I thought RUclips's demonetization of Desert Drifter climbing a rock wall was bad, but Instagram calling you a sex trafficker for making knives is even more insane. Will, you have really become an excellent RUclipsr since your beginning with Alec. Great that you made it to 250k+.

While the induction forge doesn’t have built in down time, the fact that it doesn’t have to heat up and cool down means you can take a break whenever without having to just burn fuel or deal with heating back up.
After the stress of the masters knife test this video just exudes relaxed positive energy with you mentioning all of the friends and your attachments to the tools and your pipe hobby, delightful and i love it ❤

That isn't a knife that is a functional piece of art. A true masterpiece. WILL be in a museum one day as one of the great Stelter pieces
6:55 Archery instructor here: you might be using the wrong eye to aim, and that's why your shots are going to the left even after you adjust the sight. You're using a right handed bow, which means you're aiming with your right eye, so a left handed bow might help bring your arrows back on target. Laying the bow on the sight also doesn't help, though XD
I am right handed but left eye dominant I don't squint my left eye I close it and I shoot better
When I was an outdoor instructor, a whole group of us did our archery qualification and one of us discovered that he was left eye dominant but shooting right-handed for years. He was basically aiming way off to one side to be hitting the target. He was shooting bare bow and aiming well over a metre off centre when shooting from a distance of 10 metres. At the distance Will is shooting, I dought any sites would be able to compensate for aiming with the wrong eye. I'm guessing it's more to do with stance/form and his left hand just pulling left slightly when he releases the arrow. Best advice us to get some quality time with an instructor and really concentrate on pulling his shoulder blades down and back and keeping the left arm in the correct position. A decent instructor can also make sure that Will is right-eye domonet and see if that is the problem
I'm a lefty but right eyed. I shoot a right"handed" bow just because of that. Srarted shooting with my son (10) last weekend, also a lefty, and he turned out to be left eyed which makes explaining shooting a bit difficult for me but we got there in the end.
Place my dad used to work when I was a kid had an indoor archery range, and they let me try stuff....this was 1995 and I'd never heard of dominant eye before....I was mostly right handed so figured that would be what I used to shoot. Instructor told me to hold up a finger to point at/cover a target about 20 feet away. Close one eye, see how the perspective shifted, then repeat with the other eye. Was surprised to find my left eye was very dominate compared to my right ( left eye closed it seemed the target jumped several feet to the side, right eye closed and nothing moved )
I was astonished when I took my daughter to a lesson on archery for her birthday and the instructor told me I was using the wrong handed bow. I argued with her till she said try it. I was a regular Robin hood after that. Blew my mind.

For hitting left of taget with your bow, I would think that you could be grabbing the riser as you fire. This will cause the bow to twist left a little bit. You could try shooting with a really loose or open hand to help.
Other thoughts are to paper tune your bow. You shoot through a piece of newspaper and adjust your rest until you get a clean hole.
BTW really nice grouping for starting out.
I would agree that you have to much grip on the riser with your left had. I had the same problem when I started years ago and once that grip issue was taken care of I stopped shooting to the left. I have been told that the only thing that should hold the bow in my left hand is the backward pressure I cause by pulling the bow string to the rear.
I personally want to thank you and Alex Steele because you guys have helped me relearn and enjoy blacksmithing/blade smithing again. I was in highschool when I fell in love with it and haven't been able to do anything until a year ago 😊 now I'm working on opening my own business Crafting Vikings and I enjoy everything all over again. The induction forge looks like the best thing since sliced bread.
My man, I love watching you work, and I appreciate that half your video is you talking about details that only a knife maker understands fully. Those details are where the art is and it's fun to hear about the minutia that goes into knife design and forging. Much appreciation for the hand hammer forge too, that's some work. Good luck with those online platforms, I dunno how knife makers get lumped into the weirdness, the only thing you guys do that might raise eyebrows is sharpen with a wheel instead of flat stones (heresy, lol).
Will, regarding the archery questions. Yes this is definitely something that can happen. There are several things inwould reccomend. First, it looked like your fletchings are from the factory, as in they were prefletched at the factory, shipped, then bought by you. I would reccomend going to a pro shop and having them stripped and refletched with a helical off set, this will make your arrows spin more and increase accuracy. Also at the pro shop have them check the timing. The timing involves making adjustments to the cams so they complete they're cycle at the appropriate time. My Hoyt likes the bottom cam to complete its cycle a hair faster than the top cam and this increases accuracy. For things you can do at home walk back tuning is a good option for making sure your rest is all set. This involves taking a shot at 20 yards, then 30, then 40, then 50 all using the same pin aiming at the same location, the separation in distance will cause the arrow to drop into a line and if the arrows are not in a straight up and down line but angled off one direction or another that means your rest needs adjustment and you need to chase the arrow with your rest. If it's off right, move to the right. If left, move left. Also it looks like you're gripping your bow, get a wrist sling and keep your hand loose and let it fall away. There are tons of tiny little things that can effect your arrows flight and these are just a few. If you have any more questions or want some more guidance or tips I'm happy to help!

Man do I love your knives!!🤔😜 You and Alec are the reason I got started. Anyways I've been bow hunting for 30 years. And when I teach new archers they tend to need to chase left. The reason for it is to fold one your bow is breaking in and you're getting more length in your arm. And you're also getting stronger and pulling harder on your back stop without realizing it.. hope that helps!

That is a gorgeous knife. The Santoku is the most used chef knife in my kitchen and that beauty would feel at home there.
Very impressed with the induction forge approach! Looks cleaner and more precise regarding getting the heat exactly where you want it. Also looks like you have to keep focus on the heating process - much more than throwing metal into a forge. It also has to stay much cooler in the room!

I agree with the others about grasping the riser grip when shooting, hold the grip, and gently close your fingers on the front of the grip, not too much pressure, just enough to keep it from falling when you trigger the release, also a plastic coated bike hook makes a great hanger when screwed into a joist out side there

Big reason why the induction forge doesn't scale up like a propane forge does is because you're not blastin the surface with pressurized air. Even though the surface isn't hot enough to melt, there's still a chemical reaction between the iron and the oxygen. Heat and pressure make the reaction happen faster. Same reason you make the flame a reducing one when you're goin to forge weld, less air in the mix means less scale
Just my opinion, but I shoot my bow quit a bit for many years. I don’t change my sights or rest until I am 100% back in shape if there has been a break in my shooting routine. Your bow, if everything is tight and it’s well cared for, won’t change if it’s just set down instead of hung up. But the stabilizer muscles we use when we shoot will change from day to day until we get into “shape”.
Just my opinion, but shoot steady for a month then tweak the bow to match you.

Theres a good chance your wrist is pulling the bow as you release. While aiming, Have your hand wide open with the bow held in the webbing of your hand by the strings tension, as you release dont grab the riser again but let it kind of fall forward back into your hand. I think that might help with the grouping going left
haven't seen the random pattern Damascus so far, looks amazing, nice to have a name to look for. beautiful knife
More length on a kitchen knife is great provided you're aware of needing it for your workflow(say breaking down large cuts/fish). It's cool to hold, but unless that extra length is allowing you to make fewer cuts to get the job done(and you're skilled/nimble with your blade control), it mostly will get in the way. Geometry/usability is better than pure size/length in this case.

Maybe release closer to your eye to get a greater consistency with drop and drift? If you want to release at the cheek, it can be helpful to orient your release hand on a facial bone. The flesh of the cheek is easy to have ambiguous release consistency as your cheek can be more or less mobile, waterlogged, and otherwise variable from day to day (especially on a very hot day like you said you're getting). From your current posture, choose something like the knuckle of your right ring finger and push it into your cheek bone (modify as appropriate). You'll also get a left right difference if you go from shooting north-south to shooting east-west (though this is compounded over longer shot distances than you're shooting at in this video.

I've only ever shot (and taught) tradition bowhunter with my recurve bow. I'm not sure how to sight in a compound. I've been told it can take a while to get right though. Do you shoot with both eyes open and have you had your eye dominance tested? As if you are if you are left eye dominant but shoot right handed it could cause that. Wind could be another factor. It doesn't look like you tweak the bow as you release just make sure you aren't squeezing the riser too much as you hit the trigger. Other than that just keep at it and you'll get used to your bow.
Your archery question has to do with your arm holding your bow, your form is slightly off. 1 your over griping the bow( holding it to tight), 2. The inside of your left elbow is facing up, it should be facing the wall. 3. Put your left arm out in front of you extend it all the way out Palm up, then rotate your palm all the way down/ clockwise as far as possible, now the inside of your elbow should be facing the wall, after that just rotate at your wrist to thumb pointing at the sky while keeping your elbow in the same position. Then put a slightly bend in elbow. Now with the bow in hand Loosely grip like you are punch with the first two knuckles, draw and release at the same Anchor Point. Lastly practice practice practice practice practice

I honestly see a lot of the simpler to do blade patterns look just as good as some crazy cut 20 times and stacked at different angles patterns. Great video mate and I did laugh a bit when you said technology ruins forging when you are doing heats with a piece of technology haha.

When shooting your bow, use VERY lite pressure with your bow hand on the handle. It super easy to twist the bow without realizing it. I only touch the handle with the meat of my hand and the tip of 2 fingers.
Archery hunter opinion- you may be putting uneven pressure on your grip.
get a wrist sling for your bow hand and don’t “hold” your bow with your left hand.
Open your hand when you draw and line your handle along the line between your pointer finger and thumb.
And when you shoot let your bow fall.
The wrist sling will catch it

Your bow may be shooting to the left because you're shooting form is pushing them that way. Are you in line with the bow, or turned towards it slightly? That'd push your draw hand out and cause your arrows to shoot left. I'd recommend going to an archery shop and getting them to check your form.
@WillStelterbladesmith you gotta make a bow hanger. We always used em in tournaments and practicing with hunting bows. That way you don’t put weight on or bump the sights or anything else important
If you're looking archery you should come to our NFAA state shoots. Outdoor target was in Bozeman this year but you've missed that. The next one is indoor target in February.
Bulldogs are my favorite style of pipe, though I do prefer a curved stem. Very good choice, my man.

To adjust a bow sight always adjust the pin in the direction of the error. Move your pin to the left.

Will, thanks for getting us back into your shop. Nice build, I would love to have that knife in my kitchen, it would see lots of everyday meal prep. As to the AI algorithms, I think that too many companies are relying on it way too early. AI is not ready for prime time, but companies like Instagram are all about cheaper, faster - and you know that anything that is done the cheaper, faster way tends to suffer in quality.
