I have an American Original Jazzmaster and I recently got a MIJ 69 RI Fender Mustang (93) as my number two and it’s been incredible switching between the two. Both cover each other really well

Follow up. Once upon a time when I could barely play g-f-d I bought a D-35 and found myself totally overwhelmed by it. I sat down at the dealer and played a bunch of Martins of course and settled on an OM-1 (I forget the model number, probably a 12 or something) that was one of the first made in Mexico BTW and found it a lot more comfortable coming from a Folk Yamaha. So it isn't always about buying cheap and trading up just because you can.
Started on acoustic, cheap dreadnaught in highschool, upgraded a few times until I got a Martin. A year later, started on the electric side, started with a strat for like 15 years. Then a Tele with humbucker as I wanted both more twang and the ability to get woman tone. Next was an SG set up just for slide. Then a Les Paul. Then back to Fender, a custom Nashville Tele with contours to combine my favorite aspects of Strat and Tele. And recently, got a vintage Gibson ES-225T; was not on a search, neither for P90, semi-hollow, nor vintage, but was put in my hands and was magical. Also in there, grabbed a resonator for slide.
My first guitar was a Squier Strat because I'm left handed, it was pre-internet, and that was the one lefty the local shop had. Never bonded with that guitar. Second was an Ibanez with a Floyd style bridge because it was the one lefty at a local shop that wasn't a Strat. Never bonded with that either. Finally discovered the Epiphone Les Paul and that was what I had been wanting. After many years, I was able to move up to a Gibson Les Paul Studio and I'm set on that end. Then discovered Telecasters. I've had a Squier Classic Vibe for several years and looking to find my final Telecaster and I'll be good to go - one good Les Paul and one good Tele does everything I need.
Hey I'm left handed too and started and still playing my affinity Squier strat for 13 years now, I like it but I would like to upgrade but at the same time I'm not sure about the idea of having to identical looking guitars 🤔
@@johnf.r6658 FWIW, I actually just picked up an American Pro II Tele about a week ago and it's a completely different guitar from my Classic Vibe Tele. Both killer guitars, but sound and feel very different. So they are the "same shape", but still very different. May end up selling my Classic Vibe though because the AM Pro is so versatile. It's just so hard to try out guitars and see without the whole return thing.
Wanted to Les Paul player so bad growing up and own some nice ones but for the most part I’m a Strat player. When choosing another guitar it’s always a Strat based style guitar. An HSS is my “go to” for most part these days but in my stable I just about every pickup combination you can think of. A good compromise to get that Les Paul tone with a Fender-ish feel was a EVH Wolfgang USA.
I bought a G&L Tribute Doheny which I call the Jazzmaster clone as my first guitar. It can do enough. Great guitar! I’ve tried the Fender Squier Cabronita Telecaster and I’m really impressed about how light that thing is and how it sounds.
Was a one guitar guy for 20 years haha Started with a First Act then got a sweet Godin after my parents realized how obsessed I was. I regret selling the Godin but I did for an Ibanez RG series. From there moved to a PRS SE Custom 24 which was pretty awesome. Sold that and got an SE Custom 22 semi hollow.... which honestly wasn't that great. Then I saw it. A Sienna Sunburst American Standard strat with a 60th anniversary plate hanging on the wall of my local shop. It is absolutely magical and is complete BEAST with custom fat 50s pickups. Love that thing. Fairly recently became a 2 guitar guy with an American Deluxe Tele. That thing is amazing and we've definitely bonded! Never and will never be interested in owning a Gibson. They just don't do it for me 🤷♂️ Yes I have tried them. I am content with 2 guitars. I could see 3 if I find an awesome Godin again but I'm the kind of player that gets so used to their guitar that I don't do very well with guitars that feel different from each other. Scale length is a big one for me. The 25.5 length of the tele/strat both with modern C necks is perfect for me and not much of a transition at all. As far as acoustics go I've owned the same Alvarez since I started playing 20 years ago. Basically can't replace it because of how well the wood aged. That thing has a massive sound.
I have always been a les paul player for years, now i got got a fender strat for some thing different . very happy, now i want to get a Epi Casino because im a big Beatles fan
Great episode guys! Sweet sweet topic. So here are some questions for you: (I don’t expect a reply but maybe could spawn some episodes…) 1) What are both or your #1 & 2 (top5?) acoustic & electric guitars (with stories)? 2) If you’re willing, how many guitars do you own?
Four years ago my first guitar was an Epi SG and I really liked it. Only a few months later I saw a Squier HH Tele for not much money and I grabbed one. I never planned on owning more than one but the more I tried the more I wanted, I wanted the full experience of all the different styles and shapes. Not long after that got a great price on an Epi LP. Then a game-changer, GC put a beautiful plus top Player Strat on sale and that changed my perspective for quality and sound and playability. Then the Videos that say "The 5 Guitars Every Player Should Own". Got a great deal on a Gibson Tribute LP and no more Epis. Discovered G&L and quit buying Squiers. Bought a used Gretsch hollowbody locally and now it is one of my favorites. For me the guitars in the $500-$1K range are the sweet spot and I have collected 24. It is like a box of chocolates, you have to try them all.
I wish I could have been so lucky to have had a strat or tele for my first guitar. I started with a low end Ibanez. Second guitar was acoustic takamine. It wasn’t in I was halfway through college that I got my first Mexican tele and loved it.
I did the medium route. Got a Epiphone Les Pual, then a Ibenez RG series. Never worked with the Ibenez. Got Gibson LP studio, and was more me. Then got a PRS CE24 and that became my primary. . Granted, I have all ranges covered with a Silver Sky, an Explorer, and a Zemaitis. Those are all fun and I rally like the Explorer, but usually come back to that CE24.
I had a good collection of Ibanez guitars in the early to mid-2000s. Different body shapes and similar pickup configurations. These days I'm more interested in utility and tones. I have a variety of guitars and strive to not duplicate pickup configurations. Much more interesting to play. To Gibson, I'd not forget the LP Jr. or the SG. Insightful viddy, gentlemen. Thank you 🙏
I had a fat strat and a LP for a very long time. My favorite of the two at any given time is the one I’m playing; couldn’t choose if I had to sell one I just added a third that I’ve actually bonded with, unlike thirds in the past. It’s one of those new Ibanez as es guitars. It’s a stratty thing that is very light weight so my back likes it! It was cheap so I’m going to be modding it If you’re going to have only two get one nice one and one cheap one! One for home, to live and cherish, and the other for modding and gigging and tearing it up! Listen to Yankee Rose by David Lee Roth. The beginning is an example of Vai doing the wammy wah thing
I've had a Strat since the mid 80's. I've been really drawn towards a Tele for awhile now. Something about a Tele screams simplistic beauty to me. Hearing you guys say it would be a logical progression helps in that decision
I have a good idea of the next few guitars I want to add to my collection over the coming years. The only problem is that they’re all blue and I feel like I should have more variety in my colors lol
Hey! Baxter shouting out /my/ first guitar, the Brian May Special! 😊 My second guitar was a pink paisley Acoustasonic Telecaster. I have some acoustic options that my electric doesn’t offer, I scratched that Tele itch, and my only Fender happens to be my favorite Fender color/finish. (So yes, I guess I actually did kind of pick based on the color.)
I like playing them all. I don't really have a "main" guitar. I want all the iconic body shapes and pickup types and scale lengths and neck shapes. Currently play a Les Paul, a Strat, a Tele, a PRS Custom, and a Suhr Modern. I need an SG Special (P90s) and a semi-hollow 335 like thing.
I started with the PRS Silver Sky SE a few months ago and technically my second guitar is a Cordoba classical...while fun for playin outside and with friends electric is def more my vibe. My second electric will be an Epiphone Casino soon
I look at this like colors in a crayon box. In the world of guitars, the “colors” are the sounds-so I have added guitars over the years (acoustic and electric) that give me different sounds. That can be due to pickups or tone woods. The other avenue of pursuit is having guitars with different specs and features. For instance, my first PRS was a 20th Anniversary Custom 24. Seven years later I bought another and very limited edition Custom 24, that has pickups which sound different than my anniversary C24. There are other features like the upgraded shell material of the birds on the fretboard, a hand-signed headstock from Paul and upgraded top in a color that was not part of the normal production run for that year.
Hi, I went the opposite. I had a Gibson, then got a 1978 Les Paul Standard & then found a Squier II Strat... fast forward to when I got a Tele and realized most of my tone was me and the Telecaster could do it all... The Les Paul was done for me.
I’d say if you start with an electric, get an acoustic. If you start with an acoustic, get an electric. Those two will cover you if you’re starting out. Afterwards, once you find what you like in terms of music, then you can get into all other genre preferred guitars to see which one fits best. Funny Baxter mentioned the Brian May red special. I play my Brian Mays and they are literally the combo of a strat, tele, les paul. I can get any sound from it, it is , literally, the most versatile guitar ever made.
I just keep buying the same guitar. Years ago I discovered the Revstar 502 the one with the wrap tail. Now whenever I see one pop up I buy it. I did the whole, Tele, Strat, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, SG, Les Paul, Jr, 335, this one in maple this one in rosewood or ebony. Now just the Revstar, middle ground between a Tele and Paul to me and possibly only to me and that’s ok. When I find something that I like I purchase multiple, like shirts. One less thing to think about.
1st was a Conrad 1245, wanted a Fender Mustang but my mom said they were too expensive! 2nd was a '60 or '61 single cut melody maker that had been retrofitted with 2 humbuckers, probably PAFs. Had a headstock repair and was refinished with a dark stain. The neck was to die for. I'd kill to get it back. I still have the Conrad...
Agreed. Avoided Teles for years because of their association with country music. Boy was I wrong. It’s a do-it-all guitar especially with the Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickups.
I love my Am pro jazz bass, gotta have the Am pro Precision in the stable though. Just bought a Jackson minion for fun. Looking for an Olive Green Gibson Sg Bass, also looking for a tv yellow Gibson dc bass.
I've got 2 American Pro Strats that I love and now I want an American Pro II Tele Deluxe. For me they have the perforce comfort neck and I want those two hum buckers :)
My frame of mind was to either get a significant improvement or something completely different. My first was an electric #2 was an acoustic. #3 was an acoustic bass and at #4 I started trying to improve on stuff I liked and trying out different models to see what the hype is about for things like P90s, Jazzmasters, 335s, etc.
I am mainly a tele player and I have several other guitars. A couple weeks ago, I had a stolen guitar returned to me after 9 years. It was a parts strat with super super cheap components but decent neck and body. The neck is a squier affinity strat neck. Long story short I made a one humbucker strat out of it and I literally cannot put it down.
I approached getting a guitar the same way I went about dating in high school and college. I sampled just about everything that was visually pleasing. I dated different girls, different types of girls and slowly eliminated what I didn't like. Over a long period of time the choices narrowed down until I found the one I married. So I approached the electric guitar the same. I tried several different makes and designs. I was looking for comfort, ease of play and sound. I tried, Ibanez, epiphone, gibson, fender, yamaha, peavey, jackson, and LTD. Within those makes I tried different models and slowly eliminated what I didn't like. I had a choice. Either become a user of several models or a specialist at one. As I've observed most of the greats in rock music, they've narrowed their choices to one model, one make of guitar and became an expert of that particular design. I out of elimination, I went the "only one design" option. After years of traveling this road, the Fender Stratocaster won the race for me. Hence, I am like Eric Johnson, Malsteen, Blackmore, Clapton, Trower, Hendrix, Townsend, etc. going the strat route. As a result, I buy another stratocaster when I'm wanting a different sound, by changing the pickups and hardware. My hands and body have gotten so used to playing a stratocaster - the comfort, ergonomics, the neck, the contoured body, the position of the volume nob, the pickup switch, etc.
Interesting to hear the discussion - I started (again, 50 yrs later) with a used Washburn acoustic; after all, if Keith Richards says to start with an acoustic, why not? after a few years, I bought a Tele because it felt better (to me) than the Strats; so my 2nd electric was a Gretsch (Les Paul like shape but twangy); then an Epiphone "inspired by Les Paul" standard; then a Sire 335 version ... nothing very expensive with differences in feel, sound ... and now thinking "do I really want that Danelectro 12 string?"
My buddies and I avoided Gibson for years, starting off as Fender guys. Now I love Gibson guitars. My favourite guitar now is probably my Firebird - and I used to be put off them by the metal connotations growing up in the 80s and 90s. I didn’t dislike that style of music but it was not what I play. Now I think they look cool, sound great and play really well. Until you’ve tried lots of different types of guitars, it’s hard to know what will work for you .
My second guitar was a more expensive version of my first guitar. Basically, I bought the guitar that my first guitar was a knock-off of. I loved everything about it, so I just bought the better, brand name one.
I have too many guitars for just two live now. I take a Guild Bluesbird for that Les Paul territory as imo, this 99 AAA is way better for that vibe than what it is copying. Then, I got 2 Stratocasters, 2 Telecasters, 1 Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus, one Martin SPD16TR, a Gretsch G5232, and a Reverend Jetstream 390. I can play it all, as the Floyd is overkill when you can nail today's locking tuners, Graphtech nuts, and 2 point tremolo. So much easier to also achieve spot on tuning stability.
I got a Yamaha acoustic, an Alhambra classical, a epiphone lp standard, a squier strat classic vibe, a solar 7 string and i’m really happy with my collection i only feel i need a 8 string or a fr guitar (a dean ml 79 or other solar i think) i’ve tried to buy the most types of guitars i love to play and not more than one for each type
My journey so far has been les Paul, tele then strat. I haven’t touched either the LP or tele since I got my strat. I literally just picked up a firebird but it plays so differently I had to list it on reverb as I purchased it as is no returns.. always try before you buy if you have that luxury
My number is an Olympic White Strat and I'm currently in the slow process of building my number two. A Tele -Strat with a big headstock. The neck I have spec'd out is gonna be like $475 with shipping so we're just gathering hardware and pups right now. Lol The body is an alder Tele style I got in a kit. The rest of the kit was pretty much garbage though. Ask me about my number two in about 3 years. 😅
Interesting discussion! (a) I started out with a 1968 Les Paul Custom in the early 70s and added a Japanese (Roland) Strat in 1980. Perfect 'duo' for me then (and now, for that matter). (b) Early 90s I bought a Roger Sadowsky NYC S Style HSH, which has been my go to in the studio ever since. I figured for the occasional live work a back-up would be a good idea so bought a PRS SE 24 -08, which offers a similar Humbucker / Single Coil range of sounds at a pinch.(c) Advice for the young at heart . . . if you have a guitar that absolutely does it for you then why not just grab another one in the same family - maybe a more recent, or even a vintage version, that delivers the same core vibe but with a bit of a twist?
I started off with a strat. Poor thing survived having kids. Now I have sounds in my head I'm chasing. Sometimes it's the strat, sometimes it's my fender FMT. Then it could be mini humbuckers or 335 styles.
Ops I didn't watch this and I am already on my 3rd guitar and looking to get a fourth! I started with an SG prophecy and then got myself a '60s LP. Then a modern SG, all Epiphone so far. Not really a fan of the bolt-on designs so getting a strat-style guitar will most likely not be a Fender, I like the PRS guitars and that seems to be a good alternative with good quality.
I've always been a Les Paul guy, but my first non LP model was a Tele ultra Texas tea. I loved it, but it just wasn't exactly for me. My next non LP is a MusicMan Valentine I'm getting this weekend, then maybe a nice 00 acoustic.
@@jawknee21 those are fantastic guitars! The neck is gorgeous and so smooth. I decided on the Valentine only because there's a BFR edition with the flame top for sale at a shop near me and I have an unused trade in credit there. The Sabre is also very nice. You really can't go wrong with any of their models, but yeah they aren't cheap.
A good recomendation is to make sure that 2nd guitar works with your amp. Most own only one amp. I am not one of them but it's important to make sure your amp likes that guitar.
LP goddess that I had to send back, lp studio, epi master built, Gresch tiger jet, rat rod, ec1000, epi extura, 2 teles in a week, gretsch 5620t, then American strat. Looming at a firebird studio next. But I also want a different amp. 😕
Im a strat and telecaster guy. I tend to chase them... Buy the same ones in different colors. Even still they all feel so different oddly enough. Ive dabled in Carvin (2 guitars I still have)... One is sorta Les Paulish... Other is sort of SGish. Id love to get an Ibanez, Gretsch (White Falcon), Less Paul standard, A nice SG, An Explorer. Kind of mix em in to my Fender stuff. Ive got 4 home-made warmoth jobs. I love the hell out of them.. But Im copying fender so They're basically Fenders. I don't know.. Why do I collect them? Id guess it's because I feel each guitar I have makes me play it a little different. They all have different vibes. And.. I think they're beautiful all on display in my appartment. Spend a lot of time just looking at them.
Strats and Strat-shaped objects dominate my lineup, with Teles, Lesters, and Gretsch hollowbodies tied for second. Sometimes a guitar strikes like lightning. The moment you pick it up, you know. You trust but verify. You play it for a short while, but you know. But even with those instruments -- and for me, most instruments -- real symbiosis, deep familiarity . . . that simply takes time. It takes risk. Even if you've been at this for decades, you never know what surprises a guitar might hold in store a few dozen sessions down the line.
One thought is if you have a solid body electric, maybe get a semi or hollow body for your second. Totally different tonal range and can compliment each other really well. Like the way Slash has Fortus to compliment the LP with his Gretsch Falcons.
Strat, Les Paul, Tele was the order of m first three. Sold my LP to buy my 4th, 5th, and 6th guitar. Tomorrow is new guitar day…#9. Each of them have to be different…that’s what I tell my wife…
Check this out…my first electric guitar was a Fender Duo Sonic that I purchased from Mass Street Music for $100 in 1995. It was perfect. I still seek that sound. My second guitar was an Ibanez JS with an effing Floyd Rose. I got it because it looked like a gift from the gods. I was wrong. I played it till my fingers bled, but it was simply too much guitar for me. You think you want the Camaro SS 1LE until you drive her for the first time and “HOLY HELL…I GOTTA RETHINK THIS!!!” Same thing happened with the Ibanez. I’ve been frightened by Floyd Rose guitars ever since. I need therapy. 😂
I have 5 tele, 2 strat, 1 ES335, 1.les paul, 2 acoustics, 1 bass. Its good to have all shapes because its like food it tastes different all are diff.. better get it all
Sure wish I had someone to guide me through the thought processes of buying gear. I just went by instinct and looks. I now know a lot better to consider things like: neck; frets; pickups; scale length; etc. I really didn’t know what I was doing. To some extent, I still don’t. I do know I can adapt to any neck shapes but don’t want active pickups and prefer at least one humbucker. All I really knew starting out was that I wanted the same guitar as David Gilmour. Yup, I’m the haphazard guy.
I paired my SG with humbuckers with a Noventa Tele with a P90. I also had a PRS with split coils, because I thought it would be the best of both worlds, but I ended up selling that. Good guitar, but it never clicked with me.
I get the not clicking... i just had to start over and currently have a fairly nice LTD... it has all esp appointments and i got it cheap so i had to grab it when the opportunity came up but for some reason im also already planning on the next step up as soon as the opportunity presents itself as well.. i just dont feel the vibe woth it for some reason.
When I first started playing, my buddy had 2 guitars: A Les Paul and. Telecaster. I asked, “Why would you need more than one?” 1 Super Strat 1 Howard Roberts Fusion 1 Doubleneck 1 Les Paul 2 SGs later…… GAS…. The struggle us real.
Thank goodness you made this video. I really needed help in picking my 26th 2nd guitar! 🤣🤣🤣

It depends on what you feel comfortable playing. The weight, the neck profile and radius would make a difference. Not just the pickups.
Scale length too!
I went LP to Tele because I like single cuts. Or no cuts, like my V.
I went Strat to Les Paul and then back to Tele and have been basically Strat and Tele ever since. I have always been a les paul player for years, now i got got a fender strat for some thing different . very happy, now i want to get a Epi Casino because im a big Beatles fan
Love this type of video, and love my 3 (soon to be 4) Teles. But I’ve had them all!
Great episode guys! Sweet sweet topic. So here are some questions for you: (I don’t expect a reply but maybe could spawn some episodes…)
1) What are both or your #1 & 2 (top5?) acoustic & electric guitars (with stories)?
Those are all fun and I rally like the Explorer, but usually come back to that CE24.
after you get that 2nd then your in..oh man that guitar is so pretty i need it
I started with Ibanez and went right into PRS ! Now I’m a PRS and Music Man sting ray collector.
My favorite of the two at any given time is the one I’m playing; couldn’t choose if I had to sell one
I just added a third that I’ve actually bonded with, unlike thirds in the past. It’s one of those new Ibanez as es guitars. It’s a stratty thing that is very light weight so my back likes it! It was cheap so I’m going to be modding it
If you’re going to have only two get one nice one and one cheap one! One for home, to live and cherish, and the other for modding and gigging and tearing it up!
Listen to Yankee Rose by David Lee Roth. The beginning is an example of Vai doing the wammy wah thing
Already picked. Bust ordered an Epiphone Coronet in cherry to go with my Squire Contemporary Tele.
Wow ,Casino after dark. Baxter you saucy minx!
Right now ...squire strat, Gibson sg faded, EPI LP Standard , and custom tele build. 🎸👍
My second guitar was my Jackson King V. Still have it to this day!
I've had a Strat since the mid 80's. I've been really drawn towards a Tele for awhile now. Something about a Tele screams simplistic beauty to me. Hearing you guys say it would be a logical progression helps in that decision
I played a strat for 25 years, and then bought a Tele 2 years ago. I've barely picked up the strat since!
Ive been playing on my free DRIVE made in china strat for almost 10 years.. finally thinking of upgrading
I have a good idea of the next few guitars I want to add to my collection over the coming years. The only problem is that they’re all blue and I feel like I should have more variety in my colors lol
For me it's red, I have a red Les Paul that started it
Maybe blue is your thing.
Hey! Baxter shouting out /my/ first guitar, the Brian May Special! 😊
My second guitar was a pink paisley Acoustasonic Telecaster.
Happy owner of a Les Paul but I also really want an ES335. So comfortable to play. I'd go with that then consider a strat for number 3.
I started with the PRS Silver Sky SE a few months ago and technically my second guitar is a Cordoba classical...while fun for playin outside and with friends electric is def more my vibe. My second electric will be an Epiphone Casino soon
I can't wait for the incremental weekly segments!!
Martin D18 player. I finally went for a 2022 Taylor 514ce.
@Casino Guitars I just found you guys. Please keep the great content coming.
I only played Metal so my 1st - 8th guitar have been electrics. I haven’t found the need or desire of an acoustic.
Easy, silver sky!
I've mostly had Les Pauls and super Strat guitars. My first real "2nd" (or 3rd) was when I got a Tele.
Highly recommended !
Agreed. Avoided Teles for years because of their association with country music. Boy was I wrong. It’s a do-it-all guitar especially with the Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickups.
@@tonepilot Heh, yeah I always associated Teles with country as well. Boy was I wrong too. Very cool guitars !
Charvel San Dimas HSS HT was my recent second guitar🥳
Strat- Strat- Tele-Tele- Starcaster- Strat- Jazzmaster. Keeping them all Cheers.😊🤘🛩🎸
I love my Am pro jazz bass, gotta have the Am pro Precision in the stable though. Just bought a Jackson minion for fun. Looking for an Olive Green Gibson Sg Bass, also looking for a tv yellow Gibson dc bass.
45K! Congrats guys!
Ouch, acoustic bass. That’s should be your like 4th or 3rd bass.
Yes danelectro 12 strings are awsome !
Hey, congrats on 45K subs, guys.
The journey is what it's all about
4:17 Baxter: "In my apartment, I'll crank it"
Jonathan: *Jim Halpert stare into the camera*
Had a 2021 les paul standard and a tele. The les paul was crap so I traded it for a nice Strat I think I’m good now.
Started with a Strat, I've had or tried just about every type of guitar and sold them all to go back to the Strat format.
I love the fine tuning on my Floyd Rose !
I like the variety. I don’t like having multiples of similar guitars
My journey so far has been les Paul, tele then strat. I haven’t touched either the LP or tele since I got my strat. I literally just picked up a firebird but it plays so differently I had to list it on reverb as I purchased it as is no returns.. always try before you buy if you have that luxury
I love my Firebird. Came to them late after 25+ years of playing. As a kid I used to think they look silly!
You guys are the best.
I've always been a Les Paul guy, but my first non LP model was a Tele ultra Texas tea. I loved it, but it just wasn't exactly for me. My next non LP is a MusicMan Valentine I'm getting this weekend, then maybe a nice 00 acoustic.
I've been looking at a stingray rs but I don't need to spend that much right now. I'll probably get one though
This should be an episodically sequential series: How To Choose Your 17th Guitar...
5vin rotation. Bluesy all mahogany 6. Chimey Myrtle wood 6 and 12, cheap Ibanez 12, hofner 6 string electric. Each has a place at my table
I’ve had a Strat and a Tele an a PRS ……..but I’m a true blue Custom Shop Les Paul guy !
Perfect Timing guys^^ lets spend mooney!!
How about my 22nd guitar? Can you do a video on that?
Strats and Strat-shaped objects dominate my lineup, with Teles, Lesters, and Gretsch hollowbodies tied for second. Sometimes a guitar strikes like lightning. The moment you pick it up, you know. You trust but verify. You play it for a short while, but you know. But even with those instruments -- and for me, most instruments -- real symbiosis, deep familiarity . . . that simply takes time. It takes risk. Even if you've been at this for decades, you never know what surprises a guitar might hold in store a few dozen sessions down the line.
I need a Gibson es339. I don't get along with teles and strats
One thought is if you have a solid body electric, maybe get a semi or hollow body for your second. Totally different tonal range and can compliment each other really well. Like the way Slash has Fortus to compliment the LP with his Gretsch Falcons.
Hohner Les Paul, Charvel model6, Ovation acoustic, Yamaha nylon silent guitar, Yamaha Fg180 70's steel string, Taylor 215 , Epiphone Masterbilt acoustic, 1939 Epiphone lap steel, Epiphone LP standard w/split coils, 1969 SG special, 2009 SG special, 2020 SG special, 1996 Fender Usa jazz bass, mid 80's Precision, mid 80's Jazz special, 1887 Fairbanks and Cole banjo, 1923 Gibson A3 mandolin, mountain dulcimer, custom ukekele, 90's MIM Strat, Faith 12 string.
Missing: Hollow body electric, acoustic nylon, double-neck 6-13 electric.
Good morning from Canada 🇨🇦 guy's. Can you do a video on picking out your 10th guitar:)
2nd or 22nd guitar? ✌️❤️🎸
When I first started playing, my buddy had 2 guitars: A Les Paul and. Telecaster.
I asked, “Why would you need more than one?”
1 Super Strat
1 Howard Roberts Fusion
1 Doubleneck
1 Les Paul
2 SGs later……
GAS….
The struggle us real.
Looking forward to the “how to pick your 10th guitar”.
Whoa did Baxter just quote Kim's Convenience!?
Ohh dear... Too late!
