  • In this iconic scene from the gimmicky CHAMBER OF HORRORS (1966), Patrick O'Neal plays a murderer who escapes from a train in grisly fashion (but nothing gory is shown). The Fear Flasher (the red hue) and Horror Horn (the music) will warn you that this is one of the four Supreme Fright Points in the film!

A fun old horror flick, although of course this scene is quite unrealistic . He wouldn't be able to strike his wrist with the force necessary to sever his hand because of resistance from the water.

I forgot to check if this was before William Castle and his gimmicks or after? It was very like him, wasn't it? Fun movie with two very handsome leading men.

It's a pretty good film that could've well done without the corny gimmicks. Fans of the WB cartoons might recognize the sound effects for the Fear Flasher & Horror Horn as having been used for Yosemite Sam's flying saucer in LIGHTER THAN HARE (1960) And the film's music score is by William Lava who wrote the music for the Looney Toons shorts in the 60's.
