I don't know what it is, but I love foot sweeps. I feel they are the most elegant, entertaining and effective take down when timed. An old man can take down a bull.
@@TravisStevensgrappling hello travis In the judo community the only videos out their are just instructional videos I believe it would bring much more eyeball if you focus on "fun videos" Like they do in the bjj community recently Ideas: 1)black belt disguises as whitebelt 2) body builder tries judo for the first time 3) wrestler vs judo blackbelt 4) boxer vs judo black belt Some fun stuff like this with clickbaity thumbnails and maybe make the title more clickbaity would definitely bring more eyeballs Just a thought, cheers.
Thank you Mr Stevens for this upload. I'm new to Judo and keep bending my sweeping leg. Working on it slow and low. When not in class I practice the sweeping movement with onnit steel maces; start with the 7lb and pyramid up to the 25lb.
The International Judo Federation should recognize a No Gi Judo Competitive category just like BJJ. It would modernize Judo and make it more practical.
Thanks, this pretty explains the basic in all it's details of the other foot sweeps I see are all just to advance or someone just flew 360 without the understanding or explanations 👍
does the course go over attacking opponents in a more bent over wrestling style stance? so far i have not encountered anyone who uses an upright judo stance in no gi jiu jitsu
You want to sweep the foot as the weight comes off. The Video has to do with timing rather than and actual technique that will work in randori sessions.

They're also relatively low risk and have a ton of potential for setting up secondary attacks 👌
I think the same. I love foot sweeps
Bonus: this also improves your square dance game w/ the ladies
Finally I'll be able to sweep women off their feet!
Man, that was excellent! Your teaching makes total sense.
So glad to see you covering this no gi. Thanks for putting it out
My pleasure! I hope you found it helpful!

I’ve been using a heavy door at my apartment complex to strengthen my foot sweep motion. I have quite a swole inner thigh now.
LOL Thats one way to do it.
Thanks for putting out no gi judo stuff Travis!
Any time! I'm glad you enjoy it!
Definitely getting the full series after this.
Thank you Sean! Let me know how you like it! I would love the feed back!
Now, just now, I became a fan of this guy. This is teaching at its most fundamental. Where can I order his stuff?

Amazing. Thanks for this.
The Right momentum well demonstrated .
Thanks!
I like the dance in the first minute of the video.
OK, I miss training so much I can't take this. Just to do shrimps, crabwalks and bear crawls would be a dream!!
I hear you. Thats why I want to do the 2x a week live workout with me. So we can all get back into it slowly.
What is this series called? Is it on the judofanatics site?
Yes! It's my Mastering NOGI Takedowns instructional
@@TravisStevensgrappling Ok, have to get it
how to buy, this outfit 👍
Thank you!!!!!!
Love it. Many thanks.
Your very welcome!!!
What’s this move called?
De-ashi Barai Basically just like Muaythai Sweep and Dump ... 😀
Are you interested in competing in adcc?
With this exercise you can learn to fight and salsa! Now Frosty just needs to take you to Havana Club!
Lmao!!!!
So sweep the leg when the weight of the body is NOT on that foot ( of the opponent) ?

@@TravisStevensgrappling can u make a vid on that pls . thx
When in no gi will a grappler ever be standing this upright? What are some good set-ups to this?
It’s says basic in the title and it’s for learning. You don’t learn from realistic positions. Buy my dvd for the other things.
Is that Bo Nicole’s ??
that guy is the model for the fuji gear, isn't he?
Dan Henderson..? Is that you?!
you the b e s t best...
Im not good at takedowns but foot sweeps seem like a rather low risk take down and come out of nowhere.
Bruse lee I believe in broken Rhythm
Unfortunately this is illegal in most competitions.
Footsweeps and trips are how you signal to other grapplers that you’re better than them.
Watching without sound so I don't bug anyone and It looks like a horrible 2 step lesson.
His left ear is staring at me
LMAO!
You spend too much time talking!!!@
