Great vlog. Flew out of the new area in June. Great improvement. To be honest I think eating in any airport at the moment is a nightmare. When I came back in June I brought a roll from our local deli & had it on the plane. Much less stress. xx
The only airline we've had problems with are Thompson (never again). We used to always fly Monarch until they shut down, but now use Jet2, except for during the plague when they cancelled our flights and Ryanair were still working (no problems, just VERY reduced legroom, we both have long legs).
We flew through the new terminal on Wednesday morning and it was an absolute dream! We arrived around 8.30am and were checked in, bags dropped and through security using the family lane within 5 minutes - couldn’t believe it! The new duty free area is lovely…only issue we had was the queue for stamping the passports, the same as you only 1 guy stamping isn’t enough - As I say though check in and security was a breeze xx

Great vlog again 👍Flown Ryanair last few visits and they were spot on. Flying with them again in September. Used new terminal in May which was great but totally agree the food and drink situation needs sorting always easier to get something before leaving resort.

The new section has a better duty free section than the older one, which is now closed. I was at the newer section earlier this year and they hadn't opened up the duty free then, so it's refreshing to see it looking operational & slick. It reminds me of the Barcelona airport terminal sections, which is a good thing. I hope they'll open up some branded stores in the older closed duty free. They used to have a hugo boss, Lacoste and gap in the older section some years ago, and they closed them down before the pandemic. Your comments regarding the existing main food court are spot on; it's always chaotic, with long queues. That's due to the increased volume of people wanting to come (and eventually having to leave) the beautiful island 🏝

@@TheKnightStrider no worries, I was struggling to find many reviews online and considering it for the way home after seeing how busy Tenerife airport looks. We used the one in Birmingham on the way out which was great to avoid the chaos.
Was at the airport a couple of weeks ago for a 12pm flight and food court area was very quiet with little to no queue but had to queue to get into WHSmith's as it was so busy. Eventually gave up and just used the vending machines for drinks 🙂

I think Tenerife South airport should enlarge the food area by extending into the old duty free section. Lovely to see the surprise on the faces of your mum and sister, they’ll enjoy having you home awhile. Ryanair? I’ve never had any problems with them up to now, who needs frills on a short haul flight anyway?

Totally agree with your comments and advice Andrew and echo your smooth experience which was similar to ours, this time from Tenerife South to Leeds with Jet 2 done in late June 22. Make sure you have got through Passport Control before you relax as it’s a fair walk from the very busy food hall and there could be a few plane loads of passengers queuing at Passport Control. The only frustration I found was when the gate number is marked “Will be announced at a specific time” and you have to wait and you can’t progress through to the gate specific passport control. There are plenty of seats and toilets in the new part though. Enjoy your well-deserved break and the cooler UK weather this weekend. Great to see you on the flight deck and it was a great family surprise. Thank you for sharing. Safe return.

Was booked too fly with Ryan air January 2021 when we were unfortunately not able to fly due to COVID restrictions tried to get a refund but they refused to give us one. So will not use Ryan air again. It was not our fault that we could not fly. Was not happy we lost over £400.
Went to Newcastle airport other week .. thought was really busy . Was no problem.. but do you think was really quiet before .. but probably back to normal now ish.. going thru security took 15 mins .. not bad ..
An informative vlog Andrew. As long as you stick to the Ryanair rules, from my experience, you will be fine. You were lucky to be invited into the cockpit! Those were the days and it brings back happy memories during a flight from The Seychelles to LHR many years ago.

I've got a four and a half hour flight from Athens to Dublin coming up and was horrified to read that apparently there is now only one toilet onboard and you cannot use it without asking permission. Was this your experience?

Bought a Brevit for my granddaughter on your recommendation. She loves it for her camera equipment. She is in Costa Adeje for a month doing monitoring whales and dolphins for the Spanish conservation board. Having a ball.

We are flying Ryanair in December to Tenerife Sur, I was originally flying to Latvia 3 weeks ago, but they had to cancel due to air traffic control issues, no fault of Ryanair. Because I booked directly with the airline, I was offered a full refund, or and alternative flight. I opted for the refund and took the train instead. Good decision as those alternative flights were cancelled.
Just done 2 weeks on the 1st of July with Ryan Air was great!! Coming back in 7 weeks for 5 nights to look at wedding venues any recommendations,can not wait!!
