Hi guys!! My curiosity made me look for travelling videos of foreign people in my own city, as I am a tourist guide in Seville and i want to know what you guys like the most from our city. I agree, Triana is my fave neighbourhood. I have to say that the first week of december is holiday season in Spain (December 6, Constitution Day & December 8, Inmaculada Day), that's why it's crowded. In case anyone reading this lands by plane, the cheapest way to get to the city centre is the EA bus which costs only 3€. Great video btw!!! I love to see how much u guys appreciate my beautiful city!! You'll always be wlcomed back!!
Thank you so much Anghely! We loved Sevilla and hope to be back someday. We very much appreciate the travel tips! Please, feel free to add any useful information if you like. Cheers!!🍻
My wife and I are from Australia and travel to Europe most years to visit family and travel there. We have never yet been to Spain and we are planning to visit Seville in mid December 2023. We stumbled on your videos and I just want to thank you so much. Informative, easy to listen to, and well structured information. Much appreciated.
You will LOVE Seville! The city is beautiful and will be all lit up for the Christmas holiday. Perfect time of year to go. Thank you for the kind words and for watching our channel. Safe travels!!
Tickets can be bought online so that you can skip the queues for the major attractions. Also, you don't need to take a taxi from the airport; there is a public bus service that only costs €4.
I have been living in Sevilla for around 4 months now beautiful city and I absolutely agree it is a bucket list destination! As well just like you guys have said even after being here for an extended period of time you still walk down streets and see new beautiful buildings and sites that you never knew existed! Great video
I went to Seville on a day trip while staying in Torremolinos in Costa Del Sol and seen all the main tourist sites there as well as doing the river cruise. Personally, I think Seville is the beautiful city in Spain although Barcelona, Cordoba, Malaga, Ronda, Granada and Madrid are great cities to visit too
We really enjoyed Seville and made our way to Ronda as well. We stayed in Valencia and liked it but didn't compare to what we experienced in Seville. Thanks for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻
Absolutely agree with you that the cities of Andalusia are wonderful and all within a two hour drive from Malaga if you are staying on the Costa Del Sol. I would add Cadiz to the list of great places to visit.
We are about a month out from summer vacation and chose Seville for a two week stay sort of randomly. Was a bit apprehensive, but after watching your summary we are a lot more comfortable with the idea, so thank you! The apartment my wife rented just so happens to be in the Triana district, right on the river, so it was encouraging to see how much you enjoyed it!
Very nice David! You guys will love Seville. No reason to be apprehensive at all. Late spring/early summer will be a great time of year to be there as well. Safe travels and thank you so much for watching our channel!! Cheers!!!
Yeah! Thanks for the much needed, useful (safety) info on Triana. I leave for Sevilla in 3 weeks and have booked an Airbnb in Tirana. I feel better now. 😂
I agree with most of the things you mention in this video, but just a little additional thing ... if you book your tickets for attractions online, you can skip the line :) And for transportation from the airport: maybe Uber is cheaper? Also some Airbnbs offer a pick-up service. Mine picked me up from the major train station for 5 Euro. (But I don't know how far the airport is ...) I think some hotels will also offer pick up service, that's cheaper than taking a taxi.
Thank you, we really enjoyed our time in Sevilla. All the history and places to see we never ran out of things to do. Hopefully, you will be there soon enough. Cheers!!! 🍻
We are in Sevilla now. Taxis here are way way cheaper than Italy. Spain in general is cheaper than Italy. In Rome, we had an early flight taxi 80euros for a 29 min drive to the airport. Here in Sevilla, we paid a taxi 6euros from the train station for a 10 minute ride.

This is our first time traveling in Spain and we rented a car for a month from Portugal. Drove through Portugal and Southern Spain..Badajoz, Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, Acros de la Frontera, Jerez, Cardiz, and now in Seville. We are still debating whether we need or not need a car. We more tend to not needing a car.. for the reason of less choice of hotel, paying for parking in every place, high gas prices. In most of the places we visited we basically put the car in the parking garage and walk the city like Brian and Carrie.
@@mandyng8752 On past trips we have done exactly the same thing but this trip we are looking at just using buses or trains or whatever else we can find. Maybe just rent a car a few days if we want to take in some smaller towns or places around Seville we can't otherwise easily reach. Thanks for your post, sounds like a great trip. Enjoy Seville.

we are going to Seville in July (no choice) and I was partial to Triana for a variety of reasons. I have to ask: Are you willing to offer some suggestions about renting / Vrbo a place for 3-4 weeks? Our thanks.
We would not recommend the place that we stayed but would suggest staying in the neighborhood of Triana. It is just across the bridge from the old town. You will have a great time!! Safe travels! Cheers!!🍻
Thank you so much for your video. Sevilla is such a beautiful city. I love Spain... Been everywhere if I have the chance. But since covid not be able to go back there. Just booked Sevilla last week early June for one week. And I will look for accommodation in Triana area. Thanks😉
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thank you May! We really appreciate that! We would have loved to go to Cadiz but just couldn't make it happen. Hopefully we will be back soon enough. Thanks again. Cheers 🍻
Good job guys keep it up. For the Cathedral/Tower and Alcazar you can purchase the tickets online and pick the day and time of your choice that way you don't have to wait in line. (Cathedral ticket includes the visit to the former Cathedral of Sevilla which is Iglesia del Salvador. DO IT IN ADVANCE!!!!!!😄 Transportation: If you arrive to the city by train to Santa Justa Station take a connection (cercanias) train to San Bernardo Station that cost only 2.05 euros and from there catch the Subway to Puerta Jerez stop (this is right in the center of the city) which is like 0.85 cents for a single ride. I hope this help with options. By plane I believe they are currently working on a train connection that goes to the city

We are enjoying all your travel tips. We've been to Spain before but would like to stay for an extended period of time as you are doing. Please advise, how far in advance did you book your Air BNB's for each location? Did you have your schedule pre-planned or did you kind of wing it? Thanks
Thank you so much! We booked our first 3 months at the three different locations four to six months ahead of time. We didn't book our 4th month until late November because of covid and any possible travel restrictions. We felt safe doing so because it's the off season where we are going. Thanks again! Cheers 🍻
Transport.... yeah. I am going to be traveling Europe (including Andalucia) by bicycle so I ALWAYS have transport to cover those shorter distance hops.
Using a backpack was totally fine, but a sling bag was so simple. Really comes down to how much you need to carry. We only take the backpack now when necessary. Thanks for watching ☺️ Cheers!!
Here is the one we use. We've been very happy with it and it's very affordable. www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=d8e35d72-7038-46d7-9944-f64cdc64d199&website_id=07ce4335-e112-4c0a-932c-33a2e51dc93e&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsurfshark.com%2Fdeals
In this video we really just had some extra camera gear with us. Since changing out camera gear recently, when you see us with a backpack it's typically for beach towels and drinks ☺️☺️
Hello guys! Wife and I are planning to go to sparing for 50 days. Wonder how you guys’ luggage looks like for long term vacations. Thanks for the amazing content btw!!
Hi Alejandro. We have two backpacks and a 25 in. piece of luggage each. Most of our "first impression" videos show our baggage situation. We are going to do a video on how we pack in the coming months. Thank you for supporting our channel!!! Cheers!!!🍻
Thanks for such an awesome video! It was truly helpful. My wife and I are going in a couple weeks and will definitely take into account all the tips you guys dropped. I noticed you had drone footage, are drones easy to fly in The locations you flew? Wondering if I should bring mine or leave it at home all together. Thanks!
Hi Uzair. We actually do not have a drone. We decided that only doing carry-on luggage and traveling the way we do it would be another piece of equipment that we would have to pack around. We use Canva for all our drone footage. If you are unfamiliar with Canva it is a website for creators and one of the features is stock footage that we pay a monthly subscription for. We have had this question before and addressed it in our most recent video "Q&A" where we answered our most asked questions. Thank toy for watching!! Cheers!!!🍻
after recently visiting spain .it checked off all the the boxes for us in terms of relocating to a new country(safety and reasonable cost of living and bonus mild winters ....your thoughts?
I just got back from Sevilla and Lisbon and you guys are spot on in this video. Cab from the airport is 30 euros. Sevilla transportation is a mystery particularly in the old sections however it is an extremely walkable city. If you're going in the late spring or summer it may not be as conducive. Temps were generally 95-98 when I was there in the afternoon. Behind the cathedral and Alcazar on Constitution Ave there is a tram line but where does it go?? nowhere near any of the tourist spots. I would like to know how you would get to Plaza Espana (particularly from Triana) which is the one tourist spot that is a bit out of the way -- it looks closer on the map than it is from the cathedral and I walked it but some others may find it not walkable. I think a taxi/Uber is the only way. But if you're in the old section it is generally an easy walk around throughout and up to the more modern sections. I also walked to the Macarena section which seemed even older than the old section (Santa Cruz). Also be aware that street signs are absolutely hit or miss (and generally non-existent) in the old sections. GPS worked fine in Sevilla so getting around and finding my way was not an issue. I would also advocate using store markers as a way to figure out a way to get from point A to point B at least for the first couple of days if you don't have a working GPS. All in all it is a wonderful city and I had a great and very memorable time. The first glimpse of the tower is a remarkable sight everyone should experience!
Great job with an overview of Saville! We completely agree. Where does that tram actually go but back and forth? We walked all over the city but it wasn't 95 and we could. Cabs and Uber are available but the cost can add up. Thank you for adding this to the channel!! Cheers!!!🍻
Seville is very walkable, especially if you want to see the main tourist attractions. Plaza d'Espana is about a 15 minute walk from the Cathedral, or if that is a bit too much, there is also the option of renting bicycles. As regards transport to and from the airport there is also a bus service which is significantly cheaper (€4) than taking a taxi. I would also recommend taking a trip to Italica, which is about 15km from the city centre. Italica probably has the best preserved Roman ruins in all of Spain. And one final comment, avoid from mid-June to mid-September when the temperatures are often higher than 40 degrees Celsius.
Are you planning to visit Malaga? Since you both enjoyed Alicante (& Valencia although I know you mentioned it’s a little too big as a city), I’d be curious to see what you think of Malaga & whether it might be a place you could live ✨
Hi, I've been in Malaga 3 days and it was an horrendous experience. People from there were rude with tourist, answering unpolitely some questions about how to arrive to our hotel. Everything was really expensive and there were a lot of noise everywhere. They take advantage of being tourist to sell you expensive experiences, like dinners or tours without any quality. A totally disappointing city, based on taking tourist money. Never again.
That’s crazy you say it is English friendly. I’m not doubting you. But it shows how time changes a place. I was a grad student there three summers in a row studying art history. But this was 30 years ago. It was 100% Spanish. Not even the kids knew any.
Hi J T. We enjoyed the shopping district yes. Seville, with all the history and sites to see, is one of our favorite cities so far. We just loved being there. Cheers!!! 🍻
*Hey Brian and Carrie ! Good videos. I'm in Malaga and the Sevillans are quite similar in some way cause they're both in Andalucia so I'm curious what are your thoughts on dealing with the people themselves. Did you find them friendly with you as a foreigner or not so much ? In Malaga it is pretty tough to be a foreigner to be fair, even if you speak good spanish.*
I think Spain has just been overrun by tourists. We didn't find that the locals really went out of the way to be friendly, not that anyone was rude, just not friendly. Compared to where we are now in the Balkans, it is noticeably different. People are friendly, smile, and are genuinely interested in where you are from and how you like their country. So to answer your question, not so much. 🙂 Cheers!!!🍻
With a US passport we only get 90 days in the Schengen area of the EU (26 nations) then we have to leave for 90 days before returning. Cheers 🍻 www.schengenvisainfo.com/schengen-visa-countries-list/
Thank you for your videos! Could you advise how to calculate the taxes for the USA expats? I am considering to retire in Europe, and Spain is one of the strong candidates. My income mostly SS pension.
Thank you for the info, we're planning to visit just to see the cycling infrastructure, and all the other attractions. Scooters are easy and great, do have a go! I can recommend Porto Marina to Madelena Prai Beach in Portugal. Costs about 20 euros via BIRD app for non locals, or hire them from a shop.
Great advice Jesse. We have been to Porto, Portugal and it's one of our favorite places. We didn't do the scooters but know that they are easy to come by in Spain. Not so much here in Kotor, Montenegro where we just recently arrived. Thank you for your support and keep the tips coming! Cheers 🍻
@@BrianandCarrie - Beg to differ. Check video starting at 9:01 where Carrie says "..Spanish is STILL HEAVILY SPOKEN HERE ..et. al." What is does that imply? (Mind you, as you know, in certain parts of Spain among some groups Spanish is not their primary language.)
Meaning don't expect to have locals speak to you in English. Sorry you have been offended. We travel the world not just Spain and it is very common to have people speak to us in English wherever we go. It is also a common question from our viewers. Thank you for watching our channel. Cheers 🍻
Do you think they expected anything different? They are making a video to help visitors plan trips, visitors want to know if they speak Catan or Spanish and if communication would be more difficult. There is nothing to be confused about, unless you expect everything they say to be a new revelation!
I really like your videos. You get more into walking and taking in the local feel and vibe vs hitting all the touristy highlights which you can find on any good guide. This kind of travel is exactly what my wife and I are planning for next year. I look forward to all your videos since you guys are chill and honest about your experiences. I hope you get to southern France and northern Italy in your travels. I see occasionally some veggie options food wise, but do you also see a fair amount of vegan food options in your travels or not so much? Thank you.
Hi, Patrick. Thank you so much. We do see veggie options even in the Balkans where meat is king! We won't be getting to France or Italy until late 2024. Southeast Asia and Mexico or South America next year. Thanks again and safe travels! Cheers!!!🍻
Five days is a perfect amount of time with a day trip added. We really wish we had gone to Cadiz. You can take the train out of Seville and it is about 1.5 hrs. There is also a train to Cordoba that only takes about an hour. The cost was reasonable so we are kicking ourselves for not going to Cadiz. We had family in town so we (my sister) rented a privet tour guide and we went to Rhonda and a couple other small towns along the way. If you have the means that is a really nice way to go. We have no idea how much that cost! My sister insisted so we didn't argue or video any of it. We loved Seville and there is plenty to see. We did a video "Must-see sights of Seville" hopefully it gives you some ideas! You will have a great time and safe travels. Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Thankyou so much for that. I been thinking of seville or bacelona. Seville seems more cultural. Cordoba, granada I want to visit the other cities you mentioned sound good. Do you have to pay or book in advance to visit . The tourist places. So you would recommend seville
We do Airbnb because we stay for a month at a time. There are cabs and Uber every place in Seville. you won't have any problem getting to the train station. Cheers!!!
We would recommend Seville although we only had the opportunity to spend a couple days in Barcelona. You don't have to book anything in advance in Seville although there may be lines to get into the major attractions and can buy train or bus tickets at the station. You may want to check online for Availability but you shouldn't have any problems. We loved Seville!!!! Good luck and safe travels!!! Cheers!!!🍻
I love spain but you have to watch EVERYTHING you pay for, they will try to charge you for a drink or more expensive food. It happened to me 50% of the time.
Yes, it is! We weren't sure at first but started watching some of the other local beachgoers and they were beer. There were also vendors on the public beach selling mixed drinks. That seems to be the case here in Montenegro as well. Cheers!!!
Just got back from Sevilla, I had high expectations because everybody was ranting about it. I must be one of few, but didn't find this city amazing. 3, max 4 days in Sevilla is more than enough. I wouldn't go back to Sevilla. Málaga (nearby if you have a rental car) on the other hand, is in my opinion way more vibrant and way more fun to go to.
We would agree that 3 days is sufficient in Seville, it is a beautiful city with an amazing history. We haven't been to Malaga but hope to visit Southern Spain soon. Thank you for watching and safe travels!! Cheers!!!🍻
You have to have very lost taste. It is very rare to find someone who likes Malaga more than Seville. The hatred that exists in the people of Malaga towards Seville and its people is extremely well known. Are you sure you're not a Malagasy disguised as a foreigner? LOL
@@BrianandCarrie ... Malaga is not in the triangle of the great monumental cities of Andalusia... the beautiful Seville, Cordoba and Granada. Malaga monumentally has little to offer. Before Malaga, I would visit Ronda or Antequera, in the same province it offers more than the capital.
@@franciscojaviergarciadelav6502From the point of view of visiting Andalusia, Malaga and specifically Malaga Airport is the best for connections from all parts of Europe. Malaga is also very well located for day or overnight trips to all the major destinations in the region, being only a two hour drive from Cadiz, Sevilla, Ronda, Cordoba and Granada. Malaga also has a lot to offer tourists with the Alcazaba, Gibralfaro and Theatro Romano within a short walking distance from each other. It also has a lively old town with many bars and restaurants. Malaga has made tremendous strides over the last twenty years in developing tourism facilities, and I would definitely recommend a visit there. Also, if you are there over the Christmas period, it has a spectacular Christmas lights and music show on Called Larios, which rivals anything to be found in Europe.
Unfortunately for this beautiful city, Glasgow Rangers have made it to the final of the Europa League held there in just under 2 weeks. The most vile, racist, destructive group of supporters in football, who have an unhealthy hatred of innocent Catholics. See what they done to Manchester in 2008 for reference on what will happen.
Seville is verry beautiful, I love the markets everywhere, Taxis are a rip off in Spain, people everywhere, so many police because of the unemployment, They just employ everyone to turn them into hardworking people, these guys are really mean and useless, Summer in Seville can be quite hot

we are going to Seville in July (no choice) and I was partial to Triana for a variety of reasons.
Thanks😉
That's great! You will love Sevilla and the Triana district. Safe travels!! Thank you for your support and for watching our channel.

This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
You should definitely get to Seville soon! We will check out your channel!!!

Please make one on Cádiz... You guys are absolutely fantastic
DO IT IN ADVANCE!!!!!!😄
Transportation: If you arrive to the city by train to Santa Justa Station take a connection (cercanias) train to San Bernardo Station that cost only 2.05 euros and from there catch the Subway to Puerta Jerez stop (this is right in the center of the city) which is like 0.85 cents for a single ride. I hope this help with options.
By plane I believe they are currently working on a train connection that goes to the city
Thank you for adding this great information, and, for watching our channel.

Was this helpful Luisa? Thank you for the suggestion. This is something we are looking to add in future videos.

Cheers 🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Thank you. That's good to know. I'm sure I'll have more questions for you in time.
Transport.... yeah. I am going to be traveling Europe (including Andalucia) by bicycle so I ALWAYS have transport to cover those shorter distance hops.
🌷 Very good, I wish you luck and success
Thank you so much!!!

Great video guys. Thanks!
Thank you! We loved our time in Seville!

How was using a backpack in sevile? I'm debating between a sling bag or a 20l backpack
Using a backpack was totally fine, but a sling bag was so simple. Really comes down to how much you need to carry. We only take the backpack now when necessary. Thanks for watching ☺️ Cheers!!
What vpn do you use? Thank you. Informative vlog ❤
Here is the one we use. We've been very happy with it and it's very affordable. www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=d8e35d72-7038-46d7-9944-f64cdc64d199&website_id=07ce4335-e112-4c0a-932c-33a2e51dc93e&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsurfshark.com%2Fdeals
What do you carry in your backpack, just curious.
Cheers!!!🍻
Love it!
There's big buses from all airports & stations to the city centre for about $4 Euro pp
Great info Susana! Thank you 😊

Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie that’s actually really smart! Thanks for the reply and I’ll definitely check out the Q&A content! Keep rocking!

after recently visiting spain .it checked off all the the boxes for us in terms of relocating to a new country(safety and reasonable cost of living and bonus mild winters ....your thoughts?
Absolutely! We spent the first month in Valencia, the second in Alice and now Sevilla. Check out our videos on each. We loved Alicante!

@Paseos por Madrid lol ...compared to kamloops canada at -15 ill take spain anytime
❤
I want visit Seville because there live my friend with family
It is a beautiful city!! Thank you for watching our channel!
Hello again, what do you think about such cities as Tarragona and Girona?
Unfortunately, we haven't been to either of those places. Sorry, Vadim, we aren't much help.
Did your Airbnb have central heating?! I have heard it’s very cold in the winter and damp in the apartments. 😢
Yes, we did have heat. It got chilly while we were there so did need it.
Curious as to why you would take a taxi instead of public transportation ? Enjoyed this video and have subscribed so I can watch more .
Hi Bill, thank you for your support. The public transit system is really good but when we have all our luggage it's easier to take a taxi.
Cheers!!!🍻
What time of year did you go?
We were there mid-November to mid-December 2022.
Are you planning to visit Malaga? Since you both enjoyed Alicante (& Valencia although I know you mentioned it’s a little too big as a city), I’d be curious to see what you think of Malaga & whether it might be a place you could live ✨
Hi Sarah, unfortunately we ran out of time in Spain and couldn't make it to Malaga. We plan on coming back relatively soon. We loved Spain.
Cheers 🍻
We haven't had any problems communicating anywhere we have traveled to this point.
Cheers!!🍻
One month in Seville citing shopping district one of the highlights?
Cheers!!!🍻
How many days do you need to see the most important?
I would allow 3 days but you can easily spend a week in Seville and find something to do. It is an amazing place!
Cheers 🍻
How many more months do you have before you hit the 183 days?
We can only stay 90 days and then have to leave for 90 days. We are at 86 now! Four days left! Why leave Spain early? 😁
Cheers 🍻
@@BrianandCarrie I haven't heard of a visa like that, can you please tell me the type? Thank you.
With a US passport we only get 90 days in the Schengen area of the EU (26 nations) then we have to leave for 90 days before returning.

Thank you for your videos! Could you advise how to calculate the taxes for the USA expats? I am considering to retire in Europe, and Spain is one of the strong candidates. My income mostly SS pension.
Hi Vadim. We would advise you to talk to a tax accountant about this. We don't have any knowledge of that at this point.
Cheers!!!🍻
Cheers 🍻
"Spanish is heavily spoken here...!" For heavens sake --- what did you expect? It's Spain. It's their native language.
That's what we expected, spainish in Spain. Why wouldn't we? Confused on your comment.
Cheers 🍻
Spanish is not heavily spoken in Spain. For example in Catalona their first language in Catan. And a lot of people in Catalona speak zero Spanish.
Do you think they expected anything different? They are making a video to help visitors plan trips, visitors want to know if they speak Catan or Spanish and if communication would be more difficult. There is nothing to be confused about, unless you expect everything they say to be a new revelation!
There is not Cons for Sevilla !!!! This is pure Spain 🇪🇸
And for anyone planning on staying for an extended period, they also have Costco. Seriously though.
Nice!! A great way to save stock up and save as well. Thanks for watching ☺️

Is 5 days enough in seville. There not Lot to see in seville. What day trip city is the closet to visit
@@BrianandCarrie The hotels in seville are mostly room only. Is the train station easy to get to.
Good luck and safe travels!!!

taxi doesn’t get inside the city during holy week because of processions
I love spain but you have to watch EVERYTHING you pay for, they will try to charge you for a drink or more expensive food.
It happened to me 50% of the time.
Don't always complain about the crowd , u are one of them !
I suppose it's OK to drink alcoholic beverages while in public in Spain -- unlike in the U.S. ?
