      He won't resign OR he will take a trade before his contract is up. Oiler move McDavid, get a real good goalie, a couple of good solid defensemen and some high draft picks. They could become a very competitive team and make the playoffs each year. Leon could also be moved but he won't get them as much in a trade but several solid players in return, I would move him. If you're an Oilers fan, would you rather get a solid defense and lose Leon or keep things the way they are?

    • @robbie24funnel

      yeeeeesss, so many people don't realize this. 4 financial black holes of teams should be cut from the league. Profit sharing and the salary cap should be cut as well. All detriments to the game and the league. Officiating needs a complete overhaul and Bettman **STILL** has to go. I like the new market teams though in Vegas (surprisingly) and Seattle. Those teams should pull their own weight financially.

    • @jeffreym.8957
      @jeffreym.8957 2 года назад

      What a bunch of malarkey/poppycock/bs. There has never been such high quality in the league. The number of kids in the world that play hockey now is 50x greater than when the original six played. There are players vying for jobs from Sweden, Russia, Slovakia, even Germany and Switzerland. The US development team places about 1/3 of the first round picks these days. It's just no comparison.
      People think because there is less scoring there is lower quality. It's because of superior defending. Goals happen mostly from mistakes. Modern players are bigger, stronger, faster and better coached to make less mistakes.
      How else would you explain a best-on-best tournament with Canada getting a 2-1 win over Latvia? A team with 12 current or future HOF'ers on it? 2014 Olympics. Was it a watered down Olympics, too? lol

    • @jeffreym.8957
      @jeffreym.8957 2 года назад

      @@robbie24funnel What exactly does it mean to "pull their own weight"? The fact of the matter is that people in Toronto are willing to pay multiples more in in ticket $$ than any other market. The fact that a Toronto lunkhead wants to spend $400 on a ticket that can only sell for $100 in Florida. So they should be able to spend $200 million in salaries while Florida spends say, $50 million? You can get rid of the profit sharing and let four teams fail but the NHLPA won't be thrilled because it means you're firing 92 hockey players and all the revenues those teams generated - of which 50.0% went directly to the NHLPA, whether they were profitable to their owners or not.
