- 10/27/2005 Ween Live in DC. What Deaner Was Talking About.
Downloaded from liveween.com. This is in NO WAY our video. We did not shoot it, we weren't even in attendance at the concert.
Thumbs up for "nothing to stew"
Got chills the way the song starts on this live version
I love the faces Deaner makes when he plays.
this must be in my top 15 favorite numbuhs from the 'choco/cheese' whiz and kids deaner & gener c.d.er' by ween er.
jezze gener looks like peter frampton!!!
@ Harryhood... You really had me there; until you miss spelled the word whether. Its not like you miss spelled the word tho its more that you actually used the wrong word, and that, sir makes you a dope. (But if it was autocorrect then just forget what I wrote cause you are right on the $
Gener has nothing to stew.
I always fuck up at that same part.
Its very rare that you see a band that has a great studio sound and an even better stage sound, I'm a fan for life
They’re absolutely the best. 🥰
ween is not broken up. Ween is just having a moment. Ween can't break up. We love them too much.
Good call lol
‘ween is a life sentence’ - deaner
I hope you’re right now ;(
I listened to this song in about '97 on a CD player (with "disk skip" shock-proof- which was like the death-knell of CD players) in Corpus Christi (the most laid-back town in Texas) while visiting my grandparents (who are now dead). It was so cool. I really remember it strong. The backyard was one of those novelty, small communities with tiny backyards, but the grass was lush as hell and super thick and I just remember laying down and listening and looking up at the clouds. Appreciate life.
I love it when Dean Ween is making faces. Its fucking amazing. Sticking his tongue out and shit.
Talented mother fuckers. We are Ween.
the song the beatles forgot to record :)
sublime!
Wow I am just now learning this song is about panic attacks Mickey gets. Now it makes so much sense its described perfectly in this song. The surreal feeling and inescapable dread. Edit (He pretty much conquered that anxiety)
Where did you learn that?
I just read that too! It makes so much sense now.
such a beautiful song for some reason... its why i love ween, cuz they can do a song like "puch the lil daisies" and then a song like this.
The steely dan of the slacker generation
I always found what deaner was talking about to be far more disturbing than spinal meningitis. its so bright and sunshine that I always heard a dark arterial motive underneath. its definitely the coming down song. it just makes you feel like killing yourself. by far my top 5 fav songs regardless of artists. I hope they play this at my funeral.
Thanks for that, this song was played at my best friend's memorial service, so it's special to me...
This song sounds so beautiful. Does anybody know the meaning of the lyrics?
It's about anxiety, here is what Deaner had to say about it: www.reddit.com/r/ween/comments/1qybp2/might_have_been_asked_before_but_its_actually_a/cdhwxx3
Jade Thanks!
One of my favorites by them. Beautiful
if i was king,id wear a ring
other styles are don't get to close to my fantasy is bowie/dio. touch my tooter is the stones all the way. look at him sing it when they do it live. total mick jagger. i picked up on this a long time ago.
Crazy this comment is pushing 20 years old. I feel ya 100% though.
lmao. i love how the drummer starts counting off and they all give blank looks to each other. GREAT SONG!!
I MUST SEE them LIVE!
I hope you have
Fuck Ween is so rad
The mark of a good band when a great song makes your top 15 faves :)
"woooo" - the crowd
i dont know if you realize this... but I figured that was blatanly obvious. so with that... "thank you captain obvious"?
This song could be an amazing moment in a Wes Anderson style of movie
Yessir, whether it is or not, that's what it will be to me. First time I heard this song I had been up all night and felt pretty washed out myself.
Great song and beautiful Gibson guitar!
they always overdress...
god dammin. One of Ween's best.
This post is almost old enough to vote.
best band Ive ever seen
Deeeeaaaner
0 dislikes, I loves it!!! =)
GOT A WEASEL
@Drummeric1989 It sounds like the drummer was starting Leave Deaner Alone. Got confused, he knew it was SOME Deaner song, just not sure which one.
another song that it took alot of smoking weed to realize this is morning glory off pure guava is let's go crazy by prince. there are so many more.
You're definitely right about Ween being the best touring band, but comparing Ween to the Grateful Dead is like comparing diamonds to cubic zirconia. Ween has got more talent in one of their boogers than the Grateful Dead has (or had) in their collective bodies.
Both bands are good but I like ween better bc come on dude its ween, plus they could easily do a grateful dead track better than grateful dead can
this was our senior song.. great class 97
That’s amazing
holy boog i love ween to death but i also love grateful dead masonsdad your comment is silly "i never knew the man but he was a good friend of mine"
I don't know if you realize this, but that's rather the whole point.
@elspanishswede I agree. I've always thought that. Listening to this while while tripping/coming down from tripping many times in youth has had a lasting effect on me. Its cool to see someone else say that.
Ween is something else to be a part of... when they are on... Austin, Stubs, topless girls got on stage.. it sounds trivial... it was religious.
@elspanishswede It most certainly is. No question in my mind from the very first moment I heard this song.
i think you're wrong. It might be Deaner's thoughts about a night like you described, but not about the actual night it's self. See, the song is called "What Deaner Was Talking About", not "What Deaner Experienced". So if this song has anything to do with tripping, it's because Deaner had been talking about it, and then something happened that reminded the speaker (Gener?) of what he was talking about, causing him to question weather or not this thing is really what Deaner was talking about.
Beautiful
@elspanishswede and it's the greatest song for that very situation.
Ween has "broken up". I never got to see them live, but maybe sometime before either of them die they'll get together for a concert, and I'll be there.
choronos jeez
Did you make it to a show? Plenty to go this year!
@@Dudecifer I'll be seeing them at Peach Fest in Scranton!
@@choronos nice bro. Glad to see ween fans coming back after all these years. Once they touch you. You get it for life. I’m going to red rocks in august!
@@Dudecifer That's an awesome venue, I'd love to be at that show! I'm really looking forward to meeting other Ween fans at the show. I've never met anyone in my daily life that appreciates Ween when I bring them up.
good to listen to on lsd.. try to listen to their heart shaped box cover it's a little more raw than nirvanas
Look ma! No dislikes! Daddy like.......
I think this song is about lucid dreaming
I loved it when Ash covered this, they're my favorite band, but nothing beats the original!
You said it! Good Boys for sure
he's not carl weathers then
@coananthecustodian so true
This show/song was so tight.
i don't know if people realize this but ween copy styles of other bands music to create thier own songs. push the little daisies to me is the jackson 5 with a young micheal j.
And that jackson 5 song sounds like a million others 😂
your right
lets go crazy in the beginning where prince talks is morning glory's beginning
Haha I had the same thought.
