I lost mom when i was 11 . My dad lived with us near 2 years after i was born , then he leaved and treated me like a stranger. Before mom died , I had the chance to really know him and see him for the first time , but i know what kind of human he is after what he had done. After all , i felt like drowning and dying slowly. Sometimes , i had deep suicidal thoughts , but i knew that i can't do something like that. I used music as a painkiller , so that's why I'm still living and this song is one of the songs that helped me overcome these thoughts and continue to live - my dreams - . I hope guys you use music as I use it , to make every reason to give up on what you want in life to dissapear, don't wait for other human being to save you , you are the only savior of your life. Stay strong for the people you love and people you care about , think what you can do something to make them proud . As I do. Sorry for my bad english , I'm not a native speaker. I just wanted to tell someone what it's on my mind everyday. God bless you
I know I'll get flak for this, but it doesn't even matter what it's about. Music is often up to interpretation, so take the meaning you want to. Me? I'll just enjoy the song...
i know my friend told me that i am in the badgirl kind of group and he goes' ya know when you get mad it reminds me of state of my head from shinedown i agreed i love this band as well so win win
It's up to 65. I swear if it hits 69 then I want someone to make a dirty joke out of that for all to know just how messed up we as humans are in this world.
I can't hear this song without thinking of both personal stuff, but also thinking of Rockstar games, for some reason i think of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption with this song.
This goes out to active duty military and out to the veterans who fought for our country so we don't have to. Thank you United States Navy (hooya), Army (hoorah), Marines (Oorah), and Airforce (Hooah)!
This song has always reminded me of the Stormcloaks from the game TESV: Skyrim. If you think about, it really suits them. (especially the part about the arrows XD)
Yes!! Or "They Don't know where we've been" and "I'm full of deep cuts right down to the marrow" is when Ulfric was captured and tortured by the Aldmeri Dominion in the Great War.
"Do you feel me now? I'm breaking down your door" Seige of Solitude for sure. And the chorus "The way i'm leavin is dead, that's the state of my head" the beleif that Sovenguard awaits the Stormcloaks
This song reminds me how grateful I should be to all the people who sacrificed their lives and sanity, before, during and after the war, so that our country could finally be free after nearly a millennium of being opressed and under control by our neighbors. I just really can't explain how happy, yet sad this songs makes me feel...
I have a 13month old little boy and he dances to shine down only I can play any songs he only Bob's his head to shine down crazy he knows good music hats off to them thanks for giving me my jam time
Yup my man is just staring at me .. I'm under the blanket but I can feel the eyes and he's cracking his knuckles.. lmao he pisses me off to the point of no return.
wow...this song hits home right now...my fave lyrics are "they don't know, where we've been, we got that concrete street skin" and "got my own foundation with no hesitation" and of cours," only way i'm leaving is dead" fuck yes!
I remeber hearing this song for this first time. It was like 2am and i had been at work since 10pm. I was exhausted cause my son had just been born, and this song just woke me up. Immediately. Really kinda kept me going for the next hour or so of driving.

I make video game tributes, and I was actually planning on using this song for a red dead vid, glad someone else thinks this song fits the game
I thought it was "all my eyes are seeing red", "the only way I'm leaving this bed", and "we got black concrete street skin."
I'm fricking deaf

Gonna make the walls rattle: seige of Whiterun yea? Im not speaking under my breath: the duel between High King Torryg and Jarl Ulfric?

Love This Song! and band! :') Truely got my attention :') xD
I use this as my motivation music for writing fan fiction.
Aaron Ray I don't think this was meant for anime characters having sex but you do you.
I'm more of the action type of person and I don't write smut since I feel like it wouldn't be right to type it up.
@Eddie Stepanek
Not all fan fiction is hentai and erotica.. -_-
sounds vaguely familiar..
Aaron Ray then you're the good kind of fanfic writer
Will shinedown ever make a bad song? I dont think so c:
