Thanks for this wonderful show. Brings back wonderful memories of my time in the UK! Went to NCO Leadership School there in 1988. Great time, especially being stationed at Alconbury at that time! Thanks once again!!!!
I think the last time i drove a lorry onto Upwood to deliver was around 1994. It were still active but gradually winding things down. I went there in 2010 and seeing the vandalism wasn't nice. 😐
Trouble is, many vandals and trouble makers consider themselves "urban explorers" They are not. However, some urban explorers are genuine historians. These genuine people want to preserve the history.
@@GrahamInnes1I'm an Urban Explorer. I been to upwood a few times myself after it closed. It's horrible seeing how smashed up it's become in the years. That's why I'm here, I love your video see what Upwood looked like before the vandals got to it. Also considering theses photos were taken in the 90s you don't suppose you know the film stock you used? These photos look stunning and especially the ones in the sun, I would quite like to do an before and after. Anyway thank you for publishing these amazing photos.
@@GreatGizmo74 The shots were taken with a Chinon 35m SLR and the film was standard Boots or Kodak 200 or 400 ASA. I could not afford expensive film. You also had to be mindful of the developing and printing costs back then. I took thousands of pics but tried to limit myself to 1 x 36 exp film per site. Sometimes used 2 films but there was always a financial implication. Love digital. You can snap thousands of shots per site. Glad you like the shots. I have many albums now on Flickr, just search Graham Innes on www.flickr.com
@@GrahamInnes1 Thank you for getting back to me! I understand how digital now is just so much easier than analogue photography. For me film just has a certain look and color to it that digital can't really replicate.
