How to wire a valve actuator for the IoT

Building automation typically requires controlling heating and cooling water flow in the HVAC system. Here's an introduction to controlling water flow using an actuator mounted directly on the valve.
The video shows you how to wire power and an output module to the actuator, mount the actuator on the valve, and control it using a control program. You also may want to use data from the valve in other ways.

I think these videos are great, and they seem geared towards those who are getting their feet wet for the first time.
Down the road I would like to see more advanced topics such as connecting to Incremental shaft encoders, printers, card readers, RFID equipment, parallel output devices that require more than 8 input points (such as absolute encoders) connecting a stepper motor to the SNAP Motion Control Breakout Board.
