Hey, Jeffrey! This is full of great advice, and love following your series! If I can ask a question regarding subtext, I'm actually having some trouble on a character read on this front. I'm a voice actor trying to build up by demo reel, and one of my bits is playing out Roy Batty's monologue from Blade Runner, and I'm having some trouble juggling the parts. I have been thinking about my own past during it, reflecting on how this reads as a character. But, the issue is that the feedback I get continuously is "It doesn't sound like yourself. It sounds like Rutger Hauer." Is there something I'm missing to be able to balance my own personality and the intentions of a well known character so it's both believable and personal? Thanks!
