i usually host tourneys for fun in my discord server, and while i never do well in them, it's actually pretty fun to commentate. i feel like i got solid enough improv skills and decent knowledge for the game so that i can commentate well enough haha

You know what tilts me about the lvl 9 CPUs? They react to everything you do frame 1, because they literally read your inputs, but then either their punish is garbage or they escape disadvantage for free. You cannot hit them out of the air, because they airdodge one frame before your hitbox comes out, so you better hope you set up a frame trap with whatever you did if you want to deal any damage. But of course, if you're a pixel off or you intentionally want to bait them, they don't do anything you could punish because they knew you weren't gonna hit them.
The, they get an opening and punish you in the worst way possible. Like, if I didn't fight CPUs, I wouldn't know what Palu's up throw looks like, because there's no reason you'd want to use it over her other throws, but the CPUs do it anyway.
Actually, you can really easily bait the CPUs. Also, despite the fact they have insane reaction times, they purposely make mistakes. sometimes, they miss an attack they shouldn't, or they whiff a punish. If you play carefully against them, you'll find they have many weaknesses.

No joke, I just finished a 16 CPU tournament where there were 3 Kazuya's to defeat. Ryu and Ken lost to their Kazuya's but Terry won over the one he fought so that was cool. I even made a storyline where in a match, business suit Kazuya was trying to win against the ascended Golden Kazuya as he has always lost against him. He actually won though.....but lost again in thug finals (if you don't know what those are, go see Alpharad's old CPU tourneys) again to him again. Goes to show you can win a battle but not a war.
Damn the finals with Terry and Kazuya at 11:00 was nuts, had me on the edge of my seat!!

For best results, use final destination stage. CPUs combo better on stages like that. They can combo on any stage but FD seems to show better results.

Pretty sure I beat a level 9 Kazuya once with Ganondorf, but that's just because the cpu was doing the same stupid shit so that I could react to it. Example: The cpu always techs Ganondorf side B. Pretty much a 50/50 on whether they roll though.
