I think Ian gets some undeserved flack. His attitude just goes in a bit different direction, but don't find it any more extreme/different than some of the others Allies'.

Brandon plays Pokemon (with Kyle) was my favorite series of all time, went back and rewatched it recently...still complete gold. So awesome seeing Kyle back for this
If you haven’t watched their stream of Pokémon Silver, I can’t recommend it enough. Brandon made a condensed video of the highlights from the stream called Silver Squad the Movie. Any amazing send off for Kyle.

Really missed Kyle as part of EZA
Kyle's been killing it on twitch if you haven't watched. Monday Wednesday and Fridays. He recently raised like 13,000$ for charity by himself.

Hes trying to figure out what he wants to do on his own now.
I have to admit EZA turned very boring for me without him. That being said, the pandemic might probably have something to do with it too.
@@The_RedVIII I really think he was a creative source for them and one of the most irreplaceable. He's always been more on the unique side in regards to his tastes, quirks and whatnot as well. No offense to the rest of the crew who still have their own talents and quirks, but I just can't speak as highly of all of them.
He made a lot of the EZA content better just by being there and a lot of it has suffered since he left like most notably the podcast.

I think some of the harsh criticism (lets be real, some people personally attack him, and that aint cool) Ian gets is that he can be very descriptive of why he dislikes something and it can come off as vitriolic even though that was not the intent. Kyle kind of touched on it when he countered Ian with TLOU2’s writing. Like instead of calling the gameplay a slog, he could’ve said He didn’t like the pace of the gameplay. Cause calling it a slog to someone who likes it would feel like an attack, while the other way says you just didn’t like it for a particular reason.
Not saying Ian should change how he goes about his critiques, just an observation.
Also to anyone attacking someone for their opinions on games needs to chill and grow up. Make a counter to why you disagree instead of hurling insults.

oh Ian is very diplomatic... I would just say that TLOU2 is a terrible game designed by someone pretentious who clearly doesn't want to make a game with interesting mechanics or ideas but simply an "Oscar Bait" mush of boring mechanics, slow walking sequences and cutscenes.
...of course in the gamimg world it wouldn't be oscar bait, more like Game Award Bait I guess.
and it's only controversial because it's e generally liked game. if anyone says sometimes really bad about a game that people generally agree on is bad, noone bats an eye... it's just that people, for some reason I don't understand, generally think Naughty Dog makes good games... and whenever people disagree it's national news.

imagine someone trashing a game that isn't critically acclaimed and wasn't getting awards left and right.
do you think someone, or even the same person would write a comment about it? no, noone would.
it's laughable that someone would want someone else to word a critique in a specific way in order to avoid making fans of the game upset.
TLoU2 and all of ND's games are trash of the highest order IMO, just because people like it doesn't mean I should word it differently.
there are people who love games that are generally disliked by the public and get way harsher comments made about them but noone cares.
it is as if punching down on smaller games with less fans is ok but punching up to the giant AAA machinery is not ok.
and that's exactly what it is, a machine looking at trends and how to maximize mass-compatibility and catering to what gets good reviews by known outlets. not a single Gamedesign idea in Naughty Dog games is in any way fresh or innovative, because they have a working formula that they know the masses will gobble up, very similar to Ubisoft (in fact worse than Ubisoft, not even Ubsoft games have mechanics this basic), and I for one have no respect for that
I do always try to phrase it like "it's not for me" but sometimes I forget lololol

For the record I put a lot of weight in to your views on mental health and self care, so for any haters out there, there are a ton of us who love hearing your input, it just sucks that the negative voices always tend to be the loudest. I honestly haven’t consumed much EZA content this year. My concentration has just not been there for podcasts and it’s been a rough year-and Kyle leaving tapped into that sadness. Watching this was so enjoyable though. A great tradition that I hope continues whether you fly out in person or not. Thanks for letting us into your thoughts a bit every year and continue to be unapologetically you 💜

Gotta agree. As someone who deals with depression, mushrooms are the only thing that helps. My last dose was two months ago, and I'm starting to feel the depression creep in again, so it's time to order some more.
I tried therapy, Anti-depressants, I run and weight train every day, and mushrooms are the first thing that ever helped me.
@@stonehorn4641 I’ve definitely read testimonials from people claiming it helped, but also some that extenuated their mental issues and made them much worse. I think the latter is more people that struggle to comprehend reality though.
There are other ways. The psychedelic path isn't for everyone, and can't be untrodden once treaded
@@cambienvenu that's fair. I wouldn't recommend them to people with delusions, or certain mental illness. My experience is only with depression

29:40 My guess is that bathrooms are generally very private areas, despite being in public areas. So when something can potentially invade your private space where you are normally safe, you're more stressed out and on alert.

I genuinely wait in anticipation for this video every year and I always write a gushy comment about how much I love you guys. Your connection and intelligence has always been plain to see and it just so happens that the two "non-reviewers" are GT and EZA's most important contributors. My dream would be a weekly podcast starring Ian Hinck, Tim Rogers and Kyle Bosman.
