I've seen him play several games this year. Well, "seen". He was pretty much irrelevant every time he played us this year. But most teams have had that same experience.
For almost every league, there's an average player in a higher quality league that would dominate that league. For example, Stefan Noesen is/was a pretty average NHL player, even below average, but he's tearing up the AHL this year. I wish I lived in the alternate universe in which a league existed where Mcdavid was an average player. Just imagine how fun a league that would be

People think because there is less scoring there is lower quality. It's because of superior defending. Goals happen mostly from mistakes. Modern players are bigger, stronger, faster and better coached to make less mistakes. How else would you explain a best-on-best tournament with Canada getting a 2-1 win over Latvia? A team with 12 current or future HOF'ers on it? 2014 Olympics. Was it a watered down Olympics, too? lol

The fact that a Toronto lunkhead wants to spend $400 on a ticket that can only sell for $100 in Florida. So they should be able to spend $200 million in salaries while Florida spends say, $50 million? You can get rid of the profit sharing and let four teams fail but the NHLPA won't be thrilled because it means you're firing 92 hockey players and all the revenues those teams generated - of which 50.0% went directly to the NHLPA, whether they were profitable to their owners or not.
