I LOVE Freddie Cannon, his songs were always fun and upbeat. He sounded great here and didn't miss a beat or move. SNN of course was perfection as usual. SNN always lifts my spirits. Thank you Foofsmom. :o)
I lived only a few blocks from Palisade Amusement Park while growing up and went almost every day in the summer. When people hear this song they have no idea it's about a real place! Sadly. It was knocked down in 1971 to build high rise apartments. But all those of us keep our wonderful memories of the park going to this day.
I really admire Donny's juggling ability. I can't get the toss right to add the third ball yet he can do it and dance. I am so very envious of his skill!
Palisades Park was a victim of it's own success. Every year the crowds got larger. The effect on surrounding areas became more, well, controversial. When, finally a very significant portion of the attendees began to reflect the "changes" in Zthe NYC of that era... So support grew for a rezoning which would allow altered use for the land. But today a memorial exists at the former site of the park front gate which reads to effect of here we had fun and here we grew. But....
