Full auto is way better than the horrible limited 3 round burst and this is how the M16A2 should have configured the right way. The only reason for the 3 round burst limiter is for the insist of the Marine corps. Also, the burst mechanism itself is horrible because it affected the timing of the trigger pulls to hinder accuracy and it also does not reset, meaning after firing 1 or 2 rounds on semi then switch to burst, only 1 or 2 rounds fire instead of the full 3 rounds. In the end, it’s better to have a soldier trained to use full auto effectively instead of putting in the burst limiter.

It's actually a Olympic Arms/P.A.W.S transferable lower receiver, that I slapped an Colt HBAR upper on, so it's sort of an A2/A3'ish configuration. I like like it.
Oh ok, i have a couple of factory Colt A1’s that I was fortunate enough to get before prices went full blown retarded on things. The last transferable factory Colt A2 i saw listed was almost 50k.

It had the exact visual configuration as the A2 except it did have full auto instead of 3 round burst like the A2. The Marines used/use M16A4s which is the flat top version and still using the 3 round burst. So this is either an A3 or it's an A1 variant with an A2 ish upper.
They did have some full auto marked a2s that went to LE and/or guards for nuke power plants and even some for export that made it into the registry as I understand it.

It does and it’s because the M16 3 round burst has what’s called ‘memory’, which means you have to hold the trigger down for the entire 3 rounds and only release when the 3 rounds is complete. If you don’t, the gun will only give you the remainder of the 3 from the last shot. So instead of 3 rounds you may only get 1 or two rounds. So a computer is in charge of the rifle instead of the shooter well you can keep your ‘three it only works sometimes’ button and shove it where YOUR sun don’t shine MISTER!
Looks like an M16A1 lower, it doesn't have the reinforcements at the rear of the receiver that the A2 and later lowers were upgraded with. Really nice gun though no one's really gonna notice a small detail like that.
M16a2 that fires full auto? looks like the lower is from M16a1 and the rest are from A2. I have read that some m16a1 are being converted to m16a2 during 1991 gulf war to equip the back line troops cause most of them were equiped with m16a1. I saw many pictures of them using m16a1 during gulf war.

Full Auto? That's an M16A3, not an M16A2 (which only has the 3 Round Burst... tho I believe as far as NFA laws go, Burst is still treated the same as Auto legally... but as far as the US Govt is concerned, Full Auto is the difference between the A3 and A2 M16s. Although I suppose you can get really pedantic and say the very first rifles that would later be designated M16A3 were originally marked M16A2E1... but some of those were also simply M16A2 uppers with -A1 Lowers before the manufactures built a proper -A3 with the -A2 lower and just Auto instead of Burst... I hears anecdotally some units in the late 90s/early 2000s had unofficial "M16A3" by pairing A2 uppers with M4A1 lowers though I don't believe that was widespread at all. Basically a weird and convoluted history for the A3 that was never bought in significant numbers....)

Yeah I agree, full auto fire rate is way more accurate imo than the burst. Groups were all over my qual target on burst.

The M16A2 isnt full auto.. that there is an early 16A3.
Colt M16A2 has full auto in Model 701, 703, 708, 711 and 715.
