After seeing your video I went 55 years back. We were in chandigarh in 1968 when one day my mamaji visited us. I was a teenager then. We went to pinjore where hmt had their watch and tractor unit. Mamaji bought a janta model from there. I saw the same watch on his wrist for many years.
It would be a janata but not this one this an off catalogue design The idea of this design was suggested by hmt fans and requested from them to produce by hmt and hmt agreed to it so this is a modern design
I have 3 of these little Janatas, which I bought from HMT unity building showroom in Bangalore between 2013-14. All of them running perfectly. A 39-40 mm Janata with 20 mm lug width might have been wonderful. Does the Kohinoor wear a bit larger than Janata on the wrist?
I want to purchase exactly this type of HMT watch. You are requested to guide me in this regard. I don’t know how to make order for this and price. Thanks. 🙏

hmt is still making watches with the caliber 0231? I thought they stopped production of those in 2016?
Yes the company is shut down. But they are able to assemble watches with available 0231 Calibre and older dials.
