Sound of Madness is probably one of the best Shinedown songs ever. Even though, Diamond Eyes and Cut the Cord are really great pump up songs.

I love this song. I listen to a lot of true crime stories and stuff, and killers/abusers/ etc will always be like "boo hoo, my life was so hard, that's why I do these horrible things, I cant help it." This song is about people who try to avoid responsibility because of their trauma, I'm sure we've all been there, it's a slippery slope, and this song is a good wakeup call.
It helps me remember. We've all been hurt, it the getting back up thats important.

I swear I started listening too second chance. I remember the song being on the radio as a little kid. Then I heard it on JJO the radio station this year of 2015. I fell in love with Shinedown. I started listening too a whole lot more. these songs. I became addicted. its a healthy drug.

Used to listen to this song constantly when I was about 13. I always thought it meant that there is no darkest hour. Now I've come to realize he's saying that the darkest hour is real, it just doesn't come when you'd expect it (in the night).

I absolutely love Shinedown. They are one of the best rock bands ever and I love the chorus and when its goes you need a shotgun blast a kick in the ass. It's great. This is my favorite album they have made.

this relates to everyone who has lived through hell and lived to tell the tale and see ppl who says things like "i cant take this im killing myself" AKA weak ppl and you just shake your head at their insanely weak mind...ppl make their own strength that is what this song is refering to...no bitching allowed in life, the strong survive the weak perish.
That is practically very true. But we should always remember that those of us who have been silenced by Violence need to come out of the hidden trauma closet and Tell all. As long as we are silent, we will be weakened. Telling all, talking about the trauma with someone who is safe (that is why we use therapists) to discuss the painful trauma we have experienced is a way to find that inner strength to overcome the Trauma that destroys our lives and gets songs like these written. No longer being silenced by the pain releases our inner power. It is only by the grace of chance that I survived the traumas I have been through in my life. Not only from the Trauma themselves but also attempted suicide. There is nothing wrong with being mentally ill. There is a lot wrong with being part of the problem instead of the solution. In case anyone is wondering, the solution is compassion and support for everyone except those with NPD and/or PD. Sorry, people with NPD/PD, you guys are usually the ones we are damaged by.
