Damn, for people like myself who shoot outside and use the phone sometimes this is a game changer! You literally hit all the points I am looking for, from tiktok to Instagram to multi points, self turn on option. Here goes another 300$ 🤣🤣. Thanks for this!
I just bought this microphone on prime day and I'm so excited it was about $200 less than the last time I looked at it and sound has been a big issue for my videos inside my office or at the gym. Thank you!
I have been wondering how long it would take for Rode to upgrade to a two wireless mic and then Ben comes with this brilliant review, thanks a lot mate
@@AuthenTech I have A question: can you record internally (with the transmitters) and also record into the camera via a 3.5 (with the transmitter) all at the same time? many thanks in advance!!! thank you for your great work.
This is hands down the wireless solution I didn't know I needed! My only question is, how would you say the internal microphone performs at capturing voices of people nearby? I intend to use for vlogging and clipping a transmitter to the person that randomly came into frame while filming might not always happen. Could I rely on my transmitter to pick up their voice smoothly? Thanks a bunch for taking the time to produce this amazing review!
Really great review! Thanks a lot! Can't wait to find it in my coutry(now just pre-order without date unfortunately). We just on the beginning of our blog road, and still need to improve a lot of things, and microphones - one of the most important thing. Again, thanks a lot for so awesome review. Definitely will wait wireless go II, instead buying first version.
Hi Ben! I love your review pretty much. I already have my Wireless Go II in my hands and I am also quite amazed by all the improvements Rode made looking at the first Rode Wireless Go Set. I am also curious to know hat phone clamp you are using. It is so versatile. Already looked it up in your Amazon Shop but couldn't find it there. Please share some information on that cool item.
Please do audio comparison on Rode wireless GO 2 vs a shotgun mic. Thanks. I know the purpose of each mic serve different people and purpose. But would really love to hear how far the differences in audio will be. :)
hello nice video, congratulations. I wanted to ask you something, are they compatible with smartphones if of course I buy the SC7 trrs cable? omitting the new SC15 and SC16 cables? because I know that with the first version they work, but with wireless go II I have not found anything about it. Thanks in advance for your reply
Can you simply record onto the mic device itself.... WITHOUT it recording onto the receiver? That's the first use case I would imagine. And have a separate microphone on the camera itself. Then I could sync them both in post and choose the best one. ....Or am I thinking about this wrong?
Good thinking! My solution would be even further: Rode Wireless Go 2 - one transmitter on a talent, the second one on interviewer, Rode videmic NTG on camera for backup as HQ solution and "what camera sees" recording (it can also go on boom at anytime) plus Zoom H5 for ambience / stereo recording. total count: 3 mono + stereo track, plenty of mixing options :)
With Rode's latest firmware update the mics can be used independently as recorders on their own. That was my main reason for getting them. I recorded myself instructing an 8 hour class without any issues.
Just wanted to give a little update! I was in fact able to use this as individual recorders, not broadcasting wireless to the receiver. I think THIS IS MY MAIN USE CASE. Because I already have another nice microphone on top of the DSLR camera.... so why would I transmit what I'm already recording on these RODE GO II mics to the DSLR as well? I would rather have a separate recording w/ different microphone. That way if anything goes wrong like the talent HITTING the microphone with their hand... I can switch to audio from the DSLR mic in the editor. Seems better this way. More safe.
@@JasonParkerMagic I’ve seen other reviews discussing losing files occasionally recorded directly to the Rode. So the recommendation seems to be to record in transmitter as a backup only, but to rely primarily on the single being sent to camera. Plus, it saves having to sync in post.
Ben, did you check to see if the Rode Wireless Go II would plug directly into the USBC on a GoPro and be able to provide audio and bypass the Rode Audio Adapter?
Hello sir Great Video. Can you just plug in the Rode Go Mic 2 Transmitter to an apple computer and just pull files off and put it into Adobe Premiere? Looks like you had to change settings only with an app on computer from Rode. I am asking questions bc I want to see if this device can go with an H4N Zoom Pro handy recorder. I am use to pulling recordings and just putting them into Adobe Audition from a camera and editing them. So I guess you can't just pull files off these guys without an apple computer and going through the app with Rode?
Dear Ben also please make a Vlog on Panasonic GH5 4K HDR Camera. I heard and saw many videos on RUclips this is the best Camera for Bloggers who want to make 4K HDR videos. Try to make video on this if you got a time and chance. Thanks your friend AK from Shenzhen, CHINA :)
I am filming a interview and its just one person should turn on both transmitter after clicking merged mode. Can I then mute the second transmitter and let the interview hold on to it or should i keep it with me
Love your videos! I'm ordering the tripod mount and selfie stick from your other video (watched so many, can't remember which one it was). I need a light to go with the setup. Which one do you recommend? Been seeing a lot of ads for the Lume Cube. Also ordering Rode GO II, need to know how to mount all this on the woohoto. THANKS!!!!
You looking for a small LED light? The two that I have (but don't use too often as they are kinda harsh lighting) is the Rode MicroLED and the GoPro Light Mod. They shine super bright and are compact. There's many cheap options on Amazon as well: amzn.to/38msWfz
Hi Mate love the review! I'm currently tossing up between this and the Boya BY WM4 K2. It's considerably cheaper which allows some budget for some good quality LAV MICs to pair it with. Any advice?
1:12 can you make a seperate video on magical mix ( ps : would be useful if I get to use this in future ; + I want to listen both on left and right channels if someone speaks out )
hi, im a vlogger, and i have someone to editing my video. question: if i use rode go 2,should i have to manage audio everytime i sent the video or is already in the video, because i see it as diffrent microphone input betwent the video
Thanks a lot! Does the MIC work without the Receiver? I hat the Idee of sending a mic to My Interview Guest to be sture to have a Good Backup Track in case the Zoom Recording die Not work.
Question : Can you use the rode go II transmitter like a Tascam dr 10L ? I mean can be use like a audio recorder without connected to the receiver ? for example just record audio for a groom in a wedding ?
Question. What if you only need one transmitter (i.e. you're not doing an interview with 2 people and are just going solo), do you turn off one of the transmitters?
Just for clarification, people that are recording their video on an iPhone will not be recording in stereo directly to the iPhone. It doesn’t support stereo recording but with the onboard mic recordings you could certainly import it and add that in post if you wanted to. Thanks for the review.
I’m rode wireless 1 owner. Love the unit. But while filming salsa dancer and jiujitsu instructionals i would get some occasional drop offs when bodies cover the unit ( so line of sight blocked for a second or 2 ). Can someone tell me does the wireless 2 has a more robust connection which would remedy the problems i encountered with the first version or its gonna be same issues???
I am looking to buy a microphone for outdoor vlogging usually in noisy environments. Would this Ride Wireless Go II be a good choice especially for noise cancelling?
HOw do you listen to 2 people talk while recording at the same time? Can each of you plug in headphones in the MIC jack of the unit attached to you? Or is there some wireless funcion? Meaning is it possible to not only record your conversation...but can you communicated with each other when far apart?
YES! Need stat.
thats cool how you watch AuthenTech your content is great as well

If that's the goal I'd say just hold the 2nd one towards the other person
the best review on youtube. Thanks for showing how the receiver slips into the shoe mount

Very informative overview - thanks for posting
I have watched several reviews on the Rode wireless GO II and your is the best. Thanks!
I've been looking at this, nice to see your infomercial ... is swaying my decision.
Mine just came in today so I'm excited to start using this for my RUclips and podcast! Thanks - Great Video!
Have fun!
But these are so expensive. I was thinking about the H1N but how much work is it to sync the audio and video in post?

very functional product. and i liked that podcast 😁

Awesome. I would've definitely jumped on it
Awesome. Ordering now. Great job.
It's a pity that it doesn't work with the S22 Ultra and with the A50 it worked without a problem :(
Great review man. As an owner of a pair of Rode WG 1, I could't ask for any better literally. Order placed 😀😂
Right on!

SIDE BY SIDE AUDIO PLEASE of the two devices

This seems great for recording but what about live sound? Does the receiver have outputs for a mixer input?
Is it going to work properly with an iPhone?
Can we turn off anyone and use only one ?
I'm gonna get this. But i lives in Indonesia. 14 days pre order
Is that just a generic USB-C to iPhone cable you used with the receiver or one from Rode? Having issues getting my iPhone to see the mic input. 🤨
