the body to spill out insulin constantly. Meat and fat don't give you the wild swings in blood sugar because they digest slowly. They stabilize insulin release.
I am 73 years old and I just had 4 stents placed 2 in my circumflex and two in my right colony artery. My doctor told me if I did nit get on a statin he did not see a good future for me I have never wanted to go on a statin because of the side effects and seeing so many MD’S stating that they didn’t think they did much good. I am insulin resistant and have high inflammation markers. I have been eating a low carb diet for about a year but I have also been eating high fat. I want to really do keto but I have not gotten there yet. Now I find myself in a quandary as what to eat. Did eating more fat do this to me as many of my friends tell me. I still believe the carbs and sugar are the culprits. Where can I find someone who can really help me.Thanks
The only diet that I know that works really well for people with heart disease is a low-fat Vegan diet. They are able to stabilize their condition by lowering both inflammation and cholesterol in their system.
Dr. Brewer. I have diabetes type 2. Towards the end of this video you gave an example of an individual who had perfect levels of blood sugar before a meal, one hour after, and two hours after. He also had a perfect A1C. But then you tested his insulin levels during that process and it was out of whack. How does one test their insulin levels like this? Second, how does one accomplish getting their insulin levels down within the correct ranges? I have been Whole Food Plant Based for a while and had problems with my blood sugar. I have just switched to almost two weeks of low carb higher protein diet and my FBS are down within the 88 mg/dl to 120 range. Thanks for your videos and any response.
Plant based is your problem and I’m not knocking the way you eat. You want to eliminate that type 2 then get back to meat. Do keto or carnivore. Make sure it’s grass fed, keep your carbs below 50 to begin with then keep them below 20. Make sure your eat 6 to 8 ounces of meat and plenty of good fats. You’ll eliminate that type 2 in no time.
@@anikacorbett7714go on anti inflammatory diets, Google for list of food to eat. I reversed my inflammation by anti inflammatory diet and no longer take any medications. All the best to you!
I switched to whole food plant-based diet 7 years ago, at age 70 from a meat-based diet, lost 40 lbs 6' 0" from 215 to 176 lbs for 7 years now, lost about half my ED, and cholesterol fell from 270 to 147. Age 77 no meds of any kind. My protein levels went from 10 percent on the meat diet up to 50 percent, a perfect protein score on the plant-only diet. No animal foods at all and practically no free oils at all. The reason protein can rise like this is the body on a meat diet gets too much protein and not enough good quality carbs, so it splits the excess protein from the meat up into carbs and nitrogen, so protein levels drop dramatically, and your 20 dollar steak is turned into 20 cents worth of pasta because the brain craves carbs, not protein. Eating meat is mostly just throwing your money away. On the plant diet, eating whole food (healthy) carbs, the brain is well-satisfied and leaves the blood protein much higher, in my case 5 times higher. Workout recovery is therefore faster, almost all athletes who go whole food plant-based report this effect. I climb 20 flights of stairs 2 steps at a time, almost daily, legs are like iron. My doc is totally onboard. It's not for anyone, most people won't, or think they can't, do it but it just takes work and persistence, like anything good, after which the results are fantastic!
lol 20 dollar steak is turned into 20c pasta, that's absolutely deluded and hilarious 🤣 and my 'carb-craving' brain is functioning perfectly optimally on my endogenous ketones thank you :) (and my bodies extremely small production of glucose) I'm glad it works for you, but I'm off to go and eat a 20 dollar steak (or should I say some very expensive pasta)
One thing that I add to my health and wellness is earthing/grounding. It does change pain levels (inflammation) in body. I have Lyme and it is a miracle. Just put your feet on ground or rock or cement for 30/40 minutes and see how you feel. Humans need too ditch the shoes a bit and take a walk. So many ways to change the blood viscosity. Blood pressure drops and feel relaxed and energized. At 81 I need all the help I can get. Especially because right carotid shows some blockage..but I’m working on it. Weight about 115 lbs 5’4”. Loss of much muscle mass after Covid vaccine. As well as loss of feeling in feet and legs 2/3 days after vaccine. But after 2 years it is beginning to get better. Medical Dr. check for blood clots. Another nuclear test coming up soon. Diet has always been organic/grass fed etc. Yoga/biking to compensate long days at office desk. All natural child birth No drugs, breast fed children. Keep living like animals on our earth. They know how to survive…😊👍🏻💖I’ll still learning everyday and happy hoping to live another 20 years.👍🏻

Why do the death rates from heart disease decline as you go further south down the Florida peninsula? Why does Hawaii have the lowest death rates from heart disease in all 50 States?
Excellent, thank You! What about Prinzmetal Variant Angina? What could be the cause, and what can help, if medications are not working well (calcium blockers and nitro) Blessings
Hope there will be guidelines on prolonged fasting autophagy therapy to immediately reduce inflammation and reduce risk for heart attack and stroke. 7 days fasting or longer?
What about trypinin? I think I spelled that right. Can that be reversed or eliminated? My cardiologist told and showed me that that enzyme/amino acid or whatever it is is sticking out a little too much in my arteries, and I would like to shrink it down or just eliminate it. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Dr. Brewer, please suffer me for a moment. Inflammation is the bodies natural immunity response/defence to an injury or foreign attack from pathogens etc. or in reality something disrupting the homeostatic balance of the body, basically, correct? It's also true that if the immune response is over or underactive a secondary condition can occur from that. If so, then ALL Autoimmune dysfunctions or diseases are a result of an out of control or over/under reacting immune system. The NK and memory T cells are getting false information from the immune response mechanism or the cells themselves are acting like a broken record. Thus the information to the worker cells needs rebooting or resetting, kind of like a computer and it needs to be corrected at that genesis or the vortex of the initiating trigger be it at the cell level or some other RNA/DNA factor I'm not familiar with. This I believe is where the focus of all disfunction needs our full attention. Immunomodulation I feel is the key to a healthy body and mind and psyche which can partially be achieved by what we eat, drink or breath. Unfortunately much of what we take in is out of our control. But Immunology is just now making a comeback in Naturopathic and Medical field.:
Cut off carbs, increase protein consumption + crustaceous vege. I was diagnosed 3 months ago with middle grade fatty liver. I did USG scan after 3 months of the diet that I told you and it is almost gone. You can aid it with milk thistle supplements and phosphatidylcholine supplements
To lower inflammation consume more omega 3 fatty acids, less omega 6 fatty acids, mackerel might be the best and cheapest source, maybe tuna too, along with grass fed beef, salmon, some oils, not vegetable oil, all improve inflammation
Would fasting insulin and c-peptide not be as good as the 1-2HR insulin test? Because I’m sure it will be hell to get our doctors or who ever to do a test like you just showed
How does a practicing Cardiologist measure, define and establish a baseline marker of Inflammation for a patient so that the Imflammation can be measured to lower in the future? I agree, Inflamation is the bigger heart disease risk than cholesterol.
People won't give up their bread. Not the bread! It's a human right 🙌 as smoking and becoming obese 🤰🤰Doctors will fix, they have donated hearts to transplant and saws to cut off diabetic feet 🙌
What about the cause of PVC’s? My cardiologist after reviewing my scans in my images doing a nuclear test he said I had no blockages to worry about but I wore a monitor for 24 hours and it recorded 440 PVCs.
I feel so empowered now to prevent heart attacks and strokes after watching most of your videos. Thank you so much for putting this information out!!!

But at least I have more information on which to make a judgement thanks to your excellent video. Thanks.
Thank you very much
Why would you eat saturated fats?? It gets into your tissue and causes diabetes through insulin sensitivity, even if the direct effect on LDL would be less. Eat plant foods for 1 month with healthy whole foods and have your blood tests done, I bet you will feel much better and have drastic improvement in your numbers. I have seen carnivores drup their LDL from over 150mg/dl to 80 - 90 in just 4 weeks of plant foods, and vegans can often achieve numbers a low as 50mg/dl which makes the practically bulletproof for athrescelerosis progression.
@@cyberfunk3793 Are you not paying attention?!? LDL isn't the driver of heart disease
Amazing information a real eye opener !!!!!!!!!!!
Great video! What’s the stressed test called? I would like to ask my GP to examine me.
Dr.
Astonishingly detailed summary in a very short time.
Thank you very much
Thanks Doc! Great info. Subscribed.
Thanks.
Dr Brewer are there any studies that have been done that verify which supplements reduce inflammation? Like Tumeric, Curcumin, Berberine or Quercetin
Would love to know that also
Alcohol is the best anti inflammatory.
Thank you very much for the helpful information
Thanks
Excellent info as always!
Thanks
I wish you were my doctor. Very informative!
After I suffered a heart attack, I reduced my inflammation by anti inflammatory diet.
Thank you very much
What is anti inflammatory diet ?
@@recuerdos2457 check out Dr. Brooke Goldner’s Goodbye Autoimmune Protocol.
This all makes so much sense.
So is it the plaque causing the inflammation or the inflammation causing the plaque? 🤔
excellent .. how do we thank you for this..
Thanks!
Dr. Brewer, great video. Does Homocysteine levels also have a connection?
Inflammation is behind a lot of things
Charité is not somewhere near, but in the center and also spread all over Berlin.
Are there any supplements to help reduce this inflammation? Or is weight and diet control (carbs) the key?
Cricket powder, fish oil, selenium ....and feed your gut
Diet (low carbs/fructose) and IF helped a lot
explain what these, (abbreviations) level indicators are, it became frustrating to try to understand the content
Damn good doctor, love the accent too.
Thanks

Did yr doctor put you on statins? My Dr did and my LDL is 179…
lol 20 dollar steak is turned into 20c pasta, that's absolutely deluded and hilarious 🤣
and my 'carb-craving' brain is functioning perfectly optimally on my endogenous ketones thank you :) (and my bodies extremely small production of glucose)
I'm glad it works for you, but I'm off to go and eat a 20 dollar steak (or should I say some very expensive pasta)
ABSOLUTELY nonsensical!
Total cholesterol is meaningless.
Excellent video. Thanks for putting this out.

Thank you for discussing fasting insulin level
Thank you so much.😁♥️👍
Excellent, thank You!
What about Prinzmetal Variant Angina? What could be the cause, and what can help, if medications are not working well (calcium blockers and nitro)

Can you do an episode on HRV please mine has been 15 and I need to know how to get it higher! Thanks
Curious, is a 3x optilal level insulin level really all that problematic for someone on OMAD who fasts quite often? Say 48-72hrs per week?
Indeed you are right! Glad you pointed this out. Now let's talk about how the food corporations produce "food products" that promote inflammation.
I don’t like the side effects, muscle pain, muscle weakness and diabetes risk….
This is gonna sound silly but when I clasp my hands together and my fingers feel lean and fit well together I think I’m on track. Just one of those weird things.

What's causing the inflammation
What causes this inflammation you are talking about please???
Wow great info thanks Doc!
I think your logic is good. Immunology and endocrinology advancements are key to improving our situation.
Do you know Dr.Gundry? or Joel Kahn?
how do you lower fatty liver? does statins help?
Milk thistle and nac supplement
Cut off carbs, increase protein consumption + crustaceous vege. I was diagnosed 3 months ago with middle grade fatty liver. I did USG scan after 3 months of the diet that I told you and it is almost gone. You can aid it with milk thistle supplements and phosphatidylcholine supplements
The music is distracting.
Thank You once again Dr!
Thanks
To lower inflammation consume more omega 3 fatty acids, less omega 6 fatty acids, mackerel might be the best and cheapest source, maybe tuna too, along with grass fed beef, salmon, some oils, not vegetable oil, all improve inflammation
Visceral body fat is most important concern when talking fat.
Thank you. I love you!
I wonder how Dr Ford feels about HOMA-IR as a screening tool
Should be a standard tool, IMO!
What about the cause of PVC’s? My cardiologist after reviewing my scans in my images doing a nuclear test he said I had no blockages to worry about but I wore a monitor for 24 hours and it recorded 440 PVCs.
