How to Install a Proximity Sensor for the IoT

Sensing the position or state of a machine is often the first step to monitoring its overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). A proximity sensor can get this data without interfering with the machine itself.

So I'm trying to build something and I need some type of sensor that when it senses metal it turns on a eletric magnet for a breefe second or intill i remove the piece of metal but it also needs to be quick and since I have no idea what I'm doing any idea who I can contact for help. I watched your video to the end about 3 times now I think it would be simpler if I could just get some one with experience to do it for me I'm not even sure what all material I need so any help is appreciated...
