Does that milklab almond milk break when poured into coffee?? Hmmm been looking for some good almond milk for my coffee cause my stomach is weak like that...sobs
I’m loving your videos! I may start working at a local cafe as a barista soon, so I’ve been watching a couple to get as much info as possible. I don’t have barista experience, but I have a passion for making coffees at home. Can you offer any tips for just starting at a cafe and learning new things + dealing with a rush?
I like the way you work. Everyone has a different and unique way of working. I’m still not at that level to be on milk steaming during rush hour, but I’m slowly working there. I think my main problem is figuring out how much milk to use initially. I hate it when you steam milk and it’s not enough, then you have to go back at steam more which ultimately slows down the workflow. I’ll get there soon!
@@laurangelia I had a shift the other day and I ended up on milk. I was just gonna make a few coffees but then the orders started to come in so I was like 'I might as well do it for a bit'. I actually managed to be the milk steamer during a small rush and it was quite fun. Obviously using the ghost steaming technique. My co-worker said after 'I think this is the first time I've seen you properly on the machine during rush' and that feeling, I just held onto it
Laura - I've worked with Indonesian people before and they have a detectable accent. However, your English is so good I think you were from California. How come so good and how long have you spoken English?
Hi Laura, thanks for another great video! I've got a nespresso capsule machine with steam wand, and I end up with clouds! Your tips are very helpful and hopefully I can improve with practice. Wondering if you find it's easier to froth regular milk than skim?
Regular milk is the easiest.. Sometimes skim milk can be a bit more bubblier, but once you get the hang of it, they are all will be smooth and shiny in your hand hoho
Laura, I’m self learning. Luckily I have the la morzoco to practice on everyday. I always end up frothing the milk too much. And when I pour the milk to try art, it’s way way too frothy… any advice?
Hey Aila :) That’s a very nice machine you have there! if you have too much froth, it means you stretch the air too much when you steam.. Try to start your steaming process by submerging your steam wand deeper into the milk, and turn on your steamer at a half strength (not all the way), once you get the vortex rolling, lower down your jug very slowly and steady to get a couple of stretching sound, after that you can lift the jug up again to finish rolling.. The key here is to have a steady hand and not make big movements :) Once you’re comfortable with positioning your jug, and controlling the stretch, you can go with full strength steaming power! Hope it helps ☺️ You can also practice with iced water and a drop of dish liquid soap if you may..
@@laurangelia good morning! I did try the advice you gave me and wow! I’ve never had my milk done this smooth ever before. I still need to be more comfortable with the changes though and now learn proper latte art❤️❤️ Love ya!
I have philips ep2210 espresso machine, it has milk steamer but I never get this kinda swirling movement when I steam milk, why is that? I do get hissing sound but its just not like this at all. is it because it's not powerful enough?
Laura, you’ve got the skill and techniques and everything! But I think you should stop stressing. Try to relax more. That way, you would be more confident and aware of other stuffs around you. It can also help with the dropping stuffs (maybe) Just a suggestion😊 Great video btw!
At my cafe, the steamer is too high and apparently my froth doesn’t get mixed into my milk properly so i get some much foam on top of my milk after?? I’m not sure how to fix it, I’ve been trying but it doesn’t look as silky as yours Laura :(
That's so crazy that your customer at 7:16 was talking about headaches for multiple days. I'm just getting over something like that. 3 days, nothing worked to take it away. Just coincidental.
Hey Lauren, I was wondering if you could do a video on your espresso preparation in the Cafe? How much coffee in and how much out in how many seconds? Do u time your shots? How do u clean the portafilter after Knocking out puck? I just got my first barista job over a month ago and it is not what I expected 😂 we have a 4 second margin of error for espresso and when I work there is a lot of wasted espresso ☹
I tried your way of multi-tasking but it didn’t feel comfortable at all. We use the ‘ghost steaming’ technique. Stretch for a couple of seconds, pitcher sits on drip tray and then getting the next pitcher ready

What should be the proper steam boiler temp? I find that 120’C is way too hot?
It should be 90°c
